Tamera is my stylist and has been prior to Comfort Zone opening. When I found out she opened up Comfort Zone I was very happy for her to be accomplishing her goals. I've been going to Comfort Zone for many years and have always had a pleasant experience when I go. I've always been acknowledged as soon as I walk in the door and have been very pleased with the results each & every time I've left the salon. I have referred many of my friends/ family to Tamera. As far as the other stylists, while waiting for a chair & while getting my hair done I've seen other clients being styled & I've never seen anyone dissappointed by the outcome. Tamera also did my hair & my daughter's hair on my wedding day & she opened the salon early to accomodate me. I am very thankful for that. I am pretty sure if anyone has had any problems in the past, if they were brought to the owner (Tamera's) attention, she would have addressed them. If you're not happy with your results, speak up and your issues can be resolved, you are a paying customer. As far as prices, you can always ask about the price prior to sitting in the chair, that way you're not surprised by the price. They even offer discount days, student discounts, & UPMC discounts & I recently received an email for a Mother's Day discount! You can't please everyone even when you go above & beyond!! I can say, I've been very pleased!!! Great Job Comfort Zone!!!!

Woman who did my hair put a whole tub of grease in it making it stiff. Got a reg press out and my roots are still thick. To clip my ends was 15 DOLLARS!!!! Full price its almost 60 dollars to get a wash, curl, and clip! OVERPRICED AND OVER DONE!!! My hair is stringy that's how greasy it is!!!

I've been going to Comfort Zone for 3 years. I am a college student looking for inexpensive yet quality hair service. The owner of the shop is a really stylist. I go there for basic needs such as a blow dry and press. I even get my eyebrows done from time to time and the owner does them. My experience has been pleasant at the Spa.

I went to this spa to get my first eyebrow wax, and my skin was ripped off in four areas, near both eyebrows. It is truly a shame that they have people performing services in which they are not true professionals. Atleast have the decency to tell me that you accidentally ripped my skin off after it has occurred. It was wrong for the people here to even let me pay and walk out for a horrible service. Of course I wouldn't know what happen beforehand because I never got a wax before and I though the pain was normal. It wasn't until I got home that I realized what was really causing all the pain. I am also very upset at the poor customer service I received when I called back to let someone know what happened. If you want an eyebrow wax, please go somewhere else.

I agree with Christina. The shampoo girl is EXTREMELY rough on the head. Even after a relaxer. Those acrylic nails are pure HELL on the scalp. She was even rough after a relaxer. She left my head feeling as though it was oozing (probably because she doesn't base the scalp very well either and I had burn scabs the next day). Other than that, the styling is pretty decent. The products used are good BUT if you aren't the first appointment of the day you will wait! They book in 30 minute increments which is not doable if you're doing a relaxer or another service other than wash and curl. Every service doesn't take 30 minutes. As a result sometimes the quality is rushed. Sometimes you're left with your head hanging in the shampoo bowl for 20-30 minutes and this is NOT for a deep condition or after a relaxer. If I have to wait longer than 2 hours to be styled then I do not feel I am being served. On the other hand, this salon is much more inexpensive than its Oakland neighbor Mark Anthony. This is salon is good for a college student on a budget and expendable time but not for a professional with a schedule and a need for quality.

I went to the salon and it wasn't a very good experience. When I first walked in the shampoo girl was very rude and ignored everything that I said to her. Whe she was finished shampooing she left my head sore and very red. Went to get my hair done, Dar I believe her name is did a horrible job on me and my friends hair. The only good thing was when my friend got her nails done.

In response to this review, every client recieves 2 washes and a 5 minute conditioner...NO exceptions. Also we allow NO children unless being serviced which there are signs posted in 3 spots in the salon one of which is on the front door. That has always been a rule. There has NEVER been a client that left out with a wet head! I'm not sure if this person has a personal grudge against someone in my salon, but that situation never occurred. We display excellent customer service with every client , that's why we are paired with the B. B. B and NO other complaints have been filed. We would appreciate you trying the Comfort Zone Salon on your own and experiencing the difference! Thank You for your patronage! Receive 10% off shampoo/set or more when you mention this review.

DO NOT let the name fool you. This hair salon is no comforting place. I made an appointment for noon and showed up 5 minutes before. When the stylist was told I was there, she rolled her eyes and sighed not bothering to acknowledge me. When she was done with her client, she proceeded to have lunch while I waited browsing through outdated magazines. There were children running all over the place, fighting, eating, and acting up. An assistant pointed me to the back to wait for a wash. I sat there for another 15 minutes while the stylist chatted and laughed it up. After a terrible wash job with one shampoo and quick conditioning I had to wait again while the stylist yapped it up on her phone and did a half-hearted job on another client. I had enough, paid for the wash and left with a wet head. If you're planning on spending a day at the salon with unprofessional stylists, rude stuff, and an inattentive owner, this is the place for you.
