Amazing crew of PGHers! They know how to share this gorgeous city and enlighten travelers about the the other side. Face it, we know Heinz, competitive sports, the Warhol and pierogis, but there's Drap Art, the Duquesne Incline, canoeing, the Aviary, the Nationality Rooms, the wonderful people and family-owned places on the Strip! We memorize facts: there are now 445 bridges in the city. The city is situated at the convergence of three rivers: the Ohio, Allegheny, and Monongahela. There are 90 neighborhoods. The old steel capitol of the world has evolved and is now a mecca for education, medicine, technology and tourism.
My room was actually great. I was told the whole hotel was smoking, however, they would make sure they got me a room that wasn't smelling of smoke and they did that. My fridge stopped working and they replaced it and the GM listened to any concerns I had. The people next to me were a bit noisy and she didn't hesitate to go directly to the people and anonymously tell them of my complaint. I stayed for 3 weeks while my apartment was undergoing construction and if I'm ever in a situation where I need a place again I will DEFINITELY go there again!
On a four-day trip to the city in early September, I found the Biergarten on the roof of the marvelous Hotel Monaco and verified Pittsburgh is still all about homemade, ethnic, make-you-swoon food and libations. And more. The decor is fun and eye-catching; accommodations to-die-for. Best Old Fashioned here!
Kid friendly, large indoor pool, free shuttle, free breakfast (above average), free internet, every room is a suite and as always the employee's are excellent. This hotel is my first choice when traveling through Pittsburgh.
I stopped by to take a look at the suites at Friendship and was amazed that in such a busy area they have a quiet street with plenty of free parking and access to stores. The Victorian buildings are clean and large.
They let me check in early, their breakfast was great, and my girls loved their tea service. And the room we stayed in (2 bunk beds) was super cute. I'd stay again in a second. Five stars for Friendship Suites.
I used Salvatore's for a graduation party and was very pleased. Courteous and professional staff. Food was delicious. Very reasonably priced. Clean. Wonderful service
