Friday night and Dad's choice and I choose Mexican food! Yum yum, I never get Mexican food so I was very excited to try the new restaurant in MY town :) When we pulled in there was only one car in the whole dark parking lot. Not a good sign for 6:30 on Friday night but what the heck maybe the other people hadn't discovered a diamond in the rough? ummm keep reading. When we walked through the door we were greeted by a young lady who looked at us in a confused manner and mumbled something I couldn't hear and started to walk off. Maybe it was her facial piercings that made mumble? anyhow, Good thing I was paying attention enough to figure out her mumbling was an attempt from her to get us to follow her to a seat. We followed her to a room that was ice cold to a table in the back. One table we walked by had dirty dishes and paperwork on it. Not like customers ate there more like all of the restaurant workers had eaten there and paid bills and just left it there. Not really sure. She brought us small tri-fold menus and ice water. Then some stale hot chips and salsa showed up. We didn't see anyone again for an uncomfortable amount of time. There is no alcohol on the menu and when she finally came back I asked if they had beer, she said yes. We placed our orders. My wife ordered bacon wrapped jumbo prawns, my daughter nachos and I asked her what was the best thing on the menu. She recommend the Burrito, so I went with it. My plate came first smokin hot, Burrito covered in a red sauce, rice and black beans. A few minutes later my daughters Nachos arrived, isn't cheese supposed to be melted on nachos? oh well shes six she'll eat it . My wives bacon wrapped jumbo prawns jerky came last. I asked the waitress for some hot sauce and again I got the confused look. She said no they don't have any hot sauce or spicy salsa. Um am I at the chucky cheese? No I'm at a Mexican restaurant that doesn't have anything spicy to put on my burrito! Oh my! My wife and I agreed that the bacon wrapped jumbo prawns were something you can pick up in the frozen food section at Costco. My burrito was hot and salty.... yep that's about it. This was a really disappointing dining experience. On the way to the car we passed the next victims on their way into the restaurant we both felt like we should say something to the couple to warn them but we left them to their own fate.... hope they survived..... Do yourself a favor and skip this place, YUCK!
