I have taken my car here, after it came highly recommened by a friend. My regular mechanic retired a few years ago, so I was on the hunt for a new, reliable repair shop. I am very glad I did! Jim and his staff are really great to do business with. Jim is upfront and honest, no upselling or hard selling here, like I had experienced at other "chain" tire and fix it shops.

My wife and I met Jimmy awhile ago, and were very impressed with the way he runs his business. He has taken care of us, our daughter, our daugher's friends......all of whom would be taken for the ride of the century by any other mechanic shop. Everyone here is treated with respect and fairness. It's refreshing and has earned my loyalty, needless to say. Thanks, Jim!

I rarely take the time to write reviews of places, but I'll make an exception for an exceptional place like Our Team Auto & Truck. I have taken my vehicles there ever since I first met Jimmy, and I am to this day impressed with their service, professionalism and family atmosphere. The prices are unbeatable; these guys are so friendly, honest and GOOD at what they do! All my friends go to them now, and are grateful to know about the best kept secret in Plainfield (and surrounding areas!) :)

I've taken my car to Our Team Auto for years and have always been satisfied with their service, their price and the INTEGRITY. Usually I am there for problems competitors quoted me a much higher price on, and I wouldn't know the difference if it wasn't for honest mechanics like Jimmy. Everybody I've referred there has thanked me profusely as well, having experienced the same excellent customer service and warm, family atmosphere. A couple of months ago I had an emergency issue that I was hoping they could look at for me. When I arrived I couldn't BELIEVE how busy they were. Vehicles filled the parking lot and overflowed into the street, lining the curb. Clearly, I am not the only one who knows they can trust Our Team Auto 100%. And even on a day like that, they STILL found a way to squeeze me in. I'm sooooooo glad to have found this place; I can only imagine the sum total of the money I've saved over the years by going to Our Team Auto instead of any other place in town! I'm telling you people, if you're not already going here, you're likely paying too much for your car repairs!!

I'm not sure what kind of vehicles or trucks Jim is used to working on but I have a feeling they know NOTHING about diesels. We have brought our truck in twice to him now and both times he could not figure out what the problem was and he would blow smoke when we called to find out what was going on. Each visit took 2 weeks long and he would promise us every day that the truck would be finished and it never was. Jim also did work on the truck without consulting us first which resulted in a $3,000 plus bill each time. The second time we brought it to him we specifically stated that we do not have money to throw parts at this problem. From what I understand the main problem with the truck was cracked oil tubs and leaking which should have been fixed the first time. The truck was dying out while on low idle b/c there was not enough oil pressure but he put on a new high pressure pump the first time! On the second visit he had to take the truck to Ford so they could tell him what the problem was. I think this guy is shady and full of it and probably hurting for money right now since he seems to be so worried about getting paid. I am absolutely NEVER bringing our truck to him again. He has cost us over $6,000 b/c he threw parts at the problem (without our permission) instead, he should have told us what we needed to know and not what we wanted to hear. This is by FAR the worst service I have ever received from a mechanic shop in my life! The day he finally called to say the truck was done "for real" this time, he said that he wouldn't give it to us until the next day and that it is locked in his shop with the alarm set! He told us that he wanted to meet at a bank so he could cash the check AND THEN he would give us our truck. Talk about INSULTING! The first time we paid him $3k in CASH! He has implied that I am some kind of degenerate jerk off who would skip out on a bill when we have never given him a reason to think so. We are contacting our attorney to discuss the work they did without authorization because this is not how a proper, professional auto mechanic shop should be operating. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO TELL PEOPLE HOW MUCH THE WORK WILL COST BEFORE YOU DO IT! I cannot believe he took two weeks to fix this truck each time and EACH TIME he stuck us with a $3,000 bill! For what?? We were not even close to being prepared for the total. We had NO CLUE where would were going to end up at and I am absolutely infuriated. Moral of the story... Don't bring your diesel trucks to this guy...

My husband and I have brought our cars to Jim since 1988-89. In the beginning, it was because we were referred to him by my brother-in-law. Then through the years as we get to know Jim, we realized what a good mechanic he was, and we stayed with him. There are many good things I could say about Jim and his shop. The one thing that always comes to my mind is what a honest and fair man he is! Whenever I needed to know if and when I need to have anything done for my cars, Jim would tell me if a problem was serious and needing attention or if it still had some life in it and I could wait a little. Every time I had Jim and his staff worked on my car, I never have to worry if it would get done right; because it was always done right. Now we have moved from IL to AZ, we really miss having a good mechanic, such as Jim, to rely on. I highly recommend Our Team Auto, because they are trustworthy!
