Clay-Chalkville High School is operated by the Jefferson County Board of Education. The school, based in Pinson, Ala., is one of the largest school systems in the state. It serves more than 1,400 students in grades nine through 12, with a faculty and staff of over 115 members. The school offers classes in various subjects, including business education, English, foreign languages, draft design technology, physical education, science, theater arts, and family and consumer science education. It also offers a range of service and facilities for students, such as computer and science laboratories, choral, band and fine arts rooms, a media center, video production studio, food court, practice and spectator gymnasiums, auditorium, and parking facility. Clay-Chalkville High School organizes a variety of sporting activities, including baseball, softball and football. The school also has a more than 9,800-square-foot media center.
