The Outpatient Lab is known by Doctors to not find their faxed lab orders. My Doc told me that, and to have them contact the "on call" doc for another order if not found when I arrive, after driving 50 miles. Sure enough, no order was found and a then call to the "on call" doc, (same doc). So, I gave them a Urine sample and the Lab Technician assured me she would watch for the 2nd order. Days later I find they destroyed my sample and claim they never received either Doc order by fax. "Come back to give another sample" As a career system designer, this is inexcusable for management to have allowed this to continue ignored.
Had arthroscopic knee surgery here last summer. The staff was very professional and made my stay comfortable.
I lost my doctor in NE Portland so I decided to move to the SW sister ship to find a new doctor and be able to walk to my appointments. I had a severe bout of GI trouble and missed my first two scheduled appointments. There was no way to cancel ahead of time without knowing whether I'd be able to go out or not. I couldn't even go out for food or Pepto Bismol. The clinic then moved me to another Doctor, who proceded to cancel me from his appointment book. Yes I am annoying and ill sometimes, but causing some problems in your profit picture is hardly reason to cancel a new patient. I've been without several drugs now, including my pain meds, and have to wait for two more weeks to get in somewhere. If you like crotchety old men and mean nurses the this is the place for you. I think they are all in meano-pause.
