Highly, highly recommend Jim Fisher Volvo! Very friendly, honest and take the time to explain the issues with the car and answer questions. Every single person I have interacted with there was knowledgeable and courteous. I will definitely take my mini there again!

I recently bought a V70r wagon in the Portland area. The car needed various items taken care of. Jim Fischer Volvo went out of their way to help me. I am not kidding when I say, it was the helpful and kind type of ""old fashion service"" you could once get.
Their new service manager 'Andy Hudson' was a gem. He explained everything to me, listened to my concerns, and went above and beyond to get my car right and make it a great experience for me. Even the tech working on my car was wonderful. Anyone who wants a great Volvo experience should call ANDY at Jim Fischer. They took care of me and I am picky and not easily pleased. Thanks to all at Jim Fischer Volvo who helped me. Gregory

Jim Fisher Volvo tried to charge me for a service that was under extended warranty.
They told me they had fixed the part a couple years prior so they would charge for doing the work again.
I had a strange feeling about that so I called Herzog Meier Volvo in Beaverton.
They informed me that this repair would be fixed as many times as needed during the extended warranty period.
I pulled my car out of Jim Fisher and took it to Herzog Meier where the repair was done free of charge to me. This saved me $240.
I know Portland is a one horse town when it comes to Volvo dealerships so we all just automatically take our cars to Jim Fisher. Take my advice and go the extra miles out to Beaverton to Herzog Meier. Jim Fisher is taking advantage of their customers because we do not have options. They are extremely fraudulent.
If they would have taken my $240 dollars for this repair they still would have claimed the warranty repair with Volvo netting almost $500.
The service manager there, Curtis, is the most stereotypical “used car salesman” type – watch out.

I have never had worse service then from Jim fisher service department in my life (41 years). The ""service manager"", Kirk (?) treated me horribly. In 8 years we never had good service from them, but continued to use them because our Volvo was under warranty and they are the closest dealer to our home. We ended up back there after out warranty was up because an independent Volvo service shop found a problem and informed us (no charge) it was covered under extended warranty. Well, it ends up that Jim Fisher was soooo upset we did not go to them first that they just wanted to be a-holes again.
I would never recommend this service department for any work and I now will send the extra effort to get my work done in Beaverton.

I have never experienced such a poor service environment from any dealership! Run-down, no customer assistance, terrible care. This group should take a field trip to Acura (a car I paid half as much for) to learn how a service department should be run. Try greeting your customers and acting as if you are interested in providing service....that would be a start. I will NEVER buy another car from Jim Fisher Volvo.

We have bought 2 Volvos here and have been impressed with the helpful and friendly sales staff. However the service dept is a different story..uncomfortable waiting room, a long counter where you really don't know whom to address ( the staff usually doesn't initiate assistance) and huge prices. As soon as the warranty is up I head to Leyfax across the River!

I can't disagree more with the previous reviews.
I have been almost ready to sell my car multiple times and they have helped me change my mind every time.
The first time I went there my car had an issue that even stumped the mechanic who loves older Volvos. After replacing a part that wasn't working and was the best guess to solve the problem (they saved my old part in case it wasn't), my car was still having the issue. I took it back and the mechanic went on a long drive with me and taught me how to diagnose and deal with the problem while it was happening. He even sat me down and showed me the schematics and taught me about the more in depth internal workings of my car so I had a better understanding.
They let me diagnose the problem so that I could still drive the car (as hard as it was to drive) and not have to pay or wait for the diagnostics. After coming back with my thoughts, they replaced a part (again kept my old part) and it worked!
Even though they knew my car worked, they had me call back every few days for a while to make sure that it was still working fine. After all of that, they only charged me for the first part and the small bit of labor time to replace it - with NO charge for the time and the other part that they replaced.
I have been back many times (unfortunately) and they have always been honest and friendly (I practically know them all by name now). I am extremely grateful.

Was quoted over the phone a price for a power steering-rack replacement and .. I asked specifically if this quote was just parts or if it was parts and labor (was told parts AND labor), then when I showed up to drop car off to be repaired, I was told that quote couldn't be right, it sounded low, and he's sure that parts alone would cost $1,500. I was then told I couldn't get an actual quote until they looked at it first to see what the situation was... I told them that I didn't need them to look at it to tell me it needed to be replaced, I knew that it needed to be replaced and that was all I wanted them to do... so don't waste labor ""assessing"" the situation... anyway the story could be much longer, there was a lot more involved in the encounter, but to sum it up they were extremely rude and pushy, I left close to tears and will NEVER go there again

the service department is disorganized and extremely low on the customer service side. the people i talked to in the service department not helpful at all. i made an appointment a week ahead so that i could plan my time and take the morning off to get the car serviced. when i call that morning before going in i was told that my appointment was not on the books. the person whom i talked to was unwilling to help with the situation and passed me on to the voice mail where i left a detailed message. i never received a call back. the arrangement i made to take the morning off completely waisted. i am now looking for another volvo dealership that will take the time to get it right!

I have brought my Volvo into the dealership three times and all three times have been a disaster. The service department support was horrible, the rep rude and the service not completed correctly. I have had problems with the car since they performed work on the vehicle. This last visit was scheduled 2 weeks in advance, I had to drive from Seattle down to Portland to meet the 7:45am appt. only to be told they made a mistake in the schedule and did not have my appt. noted. I could leave the car and they might be able to get to it. The service was made to reset my emergency air bag (SRS) and takes approx. 20 min. to reset on their computer. I have been to multiple dealerships in CA, WA, and OR, but this has been the worst in customer support and service.

I have a 2001 S60 volvo that I love. I am ready to buy another volvo but would not because of the Jim fFsher service department. I work downtown and it is near my office and very convenient. My car has has some minor and major repairs and each time I take it to their service department I feel as though I am getting completely fleeced. My service person is unfriendly and really uninterested in my satisfaction of service. I recently had a side view mirror replaced and 3 months later the outer plate that encases it fell off. Of course it was my fault, since I took my car through the car wash, even though the original one that was not replaced by Jim Fisher amazingly is still there. My husband and I are shopping for cars and were intending on a volvo SUV, but I would not go near Jim Fisher and have to deal with the attitude and bad service of their service department.

We have purchased several cars from Jim Fisher throughout the years and there is good reason why we don't go to Herzog. We have found the the people at Jim Fisher are the best... never pushy, always honest and helpful. Hugh (sales rep.) has worked with us in the last few years and is the best to work with. The service department does a good job and is pretty fair however they can be pushy.
