If you haven't had an opportunity to try Pilates or Gyrotonic, you do not know what you are missing out on! I started doing Pilates/ Gyrotonic several years ago and never looked back. It's helped me with my overall fitness and recently helped me in my recovery from an injury.
I have to say that Circle Studio is hands down my favorite in town. The studio is beautiful and relaxing with the latest equipment. The instructors are some of my favorite too! They are extremely knowledgeable and create a very positive, encouraging environment no matter your skill level.
If you haven't had a chance yet, I highly encourage you to try Circle Studio!

I had never been to a gyrotonics/pilates studio before and was looking to try something new. From the first time I met the group at Circle Studios I felt welcomed.
Erin and Richard are absolutely terrific at educating you not just about the exercises, but how your body is responding and what is happening.
They, and all the people there, are patient, warm, funny and smart! Its been a great experience which I highly recommend!

First, the studio is clean and beautifully set for a classic workout. Second the equipment is state of art and plentiful.
But third and definately should be first, Elizabeth is a top notch Pilates instructor. When you begin your workout with Elizabeth she will ask key questions about workout goals, injuries and anything you need to tell her about your body. Be honest because she asks to modify your workout for YOU!
When I began with Elizabeth I had been engaged in Pilates for years. But with Elizabeth I went to new heights with an advanced workout. I know I look better, because I constantly am asked by friends and others ""Did you loose weight? You look taller. You look more rested. What is dfferent about you?""
And while believe me I LOVE that. I'm even happier with the way I feel. I'm more energetic. I have better stamina and yes I'll admit I love the new size of jean I fit into. I love how slim my legs are. I love the looks I get at the pool when I take my coverup off. I really love how my husband says you have the best legs in town since you started working out with Elizabeth.
Oh, and yes I love that Grandma Berties arms are at bay. No longer do I feel uncomfortable in tank tops. Now my arms are slimmer and definately well shaped. I do not have bat arms any longer. There is no shake the booty of my upper arm. They are toned and yes I worked hard to get them there.!!!
My best advice. Take at least one year of workouts with Elizabeth and then see where you are versus where you were. I am certain you will say it was the best thing you've done for YOU for a long time!

Years ago at another Pilates Studio my knee was hurt. While I continued to take lessons, nothing got better. Than I met the instructors at Circle and viola my knee is well. I have full extension of my knee, I can have full weight on my knee. They are very careful and ask me if I am OK with new exercises, but I can't believe what a difference this has made.
We visited a museum last week and there was a stretching measurement as part of the activies. I took it and measured in the 18-24 age range. I am past that almost 2 xs. So I'm even happier.
In addition thanks to Pilates I have lost 5 inches around my waist and at least the same around my thighs. I wear two sizes down in pants (Yea!)
But the best part - is how I feel.
I personally would recommend Elizabeth, but all of the women I have had there have been great! So give it a try - there is an introductory package. As for prices - they are one of the best deals in town for private and semi-private series. The 24-hour cancellation policy is the norm at any studio where you have an instructor assigned to you.
I have suffered for years with neck and shoulder discomfort due to poor posture. Two years ago I began taking gyrotonic classes once a week with Kari. I am amazed at the results that I have gained. I no longer have the neck and shoulder pain and my posture is completely different. When I look at photographs of myself just a few years ago, I can not believe how rounded my back and shoulders were. Now I stand so much straighter and have become much more flexible.
Kari's new studio is fantastic. I have worked with two of Kari's teachers as well and have found each of them to be exceptional instructors. Kari and her staff are professional, respectful, disciplined and at the same time make hard work outs enjoyable. They each have many years of experience and continue to enhance their skills with workshops and by sharing their own unique expertise with each other. They are a great team. I have really enjoyed the different focuses that each brings to the studio.
The equipment is state of the art and is kept in great condition. The space itself is bright, modern and well decorated. Parking in that area of the Pearl is very easy.
Overall, I would highly recommend Circle Studio for newcomers as well as individual's who may have experience with other studios. I don't think you can beat the expertise, discipline and caring that Kari and her staff provide to their customers. I am grateful for them every day when I look in the mirror!
Training with Kari, the owner of Circle Studio, is a wonderful experience. After having two children and being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis it was important that I find a form of exercise that I enjoyed. With Pilates, I always leave with more energy and I feel healthier than I have in years. The studio is beautiful and the trainers are fabulous!

