We moved my mom to the Enclave when it first opened in September, 2016. The staff are caring, observant and very accommodating to the needs of the residents and their families. The facility is brand new, so everything is fresh, neat and clean. My mother still enjoys playing card games and scrabble, especially. Often, when no other residents are around to play, staff will sit with her and play. A great second family environment!

I strongly recommend that all providers of psychiatric care, as well as families and loved ones of the mentally ill, avoid sending their patients to the Arizona Mentor group home at 8439 W Meadowbrook Ave in Phoenix, Arizona. The Arizona Mentor group home at 8439 W Meadowbrook Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85037 is operated negligently by incompetent individuals who care nothing about the peace and safety of the neighborhood or about their patients. The following are two examples of Arizona Mentor’s deplorable conduct and negligence:On Saturday, January 27, 2018, at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon, an employee at the 8439 W Meadowbrook Ave location was in the back yard of the group home on his cell phone shouting racial epithets and every other obscenity in the English language at someone (highly offensive words starting with the letters “N” and “F” and “B” just to name a few). The employee was cursing and ranting so loud that the next door neighbor could hear it very loudly inside the neighbor’s living room, even though all doors and windows were closed! The neighbor was alarmed and thought people were in his backyard fighting, so the neighbor went to see what was going on. When the neighbor saw it was someone at the Arizona Mentor group home next door, he was not at all surprised. The reason why the neighbor knew that this loudmouth in the Arizona Mentor group home back yard was actually one of their paid employees was simple: he said to the person to whom he was cursing at on the phone: “I’m at work right now.” On January 9, 2018, while the neighbors were at work during the day (or sleeping because they WORK the night shift), the employees of Arizona Mentor group home negligently allowed one of their patients to become dangerously destabilized, and they allowed him to wander off to the neighbor’s house and proceed to threaten and harass the neighbors by banging on the door, shouting vulgar threats, and completely destroying the neighbor’s garden that the neighbor had recently paid a lot of money on. Their unstable patient just ripped all of the plants out of the garden while the Arizona Mentor employees did absolutely NOTHING to stop him. The frightened neighbor had to call the police to come and remove the threatening psychiatric patient from their property before he destroyed more than just their beautiful rose garden. The employees of the Arizona Mentor group home, who negligently allowed this to happen, didn’t even bother to apologize to their neighbor for this. They just came over taking pictures, and when the neighbor tried talking to them about it, they refused to engage in any conversation and just rudely walked away.Bottom line: don’t send your loved ones to Arizona Mentor.
Very friendly community, people are very nice and love joinning family night! The best quality of staff and loving people.
Awesome caregivers, beautiful home in residential neighborhood, great personalized level of care. The owners and caregivers are so nice and really go out of their way. I am relieved that mom has good care. It has definitely taken some of the stress away!
Years ago these wonderful people created a warm caring experience for my mother's last years. My mother not only enjoyed her time there, but I enjoyed the positive environment, and the loving care that was given to all who were in their care, as well as the kindness extended to the family members who visited....& I Know because the staff happily put up with my daily, and twice and thrice daily, visits...since I became part of the furniture while mom was in their care. I miss mom terribly & also miss the Freedom Manor Staff.... even years after my mom gently passed away ...& I still think of, and miss, the folks who were there to help me CARE for my mom while she was in the last months of her life. Burkeshire is truly a horror house. I know 2 people who lived there-roaches, bed bugs, verbal abuse from staff, stolen medication, not providing meds patients need which could be life threatening. Please do not place your loved one here. They need to lose their license!!! And they will.
I would highly discourage anyone to even consider living here. I have had several friends live at Brookdale over the last few years and I must say this place has gone downhill. The employee morale is at a all time low. Its no wonder the way Brookdale treats their employees. They are not allowed to have friendships with the tenants and the tenants feel if they get too friendly the employees will and have been reprimanded. The units are in very poor condition they need to be remolded and they are notorious for plumbing problems. Worst of all BED BUGS are rampant. They lie to the tenants and tell them they are termites! The food is sub-par at best. I have made several complaints on the behalf of my friends and Brookdale management just reassures me all my concerns will be looked into. STAY AWAY from this place...............
This is an outstanding facility. The owner, the workers are truly incredible and caring people. This was the fourth residence for our 97 year old mother and was by far the best,It is truly beyond compare.

You don't have to leave me a review for consideration of a raise. But that's oaky. I understand what it takes to run a small business and several homes. I want to leave my impression with the business that business. Freedom Manor loves their residents and it was a pleasure working there.
