General Info

The Department of Public Works is governed by the township of Piscataway in New Jersey. The department provides roadway, building, ground, storm sewer, traffic signal and street sign maintenance and repair services. It also offers bulk trash pickup, leaf collection and snow removal services. The Department of Public Works performs various administrative duties required for the preparation, execution and implementation of specifications and bid proposals for contracts that include curb installation and repair, sewer improvement and road paving. The department additionally oversees progress, quality control and payment schedules for contracts. It has a sanitation division that manages a recycling center and is responsible for distributing biodegradable leaf bags to homeowners. The Department of Public Works has a fleet maintenance division that repairs police patrol cars, service trucks, cars and construction equipment.
