Classy cab arrived late and in a “hooptie” with a friend - waved them by and called UBER...Arrived in 10 min....missed the wedding....Thanks to Classy Cab and our decision to call them....

Totally unreliable. This company does not take reservations. Their poor, on-the-fly operations left my 18-year-old daughter stranded and alone at night in an unsafe part of town for over an hour: Called an hour in advance as requested by the company. They gave no indication of a problem. When the cab was about 15 min late, the company was called and said my daughter’s ride was the next to come up. Cab did not come a half hour later or an hour later. During this time, called the company another three times; at this point the story change to “no cab was available” or “wanted to go that far out of town”. Yet the pickup location was no more than three minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh across the bridge in Oakland. With no solution in sight, more than two hours after the original call, my daughter arranged for a friend to drive across town to get her out of that situation. I strongly suggest steering clear of Starr Transportation Group, specifically, Classy Cab and Veterans Taxi.

*Let me start by saying I have...

*Let me start by saying I have no affiliation or family member involved with this company.

My car was broken and I needed a ride to work. I was afraid I would be treated to the now infamous "Pittsburgh taxi" timeliness and be late.

I called at 8am for a 9:10am pickup. I was on hold for less than a minute, the lady answering the phone spoke clear English and was extremely polite and efficient.

The cab was not only on time, but 10 min. early!

My cab driver, Charles, was incredibly polite and a delight to chat with. He took my advice on the best route to go without a hint of attitude. I wish I could ride with him every day!

I thought classy cab would be more expensive, judging by its name, but it was the same price as any other cab.

I'll be recommending this company to all my friends and clients : )

They were prompt and courteous...

They were prompt and courteous and I would use them again in a minute! Clean cab too! I felt like a rock star and the price was competitive

Ripped Off

I paid cash for a cab ride to my doctor appointment on August 10, 2011. The cab company took a large sum of money from my account which was unauthorized. It also resulted in receiving an overdrawn fee of $35.00. Gave plenty of notice for the company to resolve this with having to file a fraud affidavit with my bank. Beware to Amy future consumers. However, the driver, Al was prompt in picking me up and was very courteous.

Didn't want me

I called on a Saturday night in order to use a cab for lift after Yellow Cab once again proved useless. I was told that Classy Cab was better. Boy was I wrong.

I was told that they wouldn't drive 'that far' to get me. I live in Regent Square. Regent Square! That's not far out of the city at all.

I guess they are one public service that isn't interested in servicing the public. Oh, or making money.

Wouldn't Pick Us Up

We called Classy Cab to come and take us to the Airport. We are in McKees Rocks, very close to Robinson. They told me that they don't come out to my area. So I called Yellow Cab, they took me to the Airport and did a pretty good job. Not sure why they couldn't drive me, but whatever, I found someone who would.

Curteous and timely

They are 30-40% more expensive than a normal taxi (although they are still metered,) but they answer their phone, have clean new cars, are friendly, and show up on time. Try doing that trick with Yellow Cab.

Class-less: I got blamed for their mistakes!

At 10:20am I called, told the man on the phone I needed a cab @ 11:30am & gave him the addresses where I would be picked up (5th Ave) & dropped off. He put me on hold, then a (different?) man picked up & asked if he could help me. I repeated myself, we discussed whether that was downtown or Oakland, & he said he'd have a cab pick me up in 20 min. I replied that I needed it at 11:30am, to which he said ok.At 10:45am I was where I was due to be picked up, but since I had time I went up the street to get a coffee. At 11:15am: I received a call from Erin @ Classy Cabs. I didn't reach my phone in time so at 11:20am, back where I was to be picked up, I called Erin. She told me that the cab had already been in my location, I wasn't there, I wasn't answering my phone, so the cab driver left. I reminded her that I specifically asked for the cab at 11:30 & it wasn't time yet. She replied, ""You never said 11:30."" I assured her I had. She checked her records, then told me AGAIN that I ""didn't tell anyone 11:30."" I told her that I'd told 2 men, at which point she contradicted me again saying that was impossible b/c only 1 man worked there. I said that I'd told him twice then, & wanted my cab to which she agreed. At 11:45am she called again, telling me the driver was on 5th St. & I should come outside to meet him. I reminded her that I was on 5th AVE, had told her that, & the man I originally spoke to. I told her to cancel the cab. At 12:36pm I got home via another service when Erin called asking if I was in the cab yet. I calmly reminded her I had canceled. She said, ""I don't remember that."" I told her it was just after they realized he was on the wrong street. Her response: ""I didn't hear that."" I quietly said, ""Well, to be honest, you guys haven?t listened to much I?ve said today.? She promptly hung up on me. Classy Cabs (Erin, in particular) showed a severe lack of professionalism.
