C---- was arrogant and uncommunicative. I am an investor with continuous work available. We spoke on a Monday, he indicated being able to meet on a Tuesday or Thursday that week. He couldn't meet on Tuesday, then texted on Wednesday being able to meet Thursday. no word about time. Then Thursday mid-day he asks to meet /Friday/ for a walk through. In that same conversation, I said I've got my own schedule, and explained that I can't be put on an hour's notice for meetings. He blames me instead, changed his tone, and said that if I couldn't sign a contract and /start/ on Thursday then he's going elsewhere (wait, he only just stated coming by on Friday, now all of a sudden he wants to sign a contract on Thursday?!!?). How nonsensical, and he blames me for not being uncommunicative and 'ready'. Our conversation is documented. He brags about being in 'this business' for 20 years and complains about wasting time chasing leads or not being paid. Yet, he disrespects my time in this way. I don't care what is the quality of his work, he missed 20 years' worth of lessons in people and client relations. Maybe then he'd have a better time getting more 'quality leads' and paying customers. And oh right, he points people to his website for references, but most of the referrals were posted on October 26, 2016. Hmm. They also 'screen' all reviews posted on their website. I'd take caution and insist on getting real numbers to speak with real people about their work. And, I've been able to find great workers from websites like Thumbtack.com, where people bid for work and have reviews from verified customers.
