If I could rate the staff at Broadway Vet Clinic with ten big gold stars, it still wouldn't be enough! I have been in contact with receptionists, technicians and doctors there regarding their exceptional care and compassion for a poor little abandoned cat whose future would have been very grim without them. I have been treated with genuine friendliness and professional attitudes from each individual with whom I spoke. In my own experience and opinion, these people truly care about their patients. Dr. Carroll had been my vet for many years and he has always shown great skill and compassion for his furry patients. Dixie could not have been in better hands...all of them. Thank you BVC!

I have been bringing my dog and cat here for years, and have always had a great experience. The staff is very kind and gentle with my animals. I have not had any negative interactions with the front desk staff as some of the other reviewers have mentioned - they have always been very friendly and helpful.

The ONLY reason I bring my dog here is because of Dr. Schaad. Unfortunately, I have to get through the front desk girl to get to him. I also come in periodically to purchase flea preventative. The last time I did so, which was just last week, the young woman working at the front desk had her usual smug, ""I hate everyone"" attitude. When I tried to make friendly small talk with her, I was ignored. I mean flat out IGNORED. Could I at least get some eye contact?? I'm so tired of it that I logged on here today to shop for a new vet. I'll take my dog to Dr. Schaad only in an emergency. Everything else, I'm going to see someone else. Too bad.

I could write non-stop about how bad this place is. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. They will keep you guessing so you will keep coming back and spending more and more money. Their job is to diagnose the problem and solve it and in my experience they just treat the symptom and don't look for the root cause. They should be ashamed of themselves. My groomer was able to notice symptoms that the VETS, Yes VETS 4 different ones not once ever thought about. Our dog was treated here for 3 years and after hundreds of dollars were non the wiser.

I understand what the other reviewers are saying about the front end staff seeming un-compassionate or uncaring and sometimes even rude. When my cats both had a bad reaction to their shots, I called there and the receptionist insisted ""That's not possible. There is no way that BOTH cats would have a reaction."" She basically was calling me a liar. They are sisters from the same litter, so it was possible! When I brought them in - they were both running high fevers. It is just one example of how the front end doesn't do Dr. Schaad justice.
What a nice, caring and compassionate man Dr. Schaad is!! When our dog was sick - Dr. Schaad personally called our house several times - even over the weekend - to see how she was doing. He has a very gentle spirit, and a kind bedside manner that makes me feel at ease during stressful times. After spending nearly $1200 one month on our very sick dog - Dr. Schaad gave us multiple discounts when I had to bring the cats back in a few weeks later for their shots. He is truly compassionate towards my animals, but also to us by giving a discount. He realized that we were struggling financially - yet we were trying to be good pet owners.
Dr. Schaad is also not a vet that will do unnecessary vaccines or treatments if they are not needed. The more I read about vaccines, I realize that many vets are simply over vaccinating pets to make a buck. Dr. Schaad heard my concerns, and only gave my cats what he thought was absolutely necessary to keep them healthy. Most vets are just out to make a buck.
Lastly, I have to say that my review is completely from the heart. I was a little taken aback by some of the negative reviews for Broadway Vet. Yes -the front end staff isn't the best - but the care my animals and kind treatment they've gotten from Dr. Schaad has been unmatched. (except Powell Vet Clinic - which is also an amazing clinic, but more expensive than Broadway Vet.)
I would recommend this clinic highly. I have been taking my dog there for 8 years and always received excellent care. My dog has had several surgeries including a neuter, tooth extraction, and several lump removals and he has always been covered for pain control and antibiotics. The staff has always been very caring. I have come to pick him up unannounced and seen the technicians in the back carrying him around in blankets so he didn't have to sit in a cage alone. I have also seen 3 out of the 4 vets and they have all been wonderful and patient. I will continue to use BVC and recommend that you do to!

I have been going to Broadway Veterinary Clinic for about 5 years now and highly recommend them. A couple things that stood out were during a time that my dog was very ill and had to be taken to Dove Lewis for care. The veterinarian loaded me up with meds and IV's to take with me over to Dove Lewis because the cost was much less for me to purchase these at Broadway. That is something I have never had done by any vet and something I would have never thought to ask for.
Also, my dog had an ear infection one time and the Veterinarian let me go in the back to see the infection in the microscope for myself. I thought that was fascinating to see and have never had that type of personal treatment for myself or my pet.

I have taken my dog to Broadway on and off over the years and their staff has become increasingly rude and unsympathetic. There is one receptionist in particular that acts as if you've really disturbed her and she does not have time for you. She has alarmingly bad attitude. However my worst experience was yesterday my dog was in severe pain, yelping practically screaming for no apparent reason. I was terrified and called Broadway to let them know my boyfriend was going to rush her over. When he arrived he was met at the front desk by Marie who before checking to see if my dog was stable demanded that he pay a past due amount of $66 dollars and pay upfront for the visit. While I do not mind paying the past due bill I find it very disturbing that this took precedence over my dogs life and health. I feel caring about animals should be number 1 at a veterinary office not their bottom line. And really $66! That is just not enough to risk my dogs life over. I will never return and urge others to find veterinary care that includes caring and humane treatment. At the very least avoid Marie who would be better suited to work elsewhere with no human or animal contact since civility does not seem to be her fortay.

The vets at Broadway Veterinary Clinic always give us new information about cats that goes beyond what we have learned from reading cat books and websites. They give us helpful guidance and don't make us feel guilty when we do bad cat owner things like letting our cats get chubby or go outside - they just give us gentle advice on what the best practices are, and practical tips for how to minimize the risks. They also give our cats nice compliments and treat them with tenderness, and thorough attention, and they explain what they're doing and what it will cost in a way that shows consideration for our cats and also for us. I always feel good about taking our cats to these vets.
