Our doctors will perform a thorough oral examination to identify any conditions that may be present including tooth decay and periodontal disease. At Agave Dental, we also take the time to perform an oral cancer screening at every visit. This exam will be followed by a consultation about the findings and any treatment recommendations.
X-rays
At Agave Dental, we are dedicated to your health and safety. As technology advances, even processes we used to take for granted – like dental x-rays – improve and become safer, more efficient, and more effective.
Oral Cancer Screening
As a part of your routine care, your Agave Dental dentist and dental hygienists will perform a comprehensive oral cancer screening at every single dental visit. This screening will include...
One of the most important parts of any dental care plan is your regular cleaning with a skilled dental hygienist. At Agave Dental, our hygienists are known for providing thorough-yet-gentle cleanings so our patients can have a “fresh start” every six months.
Fluoride Treatment
Then, we clean, polish, and, when appropriate, apply a fluoride treatment. We follow this with education on good oral health habits, and we discuss behaviors such as thumb-sucking and pacifier use that may be concerning you.
Dental Sealants
Moreover, it is not lost on your “oral health home” in Phoenix, Agave Dental, that dental sealants are a considerable priority for the state and should be for almost everyone. In the health services department’s Healthy Smiles Healthy Bodies survey, it was further reported that only four out of 10 Arizonian children have this affordable, vital, painless, convenient (yet underutilized) preventative service.
We value your health and the beauty of your smile, and that’s why Agave Dental dentists only use composite fillings to fill cavities and perform other small repairs. For decades, silver-colored amalgam fillings were the standard, but now, a better way to fill cavities is available, and we’re proud to provide this modern option to our patients.
Resin Composite
We’ve found that composite resin fillings have a number of significant advantages over the old silver fillings. If you currently have silver fillings, you may already be aware of the problems these fillings can occasionally present...
Veneers
So how did they get those gorgeous, white, straight teeth? Chances are good that the secret behind the smile is porcelain veneers. And you can have a flawless smile too.
Crowns
The second visit involves removing the temporary. The permanent is then applied over the tooth. Only if it looks and fits well do we cement the crown to the tooth. If the crown doesn’t look or feel right, it may need to be re-made by the lab. Usually, it takes around two weeks for crowns to be fabricated by outside labs.
Bridges
Several types of bridges are available, but porcelain is one of the most popular options thanks to its similarity to natural tooth color and its biocompatibility. Phoenix dentist Dr. Hamann and the dental experts at Agave Dental will discuss your needs and goals with you and help you choose the best dental bridge for you.

Restorative Dentistry
The dentists at Agave Dental have considerable knowledge, experience, onsite capabilities, and tools to restore teeth to their natural beauty and strength. Due to our team’s investments in both training (staff) and technologies, we provide an array of advanced restorative dentistry services that allow all smiles in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Arcadia, Paradise Valley, and greater south-central Arizona.
Modern dentistry has transformed the root canal from a scary procedure to one that is faster, more efficient, and more comfortable than ever. In fact, most patients who have had a root canal now describe the process as being similar to filling a cavity.
For many people, the word “dentures” conjures up an image of their grandparents’ “false teeth,” huge blocky white squares set into vividly pink plastic gums. Fortunately, the technology and techniques used to create modern dentures have advanced considerably beyond those days!
Overdentures
However, All-on-4® systems do not require the one-for-one placement of each implant for each prosthetic tooth. Unlike natural teeth, you do not need to have each prosthetic tooth connected to and stabilized by an implant (artificial tooth root). Rather, the “magic” of this process comes down to the positioning of each implant in the jaw. In fact, as few as four implants may be used to support or retain as many as 16 teeth in the dental arch. The total number of implants and teeth depends on several factors that are unique to you and your situation. During your consultation, one of our four dentists will discuss your needs and what to expect from treatment. All “overdentures” wearers who can benefit from this system should generally expect the following...
Dental implants are a recent innovation in dental technology that allows us to replace missing teeth with a restoration that is so lifelike, you may even forget that it’s not your original tooth.
Tooth extractions at our office, performed capably and safely by one of our four talented dentists, is straightforward and comfortable. With proactive and routine visits to our office, many of these extractions can be avoidable; for instance, irreparable damage to the pulp tissue inside of the tooth may be prevented with good oral care at home and professional care at Agave Dental.
Invisalign is a state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment system that uses clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth and bring your bite into alignment. The aligners slip easily and comfortably right over the top of your teeth and are practically invisible – even from up close.
Braces
More than ever, people in Phoenix are concerned about their oral health and the image they are presenting. And they are looking for a solution. To many, traditional braces feel like an uncomfortable return to the teenage years – especially for those who work regularly with clients or customers.
