LET ME START WITH A PERSONAL CONFESSION: I'm somewhat of a coffee snob. I drink my coffee black, and I have tasted the finest brews from esoteric midnight cups on terraces in Paris to the raunchiest Russian roasts. BUT if there is one thing I have learned about coffee, it is that without atmosphere, company, and service, the quality is negligible. Although Mocha Momma's Good Coffee does not offer the Best coffee, the service is impeccable. The tall, dark-haired, and suspendered young man who served me was, to say the least, masterful; he was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable about different coffees, and when I did finally order my Tater Scramble and an extra dry cappuccino, he executed the order perfectly. Most baristas are unaware of the art of steamed milk -- particularly in cappuccinos -- but this man was enlightened. The microfoam which settled like a dense matzoball at the bottom of the drink sent me on my way from Mocha Momma's Good Coffee thoroughly pleased. Needless to say, this connoisseur will be back for another masterpiece.
We've been eating here at Cafe Allegro since I was in 1st grade... I'm turning 30 this next year. We used to eat there multiple times a year when I was a kid. But, as we grew older, it's a lot less often. The food is still good, but it doesn't really change. So, if it's your first time... you'll enjoy it. Try the calzones and enjoy coloring on the tables!
I really enjoy stepping over to Tea Chai Te because it has such a warm atmosphere, separate rooms (with outdoor seating too), and lots of tried-and-true as well as unique selections of tea and kombucha. Really great place to read, write, draw, or just hang out with friends. The only downside is that it is often crowded.
Food was great. Met some friends on Saturday for dinner and Drinks. All was great! I had the clams. Damn it was good. We also got the caesar salad. Damn..it was good too. One of my friends got the Halibut. A little spendy $26. But, other than that, it was great. Heebs!!
I didn't know this place existed. One my first visit I had a wonderful lunch and latte to go. The food and coffee is excellent as are the prices. I have been back several times and will continue to go. The daily specials are always a treat. I can recommend this cafe to anyone.
Unbelievable find. Sisters coffee made to perfection. Each cup made by the owner exactly the same every day. Quick and easy stop on right side of Barbur on way into town. Small shop, easy to drive by. Recommend giving it a try.
This is old Portland: an older neighborhood cafe in a former Rexall drug store. Excellent pie! Lunch and breakfast fare are tasty. Younger crowd, but everyone welcome. The shop owner is tolerant, friendly and a great cook!
When I want unusual pastry and very fine coffee, Crema is the place I go to read and slowly enjoy a morsel of deluxe pastry with good coffee. It's a neighborhood delight, with new restaurants cropping up all around it.
This is a quaint little diner that serves organic vegetarian food and you don't have to ask if something is vegan it plainly states it on the menu. Very cheap, weekends are busy.
Great local Small Batch Roastery. Very chill vibe with free wifi. The neighborhood is equally great, this place is surrounded by locally owned shops and great food trucks.
