Went to Frenchy's to buy a truck advertised at $4475 on a Friday at asking price. Had planned on picking up the truck on Monday after talking to a lender they refer. I had told Wes, the vice president per his business card, that I'd be back on Monday to get the truck and may pay cash. I left there thinking I had just bought a truck only to find out Monday that wasn't the case. I received a call saying the truck was sold over the weekend. However I was lied to and instead the truck was relisted at $5495. Obviously keeping your word and honoring an agreement seems to be too much to expect. If you can't trust the price to buy a car how can you trust you'll get a reliable vehicle? I wouldn't buy from here with your money.
I was in a situation were I pretty much had to get a vehicle, I looked at the pics online and called ahead, I ask if the truck was ok, generally speaking? He Replied, Yes has a small crack in the bumper, So I took an uber taxi 36 miles the next morn armed with payment. After looking under the truck that I saw on line that looked ok from pictures, I'm seeing New black spray paint thats peeling away from the rust flakes on the main frame, this to me is a trick to conceal condition, concerned I ask about it, he said all detailers do that, ok I think to myself pass over that, but I need a truck, so on to the next, no fresh black paint but I could push my thumb through the main frame rail on this one. I was desperate though, and thought ok, not those, I finally settled upon one after checking it out best I could, It had a half flat tire and the air bag code was on but wasn't rotted scratched and dented so much, I thought this one could work if it drives ok, Plus I simply have got leave here with a vehicle, so I ask if I could drive it up and down the street for a few minutes,? Guy said, theirs no one here to go with you, and we generally want a substantial deposit on them before that? stunned I thought, thats it, you got to run now, all signals was telling me to leave and I finally relented and left when he made it impossible to buy a truck from him. Guess I could have plead with him to allow me to take a quick test drive in the $11000 dollar vehicle? But no, that was where I finally drew the line. I had not read these reviews till I got back home, I think I have dodged a bullet.
I bought a 1997 s-10 in 2009 . It had 67000 miles on it . I just got rid of it . Best truck I ever owned . The salesperson could of been a little more professional but I paid 7500 for a truck that was reliable and besides regular maintenance and a starter had no major issues. That was almost 8 years ago . Guess I got lucky. Idk
In all my years in the lending business, and they have been many, I have dealt with numerous auto sales persons, but to date I have never dealt with such rude and incomprehensible behavior or felt so compelled to write a review regarding one as I do after reviewing the call logs of my staff dealing with Frenchy. We have never dealt with anyone as rude, condescending, or chauvinistic. This man thought that by raising his voice and belittling my staff, then my assistant, he could bully and humiliate them into giving him information he was not entitled to. He called our lending institution demanding a client's account information, then proceeded to "advise" us that we needed to learn the HIPAA laws, HIPAA applies to healthcare, Frenchy, not lending. Have you ever heard of the Privacy Act of 1974? Maybe you should look it up. While you're busy looking up the difference between HIPAA and the Privacy Act, you may want to take a lesson in diplomacy and sexual harassment in the workplace, it doesn't just apply to your own workplace! Raising your voice and insulting strong minded, intelligent women telling them they are stupid and "this is why I deal with men" obviously did not get you anywhere. They refused to be bullied, intimidated with threats, or harassed into divulging Federally Protected information! By the way, the behavior my assistant exhibited in her willingness to assist you by contacting our client herself, in spite of your rude, overbearing, sexist rant which she did not have to endure, is the type of behavior Christ expects His disciples to exhibit! Another lesson you apparently missed.
LIAR!! I called to make sure the truck I wanted was there and in the shape described (the few pictures online were from a distance and taken at odd angles and I was driving over 100 miles to get there). The OWNER told me the truck was in 'immaculate shape' and 'looks like it came from out of state because there is NO rust'. There was rust, flaking paint and the underneath was so rusted out a part in the back end was actually broken off and MISSING!! He told me it was 'no big deal' and it would pass inspection. Next truck I looked at, took for a test drive, the tranny slipped the whole time and by the time I got back (1 mile) smoke was billowing out from under the hood. The only other truck on the lot that looked good (from a distance) said on the windshield 'NO RUST'. There were multiple rust spots that were SPRAY PAINTED over!! When we stated we weren't interested in any vehicle (trying to just leave and not tell him we noticed everything) he got defensive and insulted us. I run a detail shop and have sold cars for a large dealership. This place is the reason people are afraid to buy used vehicles!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought a truck here a few years ago, when I was a dumb teenager. Paid around $7500 for an '01 Ranger, and the ac quit working literally a week after I bought it. Also, every inspection major work needs done on it in the short few years I've owned it. Never going back here.
i bought from frenchy's. i looked online numerous times and i drove there from Indiana. the car was, to say the least, Exactly as described and pictured. Devin helped me get the loan and took all my calls with a smile and great attitude. I met frenchy and he is so nice and it is nice to know a man of his word. I would DEFINITY recomend Frenchy's to anyone, weather your in Pittsburgh or any other state. He has quality used cars with low milage and a great price. GO SEE FRENCY!
I am what would be considered a very seasoned buyer. I am late in age and have been buying cars all my life. I usually prefer to buy private party, however in this case I needed car yesterday! I was left with only one option, a dealer. I looked for about 2 weeks at probably 7 cars I was very interested in. After my preliminary rounds I had it down too two dealers, one was Frenchy's Auto where I met Devin. The other I would like to remain nameless. Devin seemed to be an honest knowledgeable young man. He was very cordial with me even though I informed him I would not be buying that day. Long story short the other dealership had their lot attendant talking to be and he knew next too nothing about the vehilce I intended to purchase. I can honesty say that made me feel really uncomfortable. I decided Devin had earned my business. I went over that Sentra from top to bottom and the only complaint I had was the car was going to need a new inspection in only 4 months. Frenchy's agreed to give me a new Pa inspection. The skeptic I am, I deiced to have my mechanic go over the car after purchase. To my surprise not only was the inspection done properly, the car had new front end parts!( 2 tie rod ends, new CV axle and a new ball joint) I wanted to share my story with any person who is looking for a good used car. I know how hard the process can be. I had a great experience with them and I will send my family and friends! Thank you guys!!!
I hate buying used cars! Until I found Frenchy's Auto. I bought a really nice car from them. I really don't like buying used cars because I get scared I will be taken advantage of being a woman and all. They took a lot of time to show me a bunch of their cars until I found a Ford Taurus that I liked. Anyways I don't write reviews very often, but I am so happy with this car I had to tell people to go there! I will be back Frenchy and Devin! Thanks again!

