Bread and Ink Cafe

A little pricey for basic breakfast. But liked what was ordered - the spinach omelet. Liked homemade condiments and smooth coffee. Acoustics was hard to chat over. Busy place so must be popular. Shared business space with the Waffle Window gave other options to eat. Our guest enjoyed the pumpkin pie waffle.

The waitress was straight mean to our daughter. We ordered fine wine and the most expensive food on the menu. The waitress came over and leaned across the table to take the salt and peper shakers from my daughter who was playing with them reletively neatly. She said "these are not toys". We told her we would take responsibility for the mess. She still took the shakers out of her hands upsetting our daughter. We got up and left. She was lame!

The atmosphere is so laid back and looks to be just a regular place. However, when you open the menu and are served your selection, you feel as if you are in a 5 star restautant. The parking completely sucks as it is in the hawthorne district. It is absolutely worth it, though. After your yummy meal, you can go peruse the quirky shops that give the district its reputation.
