From beginning with making an appointment to picking up my car, everyone is very professional and knowledgeable. Any questions I might have are always answered so that I can understand. I highly recommend Bridgeville automotive to anyone who is looking for an honest and fair priced mechanic.
A lot of us don't know much when it comes to our very important vehicles that we really can't do without. When you're looking for a mechanic the thing that matters possibly most of all is the integrity of the person.
You don't want to get jerked around, you don't want to get lied to, you don't want to get scammed. Ideally, you just want to pay the person a fair transaction to get the job fixed as painless as possible.
Jim is that guy. My family and I have been going to Jim's for a decade and he's always been fair and communicative and reasonably priced.
Not only that, but Jim has stood up for his customers in the court of law on a few occasions (my mother being one of them) fighting other automobile shyster who have at one point or another tried to defraud his customers. If there is anything this guy hates, it's someone trying to be dishonest.
I will note however Jim and Pals are pretty high in demand and the waiting list can be high at times. If you only have one car and can't work out some leapfrog approach with a friends automobile the wait may be too long for you. Go ahead and call to find out, but it usually takes at least a weeks advanced notice.
I went for the first time on a recommendation for my car inspection. Cost me over $500.00 for the front brakes and they started squeeking within a few days. I took it back and they again replaced the brakes and the very next day the brakes started squeeking again. Never went back since I don't have the time to keep doing this. Also they charged me for new rotors that had only light surface rust and just needed cut and weren't even scored. I had purchased new rotors on this car only a year and half previous and drive very little. The bill was over $700 when all was said and done. When I was there they tried to get me for $100 to polish my headlights but I declined. My advise to any new customers is to stay away unless you don't mind spending your hard earned money.
We serviced this car originally on 4-29-11 and the vehicle returned on 8-8-11 with a different brake problem that we repaired (which I thought was corrected due to no customer contact to us since then).This review was posted on 4-24-12,and I was just made aware of this customer's dis-satisfaction and negative posting 3 days ago. Since then, I have called both contact phone numbers repeatedly, in an effort to ask customer to return the vehicle to our shop to be checked/repaired for no charge or either take the vehicle to a shop of her choosing to be checked/repaired at our expense if deemed necessary---the customer has not returned any of my messages. I will continue to attempt to contact her to resolve her vehicles problem, and hopefully restore her confidence in us. I wish that I had been notified in a more timely manner, so I could have put her concerns to rest earlier. I hope to contact her....Thank You, Jim Altvater, Owner ASE Master Certified Technician.
I took my car in for a new battery to find out that I was due for inspection. Jim fit me in within a few days. I wasn’t able to get the inspection after getting a new battery. When I came back, I had looked at his video to find out that he takes extended warrantees. I was able to get so much more done on my car in one visit which saved me so much time.
Jim also discovered that Walmart put an incompatible tire on my car. Not only did Jim speak to the manager, but I was able to get my money back for the bad tire. That bad tire could have caused major damage to my car.
Jim’s team of technicians answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable with the work they were doing. I have another car that needs tires. Walmart is no longer an option. Bridgeville Automotive is truly a “one stop auto shop”. I highly recommend them.
I have been getting my vehicles serviced at Bridgeville Automotive since 1995. I have since gotten married, and my husband gets his car serviced here as well. We have also recommended Bridgeville Automotive to my sister and brother-in-law, who both now bring there vehicles here. I think this is the greatest compliment that you can pay a business. You value and trust in the business so much that you refer family and friends.
Bridgeville Automotive is a smaller service station. Jim and his staff get to know you as people not as numbers. The staff here also understands that customers are extremely budget-conscious these days. They actually only do the repairs that are necessary at the time and offer suggestions as to what would need to be done "down the road" so customers can budget accordingly. AND even in the case when extensive repairs need to be done they strive to get your vehicle back to you same day. Finally, I am a woman and am treated with respect. Things are explained to me. I am never spoken "down to". I have frequented the serivce deparments at dealerships for warranty work and have often found the folks there to be condescedning towards me. To sum up this review, you matter at Bridgeville Automotive. You are treated well...like family
