UNBELIEABLY HORRIBLE BRIDAL SHOP AND EXPERIENCE!!!!!
So you are thinking about buying your dress at Michaels Bridal and you hop on here to check out reviews (because no matter how much you think you arent obsessing over your wedding, you are...or you wouldnt be here reading bridal shop reviews) and you are thinking....well, some reviews are really, really awful but it will be 'ok' there are some good ones too!! WHAT IF THIS WERE THE CASE WITH YOUR SOON TO BE HUSBAND??? would you have gone on a date with him (let alone marry him) if half the people who knew him would refer to him as a NIGHTMARE, AWFUL or WORST EXPERIENCE OF THEIR LIVES just because some other people had an okay or even good experience with him??!!?? NO, YOU WOULDNT!!!! so a few people (were assuming they are actually customers and NOT employees or owners of the shop faking reviews to try to save michaels bridals poor, poor reputation) so a few people had okay, or even 'good' experiences. DO you really want to take the risk?? is it WORTH the risk? is michaels bridal the ONLY bridal shop on earth??? NO!! Read the negative reviews and put yourself in the brides pretty white shoes!! michaels bridal and specifically its owner, yolanda, are simply not worth the risk. Poor, poor excuse of a business and she should be shut down. Dont allow them to nearly ruin your wedding also. when i was shopping around I read terrible reviews about michaels bridal...but since i thought i really needed the dress i had tried there i ignored the blatent advice to stay away and thought to myself, well, there were a couple good reviews, lets hope i have a good experience too. man, do i regret that decision! what was i thinking?? sadly i can now add to the extremely negative reviews, i wish so badly i had listened to the bad reviews. it simply wasnt worth it. bad business is bad business and news travels. brides took the time to warn you, be smart and listen. you know how busy you are with your wedding...these brides have taken the time to post reviews warning you of the awful experiences. listen to them. go find another shop, any shop but michaels bridal

My wedding is this coming November 18th. I had found my wedding dress and my bridesmaids' dresses at other locations a couple months ago. While my dress was fine, my bridesmaids' dresses came in the wrong color and the maker was not easy to deal with to fix the problem.
With a little less than two months left until my wedding, bridal stores and boutiques all over the county told us that ""burgundy wasn't an *in* color,"" or that ordering timeframes were too short to accomodate our situation (even with expedites). In short, we were at a total loss....that is, until we stepped into Michael's!
Upon entrance, we were treated with the utmost respect and sincere concern to help us resolve our problem. Yolanda and her fabulous staff helped us to a wonderful array of BURGUNDY bridesmaid dresses available OFF THE RACK! The varying styles and sizes were so classy and several worked perfectly with the old hollywood theme of my wedding!
We owe everything to Yolanda! Now I can finally sleep at night having one more thing checked off the list! I would recommend that anyone just beginning their planning -- or pulling things together last minute -- visit this wonderful establishment. I have even found a fantastic dress to wear on our honeymoon! They will impress you when you go there....they sure impressed me!

I'm a bride to be this coming October and I had found Michaels bridal store driving around. I had stopped in with out and appointment and they set me up right away. I found my dress that day and that was thanks to Yolanda. I even found my
brides maides dresses, flower girl dresses and tuxedos. I love the atmosphere and the staff there. Its very friendly and professional. Also what I love even more is that I found out Yolanda got a fashion degree in London so to me thats top notch!! So if you are looking for a wonderful bridal store check it out and you will love it as much as I do!

I am a mother-of-the groom. A friend of mine told me to go to Michael's and that I would absolutely find what I was looking for.
From the first time I walked in I found everyone there to be friendly and attentive. I never felt rushed or ignored.
I found a dress that I loved and ordered it. I've been back twice for fittings and Yolanda has been lovely and very professional and the dress is fitting beautifully! She has a great attention for detail. I have been very happy!

