I have used PPL for both doggie day care and boarding, both in the old facility on Yellowstone and in the new 3rd Ave. facility. My dog loves going there--he still gets excited when we drive past the old location. The facility has always been clean and odor-free. My dog has always been returned to me in excellent condition, clean and happy. Due to his life before I rescued him, my dog becomes difficult when under stress. When life has thrown me curve balls, I've found that taking him to the Pet Lodge for day care has helped keep him on an even keel. I strongly recommend this fine facility.
Super fun place for dogs! The staff is very interactive--they even know my pet on sight. They call him by name each time he visits. The best part is how tired my dog is after spending even one day at doggie day care--I have the best dog after he visits the Pet Lodge. Great services!
I recently moved to Pocatello from Oregon and was needing a place to take my dog for daycare. when i went in to the Pet Lodge to see how their facility was,. I had never heard of having to call ahead for a tour before, so i hadn't. they were fairly nice, but i could tell they didn't like me just showing up. i then had to wait in the lobby for about 15 minutes before they let me come back into the kennel, i have no idea what they were doing, or what they were hiding and putting away before i went back there. But i did not like it. Their facility was large, which i liked, but it smelled AWFUL. I've been to smelly dog kennels before, and this was BAD. I wanted to cover my nose. The man who gave me the tour was very friendly, so i figured i'd give it a try. My dog has been in kennels his whole life, he did daycare from when he was a tiny puppy and boards frequently, but when i picked my dog up, a few of his nails were broken and chipped, he had a fat lip and when i got him outside he peed like he hadn't been out of a kennel for hours. I was not terribly surprised, but unhappy nonetheless. I will not be bringing my dog back to the pet lodge, and would advise you to keep looking as well.

We are very sorry that you had a negative experience at the Lodge. We do not require appointments for tours, and provide tours any time we are open. To ensure safety for our clients, guests and staff, we do require that all animals be secure and staff be alerted to the presence of guests in the building. It is not our policy to cut yard time short or hurry through procedures to allow for tours, so yes, sometimes it does take time to prepare the kennel for guests. Pets rarely have "inside accidents" as we guarantee all dogs get to visit our 2 large yards at least 5 times daily, but we admit that they do happen. We pride ourselves on providing a clean, safe, healthy and fun environment for our guests, and are sorry this is not what you experienced during your tour. Your dog's stay at the Pet Lodge sounds less than satisfactory and we hope that you have contacted management directly to voice your concerns so that they may be corrected.
I just love the Pocatello Pet Lodge and my pupies do too they have so much fun there. Everyone is really super nice and caring You kmow they take good care of everyone who goes there
