LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!
In my 3rd year buying firewood from Dean Innovations. They've been consistently reliable, deliver on time with courteous drivers.... the wood has been exactly what I expected: dry, seasoned properly and cut just right for my needs.
Try the juniper - it's magnificent!
Their other products are probably just as good - I already know their customer service is the best!
Going to need a load of soil in a few months - guess who I'm calling?

I have purchased Dean Innovations Premium Portland Blend organic planting mix on three separate occasions for use in my vegetable garden in SW Portland. This planting mix works great as an amendment to clay soil because it drains well which helps the garden beds to warm up and dry out early in the Spring. We get rapid plant growth and early harvests using six inches of Portland Premium Blend tilled into our clay soil. I would recommend Portland Premium Blend to anyone growing an organic vegetable garden.

We have been gardening more than thirty years, mostly in New England but for the past several years in the Portland area. Although the climate here is very helpful for gardeners, the soils have been somewhat challenging. Before we found your White Lightning product we had tried several other organic composts and mixes for our raised beds and were disappointed since they were usually heavy and became saturated easily. The White Lightning is a perfect mix for us since it tends to stay light, friable and yet still has excellent moisture retention and organic content and seems at least initially to need no other augmentations. Our root crops and garlic really seem to love it. It is easy to manage as well and can be shoveled and turned over with ease. Although certainly not a scientific statement, it is our impression that the slugs don't like it since their numbers seem to be lower in our raised beds with this product. We hope you continue to carry this fine soil amendment.

My experience was that the firewood was overpriced and far from seasoned. I wouldn't mind paying top dollar for great wood, but that just wasn't the case. Nigel said he would ""make it right"" if the wood wasn't dry, and when I went back to talk about ""making it right"", the only thing he wanted to talk about was how my fireplace didn't have a draft or I didn't knwo how to light a fire. Whatever. Don't waste your time with this outfit.

The customer service was super friendly and helpful. I had a fairly good-sized load of compost & garden soil mix delivered for my veg. garden raised beds. Looked pretty good. However, TONS of rocks in it (besides the big pieces of pumice) . They say it's screened, but I can't imagine the size of screen that would allow some of these nuggets through. Disappointing when you're starting fresh to ""inherit"" so much crap & have to haul it out.

Ordered a cord of wood, Juniper and Fir. The pieces were ready to burn same night. Talked to Nigel (I think?) when I ordered, who was very helpful. Ace delivered the wood and took good care of my property, very courteous and funny, showed me the difference between the 2 woods and gave me ""care instructions"" for my wood. The price was only a little more than some others, and there was no sleeze. Got exactly what was promised, no hassle.

Nigel and Fernando really know what they are doing! My landscape designer and I wanted custom touches for my yard and garden, and I got exactly what I envisioned. A beautiful waterfall, colors all year long, a custom-cut fire pit, and a patio for entertaining. I still buy their organic compost every year to top dress my beds - it's a good price, and super fine material. I do wish that I could hire them to do the maintenance on my yard every week, but they don't offer that service. They come out twice a year to winterize and summerize, though.
