Bring a Snickers bar, you're gonna be there a while!

As far as pain care......nothing yet, but I remain hopeful!

Overall

This practice is ridiculous. I have been a patient of theirs for over 5 years. I have put up with NEVER seeing anyone less than 45 minutes after my appointment time, NEVER seeing a doctor only PA's, switching PA's every 6 months because as soon as you build an actual relationship they move them to another office, been accused of being a junkie, a pill seeker, and a liar. I have finally decided to leave and go to another practice because each PA they make me see has gotten progressively worse and less professional each time. The latest one has told me that I either need to do surgery or nerve ablasion (burning and killing the nerve - not a solution! The body feels pain for a reason!) and if I choose not to do either of those options than they won't prescribe me anymore pain medications because I'm not being serious enough about following their "plan" to get me off meds. I've already been told by 2 spinal surgeons (that they sent me to) that I will need surgery in the future but they understand and respect my decision to put off surgery as long as physically possible because of the risks involved and the 50/50 chance it won't help me but The Pain Center PA's keep telling me I need to do surgery NOW. Now that I am trying to transfer to another pain management practice and I filled out all the proper paperwork for a self discharge and release of medical records to the new practice somehow my records haven't shown up at the new practice for 3 WEEKS! I have called and pleaded with The Pain Center medical records people to fax it again and they said they did but guess what? STILL NOTHING ARRIVED AT THE NEW PRACTICE AND NOW MELISSA IN THE RECORDS DEPARTMENT WON'T EVEN RETURN THE 4 MESSAGES I HAVE LEFT FOR HER THIS WEEK!!!!! I had to go to their new Tempe location and fill out ANOTHER records release form so that I can get MY OWN RECORDS! But they won't give them to me, I have to wait another 7 - 14 business days for them to mail them to me. By the time I get my OWN RECORDS I will be 3 weeks past my refill date and am having to go to the emergency room for pain because The Pain Centers of Arizona have left me stranded and they refuse to answer my messages or even help me at this point. It's gross negligence and abandonment of care and that is the BEST you can expect from the doctors and PA's at this practice. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED. Save yourself the wasted time and the abuse and look elsewhere for pain management.