In a day that I visited 3 bridal shops, Michaels was leaps and bounds better than any of the others. I bought the first dress I tried on there. The person who helped me was fantastic. The other stores I went to tried to upsell me on dresses that I couldn't afford. The sales attendant at Michaels asked me what my price range was and didn't show me anything more than that.
Now, if you're looking for a shop that is like the one in ""Say Yes to the Dress,"" Michael's probably isn't the place for you. Those kinds of places don't even consider carrying dresses in my price range. But if you want a nice place with a lot of dresses and great service, go go Michaels! I'm one of at least 5 women I know who have had great experiences there.
I'm not having my alterations done there, because I have a great seamstress (Styles by Susan Christine) who is very reasonable, but I know a ton of people who have had great experiences with Yolanda.
Don't believe the bad reviews.

Terrible terrible bridal store!!!!!!!!!!
I have been to many bridal stores and this one is by farrrrrrrrr the worst. For one they ordered double your measurements. So you would have to pay double the price to have altered. Never would I go there again or ever recommend to anyone even my worst enemy!!!!!! Plus do not and I repeat do not have them dye your shoes because they will not match not even be close to the color of the bridesmaids dresses. Plus I heard they were eventually going out of business. Be careful you dont want to be like the women who lost their dresses form the bridal store that secretively went out of business.

Please don't use michael's unless it is the last shop that carries your designer. They are rude and unhelpful and could care less about your business. I hope the owner fires everyone in the shop including their manager because she is the rudest of them all. Save your wedding and don't even consider them in the first place.

I was simply thrilled with Michaels Bridal Galleria. I'd visited several other shops and was not treated this way until I went here. Mary Lou was incredible and within minutes she had ""my dress"" in hand. It was so nice to know that the staff can understand what you see yourself in.
The alterations were done beautifully. The cost of the dress was not bad at all, but the alterations were somewhat pricey, so be sure to get an estimate on the alterations before having them done. Just threw me off guard. But, the overall experience rates at a 100% and I am the seventh bride in my group of friends to go here and everyone was pleased! In fact, my friend who will be a bride next year already made her purchase and is now the eight bride I know. Their dress selection is unmatched!

I have read the reviews and wish that my neighbor had read these before they purchased anything.
Nightmare #1 My neighbor (mother of groom) had her shoes dyed the wrong color after specifically buying where she got the dress so that this wasn't going to happen--the stores response? ""You picked a shoe that does not dye well."" Then why didn't the staff tell her that when they were purchased?
Nightmare #2 One of the flower girls lives in Philly and the total to ship the dress is $15, not a big deal and great price right? The instructions were that the dress was to be shipped and received in 3 days, no exceptions. The bride made sure that she had the total correct and two different times was told no problem. A day and a half later (dress should have been in the mail) at 7pm a message is left that the shipping price was underestimated and that the dress would not ship until the total was paid in full!
Nightmare #3 after waiting 4 months for the dress to come in on the mother of the groom, alterations were to cost 160.00 the dress itself was 400.00 ok could be reasonable right? After dress was altered the happy mom put the dress on to find the seamstress cut off too much of the dress and would have to add back material (kind of tacky) wait...it does get better...the back was not taken in enough! The response?""You must have lost weight and that is why the back doesn't fit right!"" and ""in the 20 years of being a seamstress, this has not happened."" She was also told that most don't want their dresses to touch the ground, hello!!! She lifts her arms and the dress comes up to her knees!! I guess she won't be dancing at the wedding!
There are about 4 more problems but you get the picture and with the wedding in 2 weeks, of course it is too late to do anything!

We were extremely pleased with our experience at Michael's Bridal Galleria. Alice was very helpful and so nice, the day we bought the dress. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and happy with our selection. Yoldanda is extremely talented with alterations. Went out of her way to help accomodate a wedding out of town in Canada. Thanks so much. The woman who helped me order the brides maid dresses was also helpful. Thanks again!

