Jim Jenkins Nursery is the best ever. I travel almost an hour to shop there because they have a great selection and very high quality plants, shrubs and flowers. Everyone there is always helpful and very knowledgeable. Everything I have ever bought there thrives in my garden. Great!
Quality nursery products!
Love the selection.
I purchased firewood No problems......
How I made it out of here without spending an entire paycheck and redoing my entire yard is beyond me... This place is awesome. I love a locally owned lawn and garden center so after driving past Jim Jenkins several times, I figured it was time to stop in. This is the Energizer Bunny of lawn and garden stores. It just kept going and going and going and going. I found the clay pots and a whole lot more. The prices are fairly reasonable.I thought I was done shopping until I saw the huge selection of pre-sprouted veggies and herbs. I poked around there for a good bit before reminding myself that I'd just be feeding the dang deer and not myself if I purchased any. On my way to the cashier, I stopped to check out their variety of succulents that were potted in adorable little planters... realizing the infamous Mt. Lebanon deer would not eat these, I grabbed one for my patio and silently told myself that my work here was done. I love shopping local and this place is just awesome. They also have plenty of items that would be great for gift-giving.
Keep in mind I am not a garden aficionado by any means, so this review might not be very knowledgeable. All I know is that I had a friendly worker help me pick out some flowers. And now they're planted in my garden and look lovely.
If you want good quality gardening products, you need to stop here. From the flowers to the perennials, and everything in between, the selection is amazing and the quality is so much better than your big box stores. You can tell the owners take pride in their business by the knowledge they can provide and the appearance of the whole place. I wouldn't shop anywhere else! Looking forward to spring and landscaping our yard!!
After being frustrated with the knowledge and variety at the Big box stores I decided to see what a local garden shop had to offer. Talk about variety this place has it, the knowledge of the staff is second to non and really made me feel confident in my own gardening abilities since the stuff I have planted is now becoming overgrown I needed the nudge to prune my stuff myself. They also have a vast array of Organic gardening products with staff who know what to recommend for various types of problems you are having with a species of plant. I will say though that their prices are a little bit higher for most of their plants but they appear to be of better quality. The mulch that they offer for delivery is also much more expensive than other places around the region. I will be coming here more for the variety, quality and expertise of the staff.
I LOVE Jim Jenkins Lawn Center!! This place is great! They have an outstanding selection of perennials and trees. Although they do have annuals, the selection is not as vast as other greenhouses that specialize only in flowers. Their plants are healthy and hardy. I often see Jim himself walking about. He is always willing to give advice or answer questions. They have a wide variety of mulch, topsoil, and manure. It is all very reasonably priced. You can get it delivered or pick it up yourself with a truck. The store front is loaded with different items for your gardening needs. Although this may sound silly and tacky to some, one of the best features of this lawn and garden center is the gnome selection. They have so many different kinds of gnomes: big ones, little bity ones, Steeler ones, and other themed gnomes. With my husband being an avid gnome guy, I always can swing by to pick one up as a fun surprise. I did not give this store 5 stars for two reasons: 1. pulling in and out of this place is INSANE! On busy weekends they have a police officer directing traffic, but typically you are on your own. Keep your fingers crossed as you leave. and 2. I think their prices are a bit more expensive than other places. Although they have a lock on the USC market, I think that with some searching you could find other places that are not as pricey. The good news is if you sign up for their email alerts, you can usually get a coupon.
Quite a variety of annuals and perinnials. In addition a wide assortment of trees and shrubs, even blueberry bushes. I liked the fact that they had shopping type carts to do your shopping with. They also have a shop with all the gardening supplies you can think of. Prices are also reasonable.
