Checker Pool & Pump Supply

Checker is great at retail, if you're only picking up supplies. The minute you use them for service, you'll regret it. We had them replace our old sand filter about a year ago. We've had nothing but headaches with them since then. They didn't seal the pipes correctly and we constantly had leaks. They came out to fix the leaks, and had us replace the o-rings at the same time. The leaks improved, but didn't disappear. Water sprayed everywhere when you first turned on the filter. Then, a few months later, the filter exploded and sand ended up everywhere. The warranty company came to replace the filter. After that, the leaks were back to how they were previously. I had to fill up the baskets with water each time I wanted to run the filter. This was going on for a couple weeks, but then we had to go out of town for our wedding and honeymoon. We come back two weeks later, our pool is green because the filter wasn't running correctly for the entire two weeks we were gone. We called them and told them it's the same problem we've had since they originally replaced our filter. We never had these leaks before then. They said they would send someone out to take a look. We specifically told them to not perform any work until they let us know what was wrong and if we'd have to pay or if it was their fault. Well, we get a call a couple hours later that we owe them for replacing pipes and resealing everything. They acknowledged that our instructions were to not do anything until speaking with us, but they decided to go ahead and do what they want. Not only that, I went to run the filter when I got home, and what do you know, water sprayed everywhere when I turned it on. These people are a joke. After spending thousands of dollars with them in the last two years, I'm moving on to the big chain pool store that opened down the street. Good riddance.

Have dealt with this company for years because they stood by a product failure many years ago and made things right with me. Lately however, I find their staff arrogant and prices very high compared to local competition. I feel my loyalty has repaid their earlier honorable actions and I will move on.

I highly recommend Checker Pool and Pump and I suggest the company to all my friends with pools for all their supplies. Not to mention their pool toys last for more than one season so I get my moneys worth all around. These guys are dedicated and extremely knowledgeable and take pride in customer satisfaction. Their annual free hot dog (which I hear are delicious!) days is just another perk of shopping at Checker. Sure the parking lot is small and the building is not very big but they have everything you need with hardworking employees. I'm coming back.

Wow these guy at checker are the best, sure they can check your water but Mike, the motor guy is awsome, knowledgable, and very helpful; he saved us about $150.00 and lots of time running all over town!!! Thanks guys you made this summer much easier!

The guys at CHECKER have more knowledge than all of the other pool stores combined. They will also share their knowledge and help new comers to succeed. I highly recommend joining the Checker family. I am the owner of a pool service business and when I have questions Checker has given me the right anwsers 100% of the time. It has been a while since I have had a question for them but I look foward to going in their store again!

I have owned several pools here in the valley. The folks at Checker consistently give good advice and fair prices. they are the best I have found.

I was looking for a part for a motor. They didn't have the part I needed so they directed me to another company that rebuilds motors hoping they might be able to help me. A rare find today. I'm keeping their phone number handy for future problems. Trustworthy, honest and very helpful. Even took the time to explain the difference between the two different types of motors used for what I was doing. I would recommend them to anyone.

My words mean very little.. Just visit them if you have a problem, question or any other issue having to do with their business. You will find that you will be treated as if you have been a customer for many years. I bugged them for 3 days with stupid questions. I even had an issue with a o ring that was needing to be replaced. after they did not have it in stock, the owner of the company came over and searched high and low to find a solution. After telling me that he was stumped, he assured me that he would be able to get one for me within days. This is the type of service that is hard to find anymore! Think about it... they spent about 20 minutes on an o-ring. The profit on this can not even be enough to pay for the time invested in me. Stay away from Depot, Walmart and other big companies. Support these guys, these are the companies that built America.

FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS I HAVE SAVED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS BY BRINGING IN MY OLD POOL PUMP MOTORS (FROM MY RENTAL PROPERTIES AND PRIMARY RESIDENCES) AND HAVING THESE GUYS REBUILD THE MOTOR, IMPELLER REPLACEMENT, BUSHINGS, ROTORS, ETC.THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PROMPT, EFFICIENT, HONEST, AND VERY INEXPENSIVE WHEN IT COMES TO THE WORK THEY DO AND MY NEIGHBORS LOVE THEM TOO BECAUSE NOW MY PUMPS ARE RUNNING WITH HALF THE NOISE THAT THEY USED TO MAKE, REBUILD THAT MOTOR, DON'T REPLACE IT.THEY WILL WALK YOU THROUGH THE REINSTALL ALSO OVER THE PHONE WHEN YOU RUN INTO ANY PROBLEMS. GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS. GREAT COMPANY!