When I bought my truck from Frenchy""s I asked multible questions , I asked what kind of things they did to the vehicles that they got in from the auction. I was told that the truck I was buying had a safety inspection on the brakes and the suspension.. They said cars and trucks could not be sold with those types of problems. Two days after buying the truck there was a noise coming from the rear end of the truck. Of course it needed brakes and rotors all the way around. My best friend did the work as i watched and when we took the rotors off they were worse than i'd ever seen. About a week later i needed two calipers in the rear. Then about 3 weeks later I was pulling up to my house and heard a big thud in the bed of my truck! The shackle holding the leaf spring snapped . Both rear shackles were so rotted that they had holes rusted through them . I have the pictures of them... I tried advances auto , pep boys , and auto zone for the shackles and no where carries this part so , my leaf spring is resting on the under side of my truck bed where it has left a dent . Now I am out of a car for a week until the part comes in. Moral of the story is that FRENCHY'S LIED they never did a inspection on the suspension because trust me its plain to see how bad they were.

First let me say, I have no idea what these nay sayers are talking about...Frenchy is one of the most honest people/car salesman I know. He's been doing this for over 20 years and knows his stuff! Frenchy's had exactly what I was looking for within my price range and he really helped me out. I purchased my Subaru Impreza from Frenchy's and could not be happier. They took care of everything in a timely and efficient manner and were always very polite and upbeat. If I had any questions or concerns throughout the process or even after, they were more than willing to answer my questions thoroughly help me to the absolute best of their ability (which is always the BEST). As mentioned before...we are buying USED cars...and even the brand new ones (more often than not) will break...IT HAPPENS! I could not be more pleased with the service and product I received and would recommend Frenchy's Auto to anyone and everyone looking to find just the right vehicle!
I purchased a '99 Altima off these guys in January of '09 and it was an awful experience. We took the car for a test drive and everything seemed to be fine except you could tell that the front rotors needed addressed (you could feel that they were warped when you applied the brake). The hood also didn't open and you needed another person to pop it while the other held the release inside. They of course played it off like it was nothing. Hood was stuck because it was cold and rotors just needed turned or $20 each to replace. I was willing to overlook these problems because the carfax came back clean and there didn't seem to be any other problems with the car. Plus I figured it wouldn't cost much to have the rotors fixed/replaced and I thought that the price was pretty fair. What a mistake I made... Three days after driving the car off the lot I get a call from my girl saying that the car was acting up. Went to her place to check it out and found that one of the radiator hoses had come off. After attaching and topping of with anti-freeze the car just didn't run right. Had to take it to my mechanic to diagnose and get a major tune up done (thank god that's all it was, thought the head gasket might have been damaged). Plus my mechanic told me that the brakes and rotors were completely shot. I got this idiot on the phone and he said it sounded to him like someone had "sabotaged" the car. Plus he was upset that I didn't take the car back to him. Why on earth would I take the car to him? So he could put a band aid on for as little as possible and not fix it correctly. After arguing with him and trying to get just some money (not all of it) for the repairs he said he would call me back and never did. I decided to let it go because it was making me so mad to deal with him and the repairs were about five or six hundred (not worth going to court over). Luckily the car has been okay since but it's only been a month. Every time I look at it I get mad. I would not recommend buying a car from this "shady" used car salesman. He has no garage on site. Who knows if he even has them checked out. I should have known better. Anybody can go to an auction, buy a car, wash it and sell it for profit without even putting a dime into it. Shame on me.

