There are six asian restaurants in this area and this is by far our favorite. While it does not have quite the ambiance of a couple of the other Asian places nearby, it is a very comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The sushi is very fresh and well made, with very high quality ingredients. Their Boston roll and Tai Pei roll are special favorites. The chinese food is always hot, fresh and delicious. My family loves all the food - moo shu, General Tso's (the best anywhere), beef and broccoli, sweet and sour pork and chicken, shrimp with snow peas, fried rice - all great. And they have delightful "Chef's Suggestions" like Imperial Beef, Crispy Prawns, Peking Duck and even flounder, shrimp and scallops and Filet Mignon, all done with a chinese flair. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and service is very good. If you like asian food, try this palce... you'll like it! (The take-out is great too!)
There are 4 Sesame Inns in Pittsburgh and I am going to rank them accordingly here on the consistency of their food. This location on Washington Road is the original and they consistently have good food. You know how some restaurants are hit and miss -- these guys are always dead on! The second location I would recommend is the one in the North Hills, then the one in McMurray, and lastly the one in Station Square. The ones in Station Square, I swear, are the loose cannons -- they just do things however they feel like it. Their dishes are prepared differently than the other ones. So yes... Sesame Inn on Washington Road is where it's at!
I've been there a few times and it's never busy. I'm not sure if it's just the time we go there or if they get most of their business on the weekend. Either way, it doesn't really matter, just strikes me as odd. The server is very nice, always says the same things though. The egg rolls are nice and crispy on the outside, but mushy on the inside and I don't like that. The restaurant needs an update too.
this is by far, without a doubt the best chinese food in the area. Your review was absolutely ridiculous and lacked any substance whatsoever. My garlic sauce was hot? dude didnt you ever eat soup. give it a little blow and enjoy. seriously dont listen to this fool. tai pei is one of the only chinese restaurants in the area that CHINESE people eat at. thats got to tell you something.
The place was recently remodeling, and now it looks so relaxing! The price was great and the food was quick and fresh. They had the best General Tso's chicken and Tofu. They can make the spices according to your taste, it was so impressing. The Taiwanese Beef Stew Noodle Soup was just like in Taiwan. I miss all my Taiwanese Food, but now I found the right place!
This is an excellent Chinese restaurant. Very well worth the prices. I've never had better orange beef or Chicken Lo Mein anywhere else. Highly recommended. Casual atmosphere, very clean, very attentive and accomodating staff. Food is presented, not just served. Try the egg and vegetable spring rolls too!
I absolutely love chinese food and have been pretty much too all of them in the Pittsburgh area. This spot beats them all hands down. The food and service is exceptional and the prices are definately reasonable. (Make sure you try their egg rolls)
this is one of the best restaurants in the area, they offer fine dining and all the amenities you need, if you love chinese food the atmosphere here is all about that, please try this restaurant as you will not be disapointed if you do.
Hands down best Chinese in Pittsburgh. The Cashew Chicken is AMAZING. We no longer live in that area, but we still make a point to go here every other month or so or get it to go and bring it home. So so sooooo good.
LIANG HUNAN IS MY FAVORATE!!! I love the duck, the lamb. And they delivered to my hirise! Being bed bound thatsa must! They are very respectful and I recommend it to all the disabled and elderly.