Maybe i should wait until after my alterations to write my review, but so far I have loved everything about Michael's Bridal Galleria!
First of all, they were the ONLY place that had the dress I wanted. They had the best selection of dresses around. Secondly, the woman who helped me was extremely nice, made me feel beautiful & comfortable, and was nothing but pleasant to work with. However, one day I went and she wasn't there, and the other women who helped me however was not as nice to me. She seemed annoyed with me, but that isn't a reflection of everyone there. I loved my original saleswoman!
The price of my dress was unbeatable. They talked me down a size, instead of up, and the dress came in fitting perfectly! So I don't think they are running alteration scams like others said. Most places lie and make you upsize so they can get you for alterations. I WANTED to upsize, and they told me not to. I only need the bust taken in an inch or so for my alterations, everything else is perfect. The dress came in when they said it would too, in pristine condition.
My only complaint is when I bought my dress they told me my bridesmaids would save 10% - after I bought my dress they said I need to have 6 or more bridesmaids to get a discount. That upset me, as I only have 5, but I think it will be negotiable. If my experience changes I will change my review, but so far so good for me! Couldn't do this without Michaels! =)

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MICHAELS BRIDAL TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, I WILL NEVER ALLOW ANYONE I CARE ABOUT TO EVER SHOP THERE!!!! THE OWNER AND THE STAFF ARE THE ABSOLUTE RUDEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! THE STORE IS FILTHY AND SO WAS MY DRESS!! I BELIEVE THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME BUT JUSTICE PREVAILED!! THE STORE 'USED TO BE' OKAY, BUT THE NEW OWNER IS THE REASON FOR ALL OF THE PROBLEMS! APALLING, RUDE, SCANDALOUS! DONT LET THIS STORE AND ITS OWNER AND STAFF PUT YOU THROUGH THE HELL IT PUT ME THROUGH! ichaels made it easy!!! I was encouraged to look there by several family members and friends who all have had nothing but great things to say about the place. Its been a year since my wedding and Ive already shared them with 3 girlfriends who have all found gorgeous gowns and the same great service that I was given.
I am active duty and not living in the area, which could have been a disaster as far as fittings are concerned but the seamstress would come in on her days off (when ever I was able to fly in) and even took my petticoat home to steam it herself. This was the only place I had been, that I received the amount of attention Michaels staff had given me. From the couture gown, veil, shoes and jewelry the girls made me feel like a princess. I am sorry to hear that others have had such terrible reviews b/c I can think of at least 8 girls who have been nothing but pleased with their results. The only thing I tell people before walking in the door, dont judge a book by its cover. Its not well decorated and the lighting isnt the best but the service is outstanding!

I had an amazing experience with this store.
When my dress arrived the first time it was missing half the embroidery. The seamstress did 4 full page sketches to return to the manufacturer with my dress so it could be completed. When my dress was finally done we had 2 weeks to finish the alterations before the wedding... and they were done in plenty of time. I had outstanding service throughout the entire process and the prices were quite reasonable.

Friends who shopped here in the past recomended it - but apparently it is under new management? The store really needs a face lift - lighting and paint color make it near to impossible to choose colors. The sales staff were helpful, friendly and patient - but when my dress came in - it was inconveniently 4 sizes too big and what a surprise, the store wanted more than 60% of the cost of the dress for alterations - after feeling very cared for while shopping, I felt very taken advantage of when the dress came in. Then, when my bridesmaids dresses werent the color I expected - I got ""well, its a different dye lot"" then why do they bother giving you the itty bitty little color fabric swatches?!?!? Overall, the prices were reasonable, but watch out for the alteration scam!

Michael's stored my dress and when I came for my first fitting, it was covered in snags and lipstick stains. The alterations performed were so awful that it rendered the dress unwearable. Then to top it off, they tried to blame the seamstresses mistakes on me. I had to find another gown six weeks before my wedding. My experience was awful and expensive. Please shop elsewhere.

This place is the worst. I agree with the other user. The bride decided to get her dress from Michaels and so did the rest of the wedding party. We ordered our dresses on Jan 21 and were told they would be in Mid March. The dresses showed up at the store on May 5th, just 3 weeks before the wedding.
I went for my fitting and explained that the dresses just came in and that I would need the dress a week prior to the event. The seamstress that I was talking to was rude and disrespectful. She didn't want to hear that the dresses arrived late. She kept on stating that she might not be able to have the dress done on time because I waited for the fitting. I didn't wait to get the dress fitted; it was not even at the store.