This guy frenchy, he thinks he's Soooooooo smart! If you are crazy enough to actually buy a car from him after you have read the reviews, then I guess nothing will change your mind. He used to be a mechanic for General Motors, and can hide big problems that the cars he sells has. If you like losing, then buy one of his overpriced cars and trucks. The guy has a big attitude problem, and thinks he can pull the wool over your eyes. I bet you didn't know that you can hide a lot of things by putting sawdust in the transmission huh? Well he sure does! He's the stereotype of a used car salesman. I bet the reviewer that gave him a 'great' listing is Barry, who does his website for him. If you get a car from him anyway, you have no one to blame but Frenchy and yourself if you don't heed the warnings.

I must say that i am extremely taken back by the reviews i just read. I normally don't write any reviews however, i felt compelled this time. I know about 5 different people that have bought 3 different trucks and 2 cars from him. They where all very satisfied with them and have had absolutely no problems with any of them. My one Buddies has had his truck for about 8 years and has no problems. Frenchy was one of the most honest and trustworthy guys out there. If there where any problem with any cars he sold it happened without him knowing. or i am positive he would of taken care of that. Lets be realistic here we are buying USED cars, cars do break. New or not. I would highly recommend him to anyone i know.

Not to be a francophobe (I actually love French food and culture)..but it's generally not a good idea to trust someone named ""Frenchy"" who sells used cars. Sounds like a house of ill repute. And that is what he is running, but in a vehicular sense. He's got a bunch of used, on their last legs, cars and trucks.
He ""refurbishes' them enough to hide the fatal character flaws, like a transmission that is ready to totally die. He 'fixes' it enough so that it won't croak until you've driven it far enough away that it's too far to walk back to the lot and get your old car back (and your money)! He made sure to clean under the hood because that is how he works, tidy it up and make it all pretty like..so that the customer (victim) thinks that it's all nice and new looking. Then when it dies on you, you will think, ""but this is such a nice squeaky clean car! How could it die like that?"" Easy. Because he fixes it all right...and laughs as you drive away, because he knows he just sold you a junker that has 3 wheels in the grave already. He's the absolutely WORST used car dealer out there, ALL of his stuff is TOTAL JUNK! You are throwing your money away if you buy his GARBAGE. Buyer beware all right!
Solution? AVOID THIS GUY!! He ONLY sells JUNK! Buy from a private party, they usually don't know how to fix major (and expensive) defects like he can.

Let me start off by saying don't bother trying to contact this dealer through email, he won't bother to return it and he even admitted to this when we spoke with him. Also if you call him don't expect to get very in depth questions past yes or no. He'll basically give you as little information as possible and then tell you to just come and look and then hang up on you.
First of all we went to look at 2 vehicles, a jeep gc and a chevy tracker. We we're pretty interested in the the jeep and we were walking around checking it out. After 5 or so minutes of just looking over and staring at us he finally told us it was sold.
After that we asked if the tracker was sold and if we could take it for a test drive. Well apparently he was going on the assumption that we were just young and didn't actually know what we wanted. So he right out told us that we shouldn't even bother wasting his time and gas to test drive the vehicle unless we're sure that was what we wanted.
Needless to say he'll never see our business, or any from anyone we know.
