Customer BEWARE!! In June of 2013, I took my RV to Moon Valley Auto Repair after it had failed emissions control testing. I drove the vehicle in and towed it out. After $650 dollars worth of tinkering they had replaced a brand new Auto Parts starter I had just installed not more than 30 days previously with a supposedly superior Delco starter. Moon Valley told me they would put the Auto Parts starter in the RV and I could take it back for an exchange. The also replaced a few vacuum hoses but never got the vehicle running. At this point I was told I now needed a new fly wheel on the transmission with the cost of approximately $1000 and a new radiator and hoses for the additional cost of $1000. The estimate to get the additional necessary repairs to the vehicle and get it out of the shop was $2000 to $3000. At this point I knew I had stepped into the auto repair shop scam headquarters ran by a east coast witch named” Dawn”, with a screw the suckers attitude to making money and customer service. The Auto parts starter was never placed in the RV so I could make a return. I was told that they returned the new Auto Parts starter for a core charge.

I paid the $650 bill without a comment and called a tow truck ($300) to take the RV to part time mechanic friend who replaced the flywheel for $300. So the fly wheel was a legitimate needed repair ( although he stated he had never seen a fly wheel damage in this manner) but the radiator and hoses were bogus Approximately 4 months later after having started the RV a few dozen times the new superior Delco starter that Moon Valley Auto installed went out while on the road. I had the vehicle towed ($280)to a recommended Glendale mechanic and they replaced the Delco rebuilt starter with a new factory starter that is now working like a champ.

I took the superior Delco rebuilt starter back to Moon Valley and simply asked them to either return this starter for a new starter or return my money. I did not ask for my money back for the installation of a faulty starter, I just asked them to replace the starter. I was told they no longer had a box for the starter and it could not be returned for a refund or a new starter. I was also told that she could not verify that this was even the starter that her shop installed. When I suggest that she simply check her records to verify the serial number she told me she could not do that. When I asked for my money back and confronted the owner about the estimates for the radiator and hose work that did not need to be done she threatened to call the police if I did not leave her shop.

I have since spoken to a neighbor who had a similar experience. He took his truck to Moon Valley and he was giving a long list of necessary repairs running into the thousands of dollars. The man then took the truck to his local Chevy dealer for a second estimate. The Chevy dealer found NO NEED for any of the repairs than Moon Valley had deemed necessary. They repaired his truck for a few hundred dollars.

In relating this story to a third auto shop that has just completed the starter repair a mechanic informed me that he once worked for the tow company owned and operated by Moon Valley. He stated that he had quit after discovering how they operated and also stated “ Those people are crooks with a rude attitude towards customers”.

Yesterday, I had a blown tire ...

Yesterday, I had a blown tire and I broke down right in front of their operation. They gave me fabulous and caring service and attention. Drove me home so I didn't have to wait there and then picked me up as soon as my car was ready. I haghly recommend them to everyone and I will make sure my friends and relatives know about this place.

I started using Moon Valley Motor Care last year after a friend recommended it to me. I've had nothing but great experiences with them! They have fantastic customer service, they are always very sweet, and the employees are clean. My service is always quick but thorough. The prices are extremely fair. I have recommended it to numerous people and they have always been very happy with their services as well.

Brought my 2003 Ford Focusin d...

Brought my 2003 Ford Focusin due to a very loud ticking sound after doing a self install of a new belt and tensioner. It was around 3-4 in the afternoon on a friday but they still got me right in to see what it is and if it was a small enough fix to get me in and out. The woman running the shop, Dawn - and even the mehanics seemed happy to fix my car and didnt turn me away due to it being end of the day on a friday.



After looking at my car for about 10 minutes they identified that O'riely Autoparts had sold me the wrong size belt for my car, and it was causing the tensioner to struggle to work properly. The Dawn got on the phone to have the right size belt delivered. My car was fixed within minutes of the new part arriving. There was no attempt to upsale or insist on other repairs.



Although the belt cost me about 60 through them as opposed to 20 at Oriely, I still saved ten dollars at their shop (as opposed to sears quote), and left knowing that the job was done right this time. Sears quoted me $130+ I was out the door at $119 with this shop.



I will return to this shop for any future repairs.

