The Good- The restaurant had friendly, clean service and was very presentable. - The rice was the most authentic I have tasted. The bad- -Expect to pay about $16 per plate which is not bad but you don't get much for what you pay for - We ordered 4 different plates and the food was a little bland.- The beans did not taste authentic, more like out of a can.- You don't get much meat in your plates, we all left hungry.- The food was not eye appealing at all, like mush.I had high hopes for this place from the reviews but I am wondering if the reviews written before had been written by friends of the owners. I wish this place well but would not visit this place again.
The ambience is trendy and fun, and the waiters are speedy and knowledgable. The bar selection is extensive, and is probably a very fun scene on weekends. However, the food was not worth the cost and was borderline subpar. The chorizo fundido is tasty and unique (but beware, no chip refills!), and the tres leches cake dessert was pretty good. However, the entrees were mediocre. The chili relleno was huge but not spicy as promised, just plain and very cheesy. The cheese enchiladas were only fair. The cheese was greasy and they only tasted of tomato and the corn tortillas. Chipotle may have been a better choice.
This place is a knock off hole in the wall version of Margaritia's. The menu is almost exactly the same except the quality is cheaper. You are literally seated on folding tables. Two good things that this place does that Margarita's does not is have a better kids menu, and Mini Pitchers. So unless you live near the Cantina and just don't want to drive to North Oak to eat at Margarita's this is your place but you will trade off distance for quality of food.
We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was full and lively. We were greeted and seated quickly. My mother is gluten-free and the kitchen staff and our waitress went out of their way to help her place her order. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The entire staff is cordial, polite, and friendly. the atmosphere is festive. We will definitely come back!
Agree! very accommodating. We are in AZ and heard that our cousin who lives in KC was celebrating his birthday at this restaurant. We called to make a special request for the birthday guy. Pablo took the call was very polite and helpful. We will have to try their food for ourselves when were in the area.
I have been a customer from the beginning, and the Parkville Location just keeps getting better! Live entertainment on Mondays! You cannot beat the music and food anywhere in KC on a Monday! You must try the chicken flavor of your mexican dish! Frozen Margs are just to die for by the way!
I have never in my years of going to any of the Margarita's had any problem with bad services like the one that was written above. Shame on you you should try again because their food is excellentand has never been a waste of my time..My boyfriend and family all feel the same way.
I went to manny's for my birthday and it was horrible! The service was good, but the food was nasty. It was very greasy and bland deffinetly not what I was hoping for on my birthday. I was very disappointed and I will never eat there again. What a waste of money!
We love Mexican food, everywhere we go, we always look for a good mexican restaurant to be the one we got to. After dining in few mexican restaurants in the kansas city area, Dos De Oros is the one. Excellent food and very good service.
Margarita's is the only Mexican restaurant I go to in Kansas City. The tacos are great, the chicken and spinach enchaladas are awesome!! And the margaritas are always great! The service is always fast!
