When the transmission completely went out on our daughter's 2001 Ford Taurus, it was towed to the Ford dealership. They wanted to completely replace the transmission with a "new" rebuilt transmission at a cost of approx. $3,300, which would include a 36 month/36,000 mile warranty. After exploring other options that might cost less, we decided to have the existing transmission rebuilt instead. I called 3 places in Pineville, including Mr. Transmission, and all of them quoted approx. the same price of the low $2,000's for a total rebuild. Mr. Transmission, however, was the only one who was willing to offer the extended 36 months/36,000 mile warranty at no extra cost. So, he had our car towed from the Ford dealership to his shop. Once the transmission was rebuilt, it took 3 days longer than anticipated to troubleshoot a problem with 2nd gear. It took a total of 6 days to fix, but the manager was willing to take off $50 for each day it was not finished when promised. I would much prefer it take a little longer to get it right than to try to pass it off with a problem. My daughter, who lives in Greensboro, says the car works better now than it ever did before the transmission went out. Overall, we were very pleased with Mr. Transmission's work and his willingness to offer the extended warranty. We took off 1 star only for the fact that it took a few days longer than expected before the work was completely done, but in our case, a job worth doing was worth doing right (which took a little extra time and patience.)

I brought my Jeep to this establishment at the end of May 2010. It took the place weeks to call me and let me know what was going on with it. Finally, they told me the store shipped them the wrong part for it and he would call me the following monday. He never called. I called him and he said something completely different, that it wasn't that part that needed fixed. He must've forgotten he told me about the wrong part being shipped (since it was a lie). Then he said he will put it on the lift by the next monday!!!! It had been there for almost 5 weeks now! Finally, I went there and kept pressuring him. He never even ""put it on the lift"" until the 5 weeks was over. I finally went back and told him to give me the jeep. He said he fixed some tiny little part and he charged me $610!!!! I was furious. Never, ever take your vehicle here unless you want it to SIT for a month and a half! The ""manager,"" or whatever he is, name is Kevin. Don't go near him or the shop! Beware!
3 attempts to fix and although the original problem fixed, now have leaking transmission that dealerships will have to repair
This is the first time I have seen this complaint. I'm not sure who kengineer is or what vehicle we worked on for a kengineer. Not even sure if kengineer really exists or is a competitor trying to give me a black eye! Mr Transmission has been in business since 1956. We warranty the work we do and make sure the customer is satisfied with the results. If kengineer would contact us perhaps we could have solved this issue.
