BE WARNED!



I am sharing my experience to help others to avoid similar terrible service from a company that apparently just does not care. Outboard Specialties has not stood behind their work or attempted to satisfy this customer.



Outboard Specialties serviced my boat in January for $2,200 and again in July for $1,900. The July service was for a laundry list of work, including remounting a bilge pump that otherwise worked fine. One of the items was to correct a problem THEY caused during the previous service in January.



After each of these two service visits, my boat was returned with the service completed, but new problems had been created.



Their email reply to my request to make good on their work stated, ..."I believe at this time that we should part ways as contacts as this will be best for the both of us in the future. We will however take care of the new bilge pump that was installed by us under warranty. I will send a guy to your house"...



Wow! The Reputation Management team must have toiled for hours to come up with that solution. Not only do they have no intention of correcting the problems, but they are "firing" a customer and running away???



They did NOT fulfill their promise to replace the pump, and have taken no further action on any of the items to make my boat whole again! They had no problem charging for parts and labor to replace a WORKING pump but making it right was just too much to ask. Perhaps because they were already paid.



I have spent over $700 to correct the problems they created.
