We moved my mom to the Enclave when it first opened in September, 2016. The staff are caring, observant and very accommodating to the needs of the residents and their families. The facility is brand new, so everything is fresh, neat and clean. My mother still enjoys playing card games and scrabble, especially. Often, when no other residents are around to play, staff will sit with her and play. A great second family environment!
Very friendly community, people are very nice and love joinning family night! The best quality of staff and loving people.
Awesome caregivers, beautiful home in residential neighborhood, great personalized level of care. The owners and caregivers are so nice and really go out of their way. I am relieved that mom has good care. It has definitely taken some of the stress away!
Being only 47 yrs old and fussy , the ppl working at this facility are very attentive and caring with you.My Name is Nelson and I'm very grateful to management
Years ago these wonderful people created a warm caring experience for my mother's last years. My mother not only enjoyed her time there, but I enjoyed the positive environment, and the loving care that was given to all who were in their care, as well as the kindness extended to the family members who visited....& I Know because the staff happily put up with my daily, and twice and thrice daily, visits...since I became part of the furniture while mom was in their care. I miss mom terribly & also miss the Freedom Manor Staff.... even years after my mom gently passed away ...& I still think of, and miss, the folks who were there to help me CARE for my mom while she was in the last months of her life. Burkeshire is truly a horror house. I know 2 people who lived there-roaches, bed bugs, verbal abuse from staff, stolen medication, not providing meds patients need which could be life threatening. Please do not place your loved one here. They need to lose their license!!! And they will.
I would highly discourage anyone to even consider living here. I have had several friends live at Brookdale over the last few years and I must say this place has gone downhill. The employee morale is at a all time low. Its no wonder the way Brookdale treats their employees. They are not allowed to have friendships with the tenants and the tenants feel if they get too friendly the employees will and have been reprimanded. The units are in very poor condition they need to be remolded and they are notorious for plumbing problems. Worst of all BED BUGS are rampant. They lie to the tenants and tell them they are termites! The food is sub-par at best. I have made several complaints on the behalf of my friends and Brookdale management just reassures me all my concerns will be looked into. STAY AWAY from this place...............
Eden Manor Assisted Living Group Home, located at 6013 S 47th St in Phoenix, AZ 85042, is a small 5 bedroom home set up to care for 10 senior adults needing assistance with daily living challenges. Because we were given a discount while waiting for ALTCS to be approved, our sister was placed here after spending about a month in a skilled nursing / rehab facility following hip surgery. There are 2 'caregivers' at the home during the day and 1 at night. This home looks beautiful from the outside, but upon stepping into the home, one is greeted with outdated, saggy furniture, the smell of urine and feces, and an eerie silence from the residents. The TV is on, but no one is watching it. A stack of board games covered in dust are on a shelf in the living room. Sandwiches are being made and silently served to several sad-looking residents waiting in wheelchairs at the table. The bathrooms, although adequately fitted with grab bars and raised toilet seats, are small, tight, and sadly in need of new paint. In fact, every room in the house needs a good painting and thorough dusting. Our sister, who struggles with incontinence, had to wait much too long for help getting to the toilet and having her bedding changed. Also, although we purchased adult diapers, pads, pull-ups, and other incontinence aids for our sister, she was told that these became 'community property' and so they were usually gone sooner than we could purchase more for her needs. She also frequently remarked that this home was really cold and that most of the residents wore coats inside at all times. And, although there was an outdoor area (shown occupied with happy people chatting on gorgeous outdoor furniture in Eden Manor's brochure), it was nothing but a broken down, partially covered terrace filled with dirt and weeds and not one stick of furniture at all. Residents mainly used this area for the occasional smoke. And one of the most serious indications that we should remove our sister from this place as soon as possible - which we subsequently did - was that the staff did not keep track of our sister's medications well, even running out of them at one point!!! Very dangerous!!! Needless to say - at this point - we do NOT recommend this group home as a place anyone should choose to send their loved one(s), even if they offer you a discount. Sad. So very, very sad.
This is an outstanding facility. The owner, the workers are truly incredible and caring people. This was the fourth residence for our 97 year old mother and was by far the best,It is truly beyond compare.
