Thank you flying pie from all dairy allergic and lactose intolerant consumers out here. We love pizza but when 2 family members developed milk allergies we thought we were out of luck untill...F.P. The soy cheese is great plus the staff also gave me info on where I could purchase the cheese myself for homemand dairy free yummies. Thanks!

The fact that Flying Pie makes the best pizza in Portland is a given. What keeps me coming back is the fabulous service, great value, and fun atmosphere. The decor takes me back to 1984, which is a good thing! The teens behind the counter are service oriented and friendly, not the disinterested gangsta kids you find at so many other restaurants. Be sure to tip so you can hear the entire staff yell ""woo hoo!"" Have a beer and play a game of Scrabble while you wait for your pizza. Good times!
Looking at the 94 reviews before me, most of them said this place had great pizza and slow service. It was not the service that was slow. They quoted me 30 minutes to make my medium pizza on a Friday night at 8:30pm. They were not backed up, not really crowded. It was just their standard time to make a pizza. The pizza came out in about 25 minutes, they were right. The pizza was ok, the crust was too crisp. The dough was nothing special. In my opinion, Chicago style pizza means great dough. Their dough was just so, so. Would I go back? No. I can have okay pizza 10 minutes away from my house, not the 20 minutes to get there, plus the 30 minutes for my food.

Awesome pizza! Very tasy! Lots of spices and meat with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. A real pizza. Not a slice of garlic bread with excess sauce and cheese with a little meat thrown in for color. A definite ""must eat"" for locals as well as out of town visitors. Ambiance is kid friendly but not over the top or too busy. Traditional pizza parlour style. Friendly for all.
