Dr. Demos was wonderful to work with. He is extremly patient and has great chair side manners. In the two years my children were in treatment he never ran late. My childrens teeth look amazing!!!!!

Dental Examination
Preventive and Diagnostic Services – Part of our job as pediatric dentists is to lay the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health. This includes dental cleanings and exams every 6 months, along with hygiene instructions to give children the tools they need to take good care of their teeth.
X-rays
Dental X-rays are a valuable diagnostic tool used to identify decay, extra teeth, bone defects, tumors, cysts and check the progress of previous procedures. Advances in technology now allow for digital X-rays, which reduce radiation exposure more than 50 percent, and produce instant, high-quality images that can be viewed immediately by the dentist and the patient.

Teeth Cleaning
Regular cleanings help keep gums healthy and teeth cavity-free. A dental cleaning includes removal of tartar and plaque and polishing of the teeth to remove stains and prevent further buildup of plaque.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a natural substance that is applied to the teeth to help strengthen teeth and prevent decay. Fluoride treatments are administered at this office as an important component of pediatric dental treatment.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are made of a safe resin material which is applied to the surfaces of teeth (commonly permanent molars) to prevent cavities. The sealant material fills in the crevices of a tooth and “seals” off the tooth from cavity-causing agents like food and plaque. The teeth are prepared for the sealant application and the sealant is painted directly onto the chewing surface of each tooth and then hardens. Sealants are applied in one visit.
Space Maintainers
Sometimes a baby tooth falls out before it should, either due to an accident, decay, or other reasons. When early tooth loss occurs, we use space maintainers to keep adjacent teeth from drifting into the space left open. This allows us to make sure there’s room for adult teeth to erupt when it’s time. Space maintainers are made of stainless steel or plastic and they can be either fixed to the teeth or removable.

I was born in Cuba. When I was 8, my parents moved our family to Spain, searching for freedom from a communist dictatorship. We finally were able to come to the United States when I was 10 years old to fulfill our dream of attaining freedom. I loved in New York City until the ripe age of 26. I received my undergraduate degree at NYU and my dental degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. My post graduate training continued at Stony Brook University School of Dentistry where I was a Fellow at Dental Care for the Developmentally Disabled Program. Upon graduation, I was honored with being appointed to the position of Clinical Coordinator. I became head of the Developmentally Disabled Dentistry program at the University. I was responsible for training the post graduate doctors in the program, as well as the dental students in the school. During these years, I also held a position as an attending at Stony Brook University Hospital, training the dental residents and coordinating operating room admissions for the Developmentally Disabled Program, while simultaneously maintaining a private practice. Somewhere in all of this I managed to get married and have four children. My children, as one would expect, keep me busier than all of my career responsibilities ever did. I love working with children and adults who are fearful of dental work, because once you show them that it can be a painless experience and they no longer fear coming, you have forever changed that person's perception of dentistry for the better. The best reward that you can get is a hug from a kid saying, "That was fun," or an adult that says, "You guys made me laugh, and I didn't feel a thing!" Speaking of fun, on my off time, I love to play with my kids, dance, sing, cook, go on the boat, cruising, and hot tubbing. So don't be surprised when you see that I'm not your typical grim-faced, all-business dentist. Be prepared to smile and feel at home because my assistants and I believe that the quality of the work should be serious while the office environment should be fun and friendly.

Braces
We are pleased to offer orthodontic services for both our patients and their parents! Braces are used to assist in aligning and straightening teeth in order to not only improve appearance, but to also improve a person’s bite. Braces may be used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help with making corrections to a person’s bite.

Teeth Whitening
Cosmetic Services – When a child chips a tooth, we can use cosmetic bonding to restore its appearance. For teens who have recently had braces removed or have staining for any other reason, we offer whitening treatments to give them confidence in their smiles.
