I have had my daughter at Interplay for 3 years, it has been a rocky road, but the price and proximity to our house kept us there. In that time, we have seen 4 executive directors, 2 interim directors and a host of staff changes. The current director is by far the worst and the atmosphere has changed from simply unprofessional to downright toxic. She appears to be purging the center of any staff members who disagree with her and is replacing them with the worst “teachers” I have ever seen. My daughter began coming home with signs of emotional trauma as a result of one of these staff changes, and I noticed one of the teachers in her room being inappropriately belligerent with the children. When I witnessed her humiliate and degrade a special needs child in front of the rest of the class I decided that I needed to report her behavior and my child’s emotional distress to the director and ask for an intervention. That was, apparently, an enormous mistake. She assured me that she would take this seriously and get back to me on a number of points and then proceeded to completely ignore me for 3 weeks. When I tried to hold her accountable for this, she launched into a tirade, insulting me and my child and refused to acknowledge any of the issues at hand, saying she had decided there wasn’t a problem and was basically not accountable to anyone. Meanwhile, I had spoken to other parents who had been witnessing the same changes in their children’s behavior and had also witnessed this teacher being inappropriate. Our fight continued until she kicked us out of the daycare for bringing my child in for half days because we were afraid she was being abused and later admitted (in writing) that it was because I criticized her. I found out after the fact that we were not the first family she has done this to. My heart is breaking for the kids still stuck in that room. My child is now happy in her new center and I can’t believe we put up with as much as we did in this place.

Unprofessional staff who leave the children unsupervised all of the time. They text on their phones more than they paying attention to the kids in their care.
Today was my son's first and last day at Doodle Bugs. I watched my 7 month old on their "Watch Me Grow" video and was appalled at the ambivalence of the staff towards the infants. My son is just starting to sit up and at one point fell backwards flat on his back where he was left laying there for 10 minutes before anyone came over to him. He can't sit himself up yet or crawl. Another infant walked over to him and started hitting him in the head with a toy. It took teachers almost 5 minutes to come over and stop the girl. His head is bruised now. A teacher came into the room to mop the hardwood floor and two infants where left on the floor to crawl through the freshly wet floor. The one little boy almost grabbed the mop. The Center Director gave me nothing but excuses, although she admitted the actions were "not ideal" and "unacceptable". The Director of Customer Relations for Doodle Bugs tried to tell me the mops they use are hardly wet and the floor dries instantly. Sure.
I agree, whole-heartedly with the posts about the "merger". This also would coincide with the changing of "managers". Chaotic, unorganized, UNPROFESSIONAL, understaffed, whiney and sneaky would be how I would describe the "management" and the environment here. The only reason to send your kids here would be if you like to pay for: a renovation that took half a year, a dangerous parking lot for drop offs, 3 hour naps, days that your children don't attend (water main breaks, sick days) and other small print contract "fees" as well as their precious 2-star status-(whatever that means) which is NOTHING as to how your kid is treated. When you meet with the staff, etc., they tell you one thing and then they do or say another. Try and give suggestions on the care of your child and you'll be met with a lack of common sense and a giant attitude from the daycare manager. Save your time, money (they got plenty of ours) and sanity. There are plenty of other options available in the airport area.
My daughter goes to this daycare for PreK and I must say the staff is extremely helpful. They are always willing to help with whatever you need and are understanding about timing and finacial issues.
Love the daycare for my kids honest director maya blackman with staff very clean facility thank you so much
I totally trust the teachers/staff with the care of my kids. My children are in an enriched learning environment and are stimulated on a daily basis. I would totally recommend this daycare to anyone that truly cares about their kids learning the essentials to successfully flourish in elementary.
This center is always bright, clean and organized. The teachers are friendly and very qualified to teach! My daughter loves it here and I wouldn't enroll her anywhere else. It's truly amazing how much she learns week to week and I love hearing about all the great activities she participates in. Highly recommended!
The staff is dedicated to the growth and development of children. I had an immediate need for childcare located and my community and this center has gone beyond my expectations.
We are very happy with Interplay. Our daughter has grown her way up from the infant to the toddler room. We have another baby on the way and we are sticking with Interplay. The teachers in each room were very kind, patient, affective. Our daughter has learned valuable social and educational skills and she has also been able to express her creativity and her personality. She enjoys going everyday and she has plenty of wonderful stories to tell when she returns. The facility has gone through a location change which was a bit of a tough transition. But, the director and the core teachers have worked together for a great recovery. The facility is a great place for any child, from infancy to preschool.
