Was so excited to get my dress from here because I knew so many people who loved theirs. Unfortunately, 2 months after getting my dress, my fiance called off the wedding. So in addition to losing a deposit for the venue, I also was cut no break by Bridal Beginnings. They said it happens all the time. Oh how nice... so you are constantly kicking newly dumped girls when they are down at one of the most traumatizing/devastating times in their lives?? I offered for them to keep my deposit (over 50%) and to have the dress just cancelled. Apparently that is against policy and "no company does that". Thanks Bridal Beginnings for making my nightmare worse. Will NEVER recommend anyone to go here!! Bridal boutiques are a dime a dozen.



Alterations disaster

When I first went in to try on dresses my consultant was wonderful. I found a beautiful dress and it fit my body perfectly. I ended up having 5 fittings at Bridal Beginnings because I was losing a lot of weight. When my mom came with me to a few of my fittings I felt like I got a lot more attention from the seamstress. When I was by myself she hardly gave me the time of day.

On my final fitting the top of my dress ended up fitting horribly. She tried to fix it during the appointment because i was taking it home that day, but it still wasn't looking right. Her next appointment was there and even though my dress didn't fit she rushed me out of the appointment. My wedding was in 3 days! I left the store and immediately started to cry. I ended up going and getting the top fixed by another seamstress. If your looking for a good seamstress and good customer service do not get your alternations at Bridal Beginnings. Go to a private seamstress. Less expensive and better service!

Dress of my dreams but that's it.

I unexpectedly found the wedding dress of my dreams here. The consultant stayed within my budget and was very helpful. However, everytime I came back to the store (with an appointment and my checkbook for quite expensive alterations) the staff at the counter seemed so annoyed and bothered by me. I've seen them act this was to others. I was also pushed into a veil and headband I didn't want being told it was the only one that matched my dress. I ended up buying another headband and veil at clarissa boutique that actually matched. When it comes to alterations I paid $700 on a $1400 dress, no length even needed taken off. The woman who did my alterations along with 2 of my bridesmaids was horrible! She refused to listen that I wanted to wear my bra and a week before the wedding had ripped the lace in my dress and it didnt fit at all. I was a wreck. She called me a pain and accused me of gaining and losing weight (a miracle that that would happen at the same time). The buyer Lisa was a lifesaver and came in to help show the seamstress how to fix the dress. I was told it would be ready the day before my wedding. Nothing like the stress of not knowing if your dress will fit or not u til the day before!!! The day before the wedding it was still wrong! I spent 4 hours trying to get it fixed. Lisa luckily saved the day as best she could but somethings were never fixed. The wedding day came and my dresses eye hook had not been reinforced which caused the dress to bust open along with several buttons (glad I paid $50 for that). The bustle wasn't finished and I ended up with a half bustled dress for the wedding. This was the dress I always wanted but could have got it elsewhere without the hastle and cost. And it's just great to walk out of the store the day before your wedding to hear the snobby staff say "glad we are done with her and her cheap wallet". Who do you think you are?!?




It's funny what you can hear when people don't think you're listening. Only shop in this store if you agree with the staff that thinks no black people have any money. Shocking that such judgement can come from a bunch of middle aged women who work on retail.

To all of you soon to be brides (whether you are in Pittsburgh or not) I would highly recommend purchasing your dress at Bridal Beginning. From the start of my experience to the finish the customer service I received was truly ""over the top."" I had been to many bridal boutiques in Pittsburgh (my hometown) and Atlanta where I currently reside. After trying on over 35 dresses, Dorothy, the consultant at Bridal Beginning brought me the first and last dress I ever tried on. From start to finish my experience was nothing but superlative! It meant a lot to me to buy my dress in Pittsburgh, even though I anticipated difficulty in setting up the multiple fittings and transporting the dress, however, the team at Bridal Beginning not only eliminated those concerns but truly went above and beyond to make it a fabulous experience! I want to give special thanks to Marianna (the highly talented seamstress), Lisa (the manager) and of course Pam (the owner) for walking my Mother and I through this step-by-step.

I felt like I was at Kleinfelds!

I first visited Exquisite Bride and was not treated well. It did not feel special.
I am from Washington DC (attending school in Pittsburgh) and my parents urged me to purchase my gown closer to home. I went into Bridal Beginning by myself just to browse. There was a consultant available to help me so I began looking at dresses. Lisa was so patient and energetic. She narrowed in on exactly what I was looking for. Once we found my dress, she did not pressure me.
I was able to get my entire family to come for a visit and brought them all to Bridal Beginning. We showed them a few dresses and then the one I had chosen. They all loved it, even my father.
I was measured and order the dress.
It came in last week and fit PERFECTLY!
I needed no alterations.
I am so pleased with my experience from start to finish!

I can't complain about the ser...

I can't complain about the service I received when I went to pick out my gown. Karen was good - not spectacular, but good - and better than I expected from the reviews I read. I found my dress quickly and she definitely played a role in that by listening to my thoughts.

Move forward 7 months when the dress finally came in (after it was promised to be delivered in 6 months)...First of all, I live out of town, called a month ahead and they were still making a big deal about trying to "fit me in". I went with my mom to try it on but was not taking it with me so that I could go with my dad and have him pay for it the following day. The dress was in a nice zippered, heavy garment bag. Was it in the same nice bag when I went to pick it up? NO. It was in nothing more than a large pink garbage bag that you would expect to receive a prom gown in. I would expect more when paying over a grand for a dress and don't understand why they actually switched it.

Here we are 2 weeks out from the recommended by my seamstress (who contracts with Exquisite Bride), I called Bridal Beginning to discuss taking my dress to be steamed before the big day. When I confirmed that I purchased my dress from them but did not receive alterations there, she immediately switched tone and said she'd need to have someone else call me back. During the 2nd phone call, I was told that it would be a $100 charge for steaming!!! When brides spend a great deal of money on their gowns, you would think the least they could do is steam a dress free of charge regardless of whether or not you use their alterations dept. MaybeI'm out of line thinking I shouldn't have to pay, but apparently this is the service one will receive at Exquisite Bride and I'm sure other bridal salons who obviously offer much higher quality customer service!

You may be lucky to find a decent sales rep like I did, but overall customer service is terrible!

Beautiful Dresses

I had a very good experience when purchasing my wedding gown. My consultant was very helpful in finding what looked best on me. I tried several dresses on and then reviewed the ones I liked. It was about a 2 1/2 hour process from start to finish. It was a very crowded day, but I was made to feel welcome from the minute I walked in the door. I read some of the other reviews and was hesitant to go to bridal beginning, but I am glad I did. As far as the complaint from hch03...really, someone took a drink into a room with dresses (white dresses) worth thousands of dollars?

My Gown was Beautiful!

I purchased my bridal gown at Bridal Beginning and was treated very well from my 1st visit all the way to my last fitting.
Eddie helped me find the perfect gown and was very patient.
I knew that alterations , if done well, are expensive anywhere. but I felt they were not too expensive for the way my gown ended up looking. It was a perfect fit with a beautiful bussel

Horrible Customer Service

I went in to shop for Bridal Gowns, I waited at the front desk for 5-10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there, the one lady at the front desk was on the phone but several other employees walked by without saying a word. When I finally did get checked in she said someone will be with you shortly, 25 minutes after my appointment time the consultant introduced herself and her demeanor was as if we were the late ones. She was beyond rude to my 3 bridesmaid, she asked what were