I tried both Pilates & Gyrotonic for my knee, some instructors are very helpful and tried to make me understand the concept of those exercise, so I liked it even though prices are high ( recommended private session is $65 ). But something was very wrong, I want other people to know. At second visit I needed to reschedule. Not to cancel. But when I called to reschedule, the owner told me she needs to charge $65.00 even to reschedule because of their cancellation policy. But I was not informed about the policy at all so I told her. She said, ""ok, so next time."" But when I visited the studio, she came to me and said, "" Actually I had to charge you because I had to pay the instructor to keep their job, so please understand, will you?"" She wanted to take money, $65.00. My point is, if she told me the policy, or even her instructor didn't push me to decide what time to come, ( I told him that I wasn't sure wether it's good time for me or not, but he said ""don't worry, I just put your name at 2pm and call us if anything ""!! ) I understand their policy and would be careful. $65 dollar is not cheap. I mean, it's not about money, I liked the exercise. But since I do not respect her way to talk about money money, I do not want to support her business style. I cannot go there, it's very sad.

I 've had back and knee problems for the past few years and after several rounds of phys. therapy, I started Pilates and Gyrotonic at Circle in January. It's by far the nicest place I've found. I've seen a terrific improvement in my balance and also my back and (post-op) knee. I look forward to going there for several reasons: The instructors are caring, consistent, warm and yet utterly professional. No drama - just really good instruction. The studio itself is light, bright, and clean, and it's far enough north in the Pearl that there is ample parking. I highly recommend Circle Studio.

What an amazing studio! I have been getting one on one Gyrotonic instruction at Circle Studio for last six months and I have been very happy with my experience. Circle Studio has very profession instructors with the best training in town. Gyrotonic is a wonderful exercise system that was developed to improve flexibility and strength. I have a job that requires long hours in front of a computer. Gyrotonic has been really great for improving my posture, increasing my flexibility and strength and alleviating the strain from the repetition of computer work. So if you are looking for a great work out that will leave you standing tall and take out the kinks go to Circle Studio.

It is such a pleasure to be a client of Circle Studio, with their unique mix of professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm. Who knew working out could be this rewarding? My original motivation was that I knew I needed to invest in myself but I am very particular about how and with whom I choose to work out. I gave Gyrotonics at Circle Studio a chance and fell in love. My body has never felt so strong, alive, and flexible. Not only did the long term injury to my foot disappear, but so did some extra pounds. I always feel welcome. The passion and expertise the girls have at Circle studio makes all the difference.

Thirty years of running (and not stretching!) had destined me to a life of Chiropractor visits and an inability to even touch my toes! Since joining Circle Studio, starting Pilates and Gyrotonic, I have not needed to see my Chiropractor and have achieved a level of flexibility that I never knew was possible. In addition, my body overall has begun to move with more fluid and graceful motions. Kari and her team are fun, energetic and extremely knowledgeable instructors. I can honestly say that joining Circle Studios was the best investment that I have ever made in my overall health and fitness routine.

I had read an article in the Oregonian about gyrotonics, and thought it would be excellent therapy and balanced exercise for my body, I wanted a comparable workout to my pilates class work. Kari's space is beautiful, serene and when you walk in the door, you are always greeted with a smile. Gyrotonics has made amazing changes in my physical flexibility and movement, deep core work similar to pilates, but teaching/encouraging your body to move freely through imbalance and where you feel ""stuck"". I work with Kari and Erin, they are both incredible instructors, and I highly recommend anyone with or without a pilates, dance or movement background, no matter your age and ability, to explore what gyrotonics and gyrokinesis can do for you.
