I totally agree, this is one of the last places on the planet where I can buy small quantities of metal for my robotics projects. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeble. Much better than previous experiences at this location. Prices rock HD and Low___s.

I had a guy named Neil who was totally cool and courteous, I have no idea what these other people are talking about. Got good service and I barely bought anything. I usually don't write reviews, but someone needs to balance out the vindictive a#@wipes above.

I've used Metals Supermarket several times over the past eight or so years. They've always been helpful and I've never had a problem. I get in, talk to the slaesperson to see if the have what I want or something close, we discuss price and I either buy or keep looking. There are few specialty metals stores in the Pittsburgh that will retail sell small lots of odd items. I really appreciate the service they provide.

I called this place this morning for some information on galvanized tin sheets. The guy that answered the phone was incredibly rude, and sounded totally exasperated at having to answer a question from a potential customer. I explained what use i had in mind for galvanized tin and he went on a tirade about how he "only sells galvanized steel and why would I call him about galvanized tin?!" (short answer, MetalSupermarket employee? Because i might want to SPEND MONEY AT YOUR STORE.)



Avoid this place if possible. If this is the initial experience this company wants a potential customer to have, then I can only imagine anything else would be equally annoying. I won't be giving my money to this guy.

I sent an employee down to talk with an associate and pick up some steel. The associate was a complete jerk to my employee. He provided no help, talked down to my employee, and was overall very inconsiderate. We have a lot of future business that we will no longer take to Metal Supermarkets because of the extremely ignorant associate that we dealt with. I would not recommend dealing with this company to anyone.
