I went to several different gold buyers in Phoenix, Chandler
Tempe, Scottsdale let me tell you what almost 99% are complete crooks with no care if you put them on the spot on how far off they are on pricing gold. And the one who told me over the phone he would pay the most over the phone was the worst in person that place was at 51st ave and peoria. I had 3.4 ounces of 14kt troy gold they said they would pay $28.00 per gram at the time gold was going for $1850.00 per ounce after they checked my gold and tryed to tell me that my other bag with 50 grams of 18kt gold he told me it was not 18kt but only 14kt then he put it in with the 14kt gold pile. I stoped him and said just give me back my 18kt i will keep it. Then they added it up and told me it was $2,900.00 worth but they had a testing fee and a smelting fee and my cut would be $2,300.00 I left with all my gold never to return to that place. Then just today I went to Diamond Jims he was the only one who did not try to cheat me in any way and paid me the most than anyone in the state of Arizona.

By Charise Bebout. I made three online inquiries regarding the possible value of my princess cut Leo diamond ring, and received responses from two local jewelers, one being Diamond Jim. The first jeweler who saw the ring gave me a saleable estimate of $2,600. I then made an appointment with Diamond Jim, who examined the ring, asked what I wanted for it, and then told me that the most he could pay was $2,900. I thanked him and left the premises. When I was ready to sell the ring, I scheduled a second appointment with the jeweler who’d offered the most cash for it – Diamond Jim. Jim again looked at my diamond, again asked what I wanted for it and then told me that the most he would pay was $2,000. When I gently reminded him that he’d initially offered $2,900 exactly two weeks earlier, he replied that the $2,900 figure was the amount for which he hopes to SELL it in his store, not how much he would pay ME for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the …??!!??? What jeweler, when asked what he would offer for your item, gives you his ASKING sale price, to make you think that was his offer?? He’d never once mentioned paying only $2,000 in our first meeting; if he’d even HINTED this, I NEVER would have made a second appointment with him!!! Unfortunately, since I’d counted on his word, was in dire straits and needed the money straight away, I made a deal with the devil. The lone star on this review is for the fact that Jim DID write a check for me on the spot. No more stars until the check actually clears – still waiting.

I had been meaning to stop by for some time, and I'm so gald I finally did. Some favorite jewelry items had been lying around for years because they required the kind of repair needing an expert. I tried previously and was stunned at the time and $$ other places wanted.
Diamond Jim's does lots of repairs right there, is reasonably priced and quick! The results were acutally better than the original. I'm enjoying wearing two recent repairs and plan to take more.
It's a fun shop, lots of interesting things to look at, and very nice folks.

I have been doing business with Diamond Jim for several years and I am in his store at least once a month. Jim is the most trusted and respected merchant in Scottsdale. Jim and his assistant Barbara are always very patient with me when I am not sure what I want and they both suggest great ideas for gifts when I am totally stumped. On occasion when I have not had enough to pay for the perfect gift, he has allowed me to use the layaway plan, as he is aware I do not care to pay for things on credit. This is a “must see” place and I would encourage you to stop in the next time you are wondering what to do with yourself on a Saturday afternoon or anytime you need that right and perfect gift.