I took my truck to moonvalley and they took care of my issue I was having. They gave me a list of recommended work and arranged it in order of importance.

I visited Moon Valley Auto Car...

I visited Moon Valley Auto Care back in October because it was recommended by someone that knew the owner personally. I took my car in because my engine light had gone off. I ended up needing an oil change (or did i??) and so that was done too. I initially thought they were really great because they essentially had me pay everything at cost and very little for labor. They informed me that I would need another oil change at 61550 some odd miles. So I take my car to someone that has been working on cars all his life and that I trust. Well, not only was the oil not even close to needing to be changed (could have gone another 3000 to 4000 miles) , but my mechanic found a dirty rag at the bottom of the engine bay. It had been carelessly left there after my last change. I had been driving around with that by my engine for four months. FOUR. Also, everything was tightened to such an extreme that it took a lot to get everything unscrewed. I was lied to just so I would come back in earlier than needed; so that I would spend money unnecessarily. I will never return to this shop, and I do not advise you go there either.

Thanks to the cascading failur...

Thanks to the cascading failures (of all types) to my moms van, I got to know the people at Moon Valley Auto Repair very well. It takes a lot to motivate my (a**) into writing a review - but I think Dawn and her shop Deserves It !! THEY'VE EARNED MY TRUST. If I didn't need a part for repairs - Dawn would tell me straight-up. If I only needed a part and NOT a complete rebuild - that's what Dawn had done for me!! My only pet-peeve is that they no longer accept American Express - but that's another issue.

A friend told me about moon va...

A friend told me about moon valley, and I LOVE HIM FOR IT! They made me feel comfortable as I tried to describe in my words what was wrong with my car. After the mechanic looked at the car they called me back and explained what they found and what needed to be fixed. This was a great value because I understood what they were doing and how much it would be and with no surprises, they fixed it. Thanks moon valley for a great customer experience.

They add on A LOT of crazy cha...

They add on A LOT of crazy charges onto the final bill, "use of shop tools" for example, shouldn't that be included in the huge labor charges they already add on? They make it sound like they are doing something for your benefit but they are pushing you into paying them more and more. They REALLY exaggerated the condition of my car, such as things being cracked but when we replaced them on our own, the parts were worn but not at all cracked. When we called to ask about the additional charges that were added on to our final bill after we had been quoted an "out the door" price much less than the final bill, we were hung up on... twice....

We have learned that after being in business for as long as we have been (over 17 yrs) that you can't always please every customer, as hard as we try. We pride ourselves here on integrity and honesty and that is how we have built our family business. But there will always be a customer that is financially unable to perform the mandatory repairs to a vehicle, esp one that has over 197885 miles on it, as was the case with this car. This was a simple case of the customers young boyfriend just not understanding that in this industry there are shop supplies ( not shop tools as was his previous comment) that are required for every job on every car. Unfortunately on this car, he was not doing much maint at all, which is why there was only 1 quart of engine oil registering on dipstick, but sometimes when people have a shortage of funds and find out that their vehicle needs a lot of repairs, (after 15yrs) they get upset with the smallest of fees ($20.38). I have NEVER hung up on a customer in 17 yrs, that is just a horrible attempt at defaming our business name. There are always 2 sides to every story, and I wish them well with their car.

I was referred to Moon Valley a few years ago by a friend and was so glad to have found this awesome repair shop. Family owned and very reasonable. I always feel like I am a priority to them and the take great care of my car and me. Highly recommend them.

Family Shop, Fair, Fast Very knowledgeable

I brought my 2005 Infiniti G35 ( which is my pride and joy) to Moon Valley Motorcare about 2 months ago. They got me right in and began the diagnostics. Dawn-Owner Manager called me with in an hour to tell me that my head gasket was bad. Possibly the effects of owner neglect : ( She was SO car smart for a woman, this put me at ease. I am always afraid to get taken advantage of by mechanics. Anyway, they gave me a detailed estimate and assured me the parts were quality and from Infiniti etc. I asked around to other shops in the valley and found their price was competitive and fair. They got the job done in a timely manner and I couldnt be happier! I felt at home there and trust they are in the biz to help rather than hurt. Please keep them in mind for your auto repairs!!!
