WARNING CONSUMERSI will post a daily update on multiple complaint sites until Portland Torque Products Inc (aka Dave Neville - owner), decides to do the right thing...fix my transmission without defects at no cost to me or reimburse me so another transmission repair shop can correctly repair it. PTPI continues not to respond to my requests for documented evidence of work completed for the $2350 they charged me. Really??? Who does this to a customer charges +$2000, has your property, and will not provide evidence of work completed, what parents broke, etc. Keeps you in the dark. Can't believe the state hasn't shut them down for what appears to be a solid case consumer fraud over many years.They have provided ZERO documentation so I really don't know what they did and if the Dyno test was ever run since the rebuilt transmission vibrates my car and lost reverse gear. (see previous reviews). This company is a disgrace to the industry and cares only about the $, screw repeat customers which I suspect they have very few. Frankly I will blog daily until they take responsibility, man-up, and take care of the customer who paid 100% of the fee upfront....A regret paying 100% upfront and I have too live with it and learn from. AKA Transmissionexpress.com. I purchased a remanufactured transmission from them because they claim to dyno test each unit before shipping back and for their warranty. However their dyno testing machine was out of service a fact they failed to mention. The transmission came back with the same fail codes as was sent. I had to pay to have it removed again new fluids, towing the works and that warranty they talk about is worthless I have not received any warranty refunds its been over four months. Dishonest company stay away!
CONSUMER ALERT STAY AWAY!!! NOT AN HONEST BUSINESS. THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO MAINTAIN THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT DONT LET THEM HAVE YOURS. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT YOUR TRANSMISSION MOST LIKELY WILL RETURN WITH THE SAME FAIL CODES.
I have always had a great experience here. They have always been super courteous to me. I am not very technologically savvy, but they take the time to explain things to me. This week someone had cut my exhaust pipe. I brought it to them and they were able to weld it instead of replacing it. Which is tons CHEAPER. It was quick as well since it was a smallish job. I went and had a long breakfast down the street and by the time I got back it was already done.What I think people don't understand is that bigger jobs take longer. There is a higher risk that they will find something else that they have to take care of. If everything goes perfect then of course they would be done quickly but they make sure to do things right which takes time. Also remember that there are a lot of other people with car problems. There are only so many people to work on cars so relax. They are doing there best. They have always been cool to me and if the job is taking longer then they expected, they let me know and even offer to let me go to another shop so that it gets done quicker. I would rather it gets done right though so thanks Dave and crew!
I took my truck in five weeks ago to because the transmission THAT THEY REBUILT just stopped on me while on vacation. I call at least twice a week and am told theyll call me back. Never get calls back. Was told they would do it for $450 and now five weeks later its $1250. Still do not have my truck. Terrible customer service!! I wouldve been happy with a phone call but now im going in to find out whats really going on!!!
Scott was a huge help. He negotiated with our warranty company to get us a new transmission (the warranty people wanted to swap ours out with one that had 160k miles on it). They installed the new transmission quickly and got the van back to me in time for me to work on the weekend, like I'd requested. Awesome service and great work, highly recommended!
Took my work truck in for a heater core they told me it would to be 2 days.Had to go out of town. never called me, went back a week later to get my truck heater core still not done and lots of damage to my vehicle. Drove it in, had to have it towed out with dollies on the front tires and hooked up to the tow truck on the back. Inside door handle broken and hanging out of my door panel torsion bar had been cut rear flat tire, hole in my gas tank. And who knows what else when I finally get to start my truck again. NEVER GO TO THESE LIARS.
I took in my husbands truck and thought it would be a real problem, I was greeted by Michelle and, was really relieved. Michelle assured me that they would check Bill's truck at no charge, they did. After about an hour the Manager came up and explained that the light was on because the gas cap was not installed properly but, it tested good. Mark also told me it was no charge and to return if I ever had any questions about my husband's truck or my car. I will be back and so will my friends.
I had a great experience. Good communication and the price was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be.
I wish I had read these reviews first before I got involved with them. I first paid for my transmission, it took two weeks before they even shipped it out. When I got it the paint started to come off of the transmission because it was still dirt and grease underneath. Once installed, the transmission did not shift properly. Dave gave me the run around for more than a week and would not return my phone calls. I have to remove that transmission, send it back to get another. I installed this transmission but it has a bad leak! I'm told by a local shop to repair it, it needs to be removed and opened up again.Forget about that 5 year warranty, it wont be worth toilet tissue full of crap based on the way they treated me. STAY AWAY! YOU ARE VERY LIKELY TO BE VERY SORRY OTHERWISE. More than $2000 down the drain. They deserve no stars.
