We treat wood as if it were alive
- General Info
- With the machines and tools I had, I opened my first shop in 1977 with a commitment to do every job the best I could. This is the only way I have made my living for the past 35 years. I have produced many styles and fashioned many of my own designs. It has not only afforded me my living and an exciting career, but also an opportunity to work on many masterpieces, from Frank Lloyd Wright to the renowned Shakers, Sam Maloof, the Green & Green, Gustav Stickley and many other furniture icons. I have established thousands of relationships and the respect of my peers. I have taught many classes on furniture restoration, and I was a feature writer for a national trade magazine on restoring antique furniture. All the stripping, sanding and staining is done by one craftsman that has been with me for over 25 years. All of the structural repair from refitting case work, dressers, tables, veneer and cabinet work is my responsibility. We specialize in chair repair. In my career, I have repaired about 15,000 chairs. In 40 years, I have never found anything we could not mend, fix or re-fit. Nothing gives us more satisfaction than to let a customer know that we can fix her grandmother’s treadle sewing machine, restore the family heirloom or save about anything wood.

I visited this shop this week. I was surprised how easy it was to find...right off the freeway in the Appian 80 Shopping center where Safeway is. They were able to give me a quote on the spot and offered a quick turn around time. He even told me the maker of my antique table. This place has every tool, stain, finish and the owner studies antiques. He is the real deal. I recommend them for repairing and refinishing.. Great location, clean and well organized. Great experience! 5 stars!
