The holiday festivities are over, but January doesn't have to be a drag. It's actually the best time to finish projects and organize your life – all while having a little fun.
We needed an ear, nose and throat specialist, but the wait at our HMO was two weeks. What now? An emergency room seemed like overk…
Three years ago I was diagnosed with a FUNGAL BALL (ewww!) in my sphenoid sinus (the deepest, hardest to reach sinus cavity). I was terrified after researching this condition on the web as it can be fatal and the surgery is quite dangerous. I went to one of that year's "Phoenix Top Docs", an ear, nose and throat specialist. He immediately wanted to do surgery!!! I asked for a less invasive therapy (anti-fungal medicine) and he refused. His reason? The "blood supply up there is minimal and so the medicine would never reach it..." I persisted, suggesting "It can't hurt to try". He flatly refused again, so I found Healthy Habit Health Foods on-line & went searching for help. Dr. Dan took me by the arm, whisked me around the store and filled my basket with close to a dozen anti-fungal herbs and suggested a special diet as well. He also assured me that I wasn't going to die and that I could beat this - he gave me HOPE!!! About 10 months later, that whole, gross, huge fungal ball CAME OUT. What a miracle - this is sooo rare! I adore Dr. Dan and am convinced he saved my life and I would recommend this store to anyone. I do advise you though to ask for help, because it can be confusing. The place is jam-packed with so many great items that it is hard to find stuff. But I love this too, because i know it is jam-packed for a reason - they care so much about their customers and want to be sure they have something there to help everyone. Finally, I shop around when it comes to supplements and most of the time, they are cheaper than anywhere else, even the on-line stores! Good luck with your health and never give up. Shining On... Chris
I HIGHLY recommend this place. I took my English Bulldog to be spayed and have an umbilical hernia repaired. Dr. Diskin was wonderful and very informative. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and my dog was so attached to the woman at the front desk (I apologize I don't remember her name). She was very sweet to my doggy. Dr. Diskin was awesome. He is very straight-forward and I am just happy with the whole process. My dog is now on a stricter diet (Dr. Diskin informed me that she was a little overweight). I was able to make my appointment online and that was great, and I was reached no later than 24 hours and my appointment was confirmed. I took her in and the office was super clean. I just can't say enough about this place! It was affordable and I am happy with everything! All the other places I called wanted to charge an arm and a leg, and I really lucked out when I came across PAWS. I had called another spay clinic before I found PAWS and they didn't call me back for 3 days and in that time, I found PAWS online and didn't hesitate to make an appointment after reading the reviews. I would recommend that you do not go anywhere else but here for your pet to be spayed/neutered. They truly are superb. You won't regret it! Your wallet and your heart will feel good about it.
I feel like it's fate that I stumbled onto Robin's Nest doing a yelp search for childcare. I have a 4 month old daughter and the thought of leaving her with a stranger was overwhelming, but it had to be done. I sent Robin an email and had a response with-in 24 hours and scheduled a time to go and check it out. We pulled up to a well manicured home with a great front play area. Then I met the staff, I have NEVER met such a wonderful group of ladies. They instantly put my mind at ease and it didn't hurt that they fawned over how cute my daughter was. There is such a wonderful feeling of care and I can say that I trust Robin and all of her staff. They are all easy to talk to and with-in a week they really know my daughter They text pictures during the day just to let me know she's okay and the facebook page is great. Alex is wonderful and I can't speak highly enough of Robin's Nest. I can't wait to spend many more years watching my daughter grow at the nest!!!! Oh and it's totally affordable and trust me I'm no Rockefeller!!!
My boyfriend and I brought our two male kittens here to get neutered, and we are extremely happy with this place. First of all, the lady in the front who handed us our papers to fill out was extremely friendly and welcoming. The way a employee's treat customers is VERY important to me. She held a conversation with us the whole time we were waiting which I thought was really nice. She alone made me very happy with the decision I made to come here. Especially since I recently had a bad experience with customer service at a vet I WAS using. We had Dr. Diskin and he was also very friendly. We had no problems at all. He did a great job with the kittens, and they were back to normal that night/the next day. Someone said that there are hidden charges but that was definitely not the case for us. It was $45 each cat, and we payed exactly $90 at the end of the day. They have great service and awesome prices. I wouldn't see a reason NOT to come here. I will definitely be bringing my cats here whenever they need something done now.
My weight loss with HCG was a dream come true. I was approaching my birthday and I didn't want to have all the extra weight on me, it was really affecting my overall health. To be honest I was scared to try something online because I didn't know what the heck I was getting, real HCG? or what. I read so much information that made it more confusing. I knew I didn't want to waste my money going to an expensive weight loss clinic, that seemed to be a total waste of money. So I called a few places in the internet and some of those places didn't even answer the phone, until I called HCG Diet at HCG Buy Direct. A very informative lady by the name of Jo helped me. She was able to answer all of my questions and put me at ease. I ordered my hcg from www.hcgbuydirect.com and I'm so very happy. Now a short 8 weeks later I have dropped a total of 55 POUNDS!!! This diet is really my dream come true, it is everything they say it is. Thank u Jo I luv you! call her 480-559-5790 HCG fan Melissa
For the Tucson location. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to let anyone who's looking for a container know about this company. I called and/or visited every other Tucson location before deciding on Advanced Mobile Storage. What originally sold me was my conversation with Matt (later learned he is the owner). I wanted a shipping container to use as as work shop and storage unit on my property. I worked with Bobby in Tucson and he was very helpful. I ended up having a 3.0 steel door installed as well as a 64" swing out door in the side. Also a window. They do nothing but quality work. The window frame was welded in and has steel bars, as well as a double pane window. It slides open smoothly and looks very professional. The doors are very secure (they threw in free welded on lock covers). The paint job they did is perfect. In short, I am very happy... They exceeded my expectations, and I will HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants a container.
Dr. Leonetti has been treating me for the past 5 months. As a RN and retired USAF Flight Nurse, I can honestly say that he is in the top 3 doctors that I have ever know over my 20+ years as a trauma/critical care nurse. For example, he did some surgery on a Friday afternoon, and over the weekend, instead of the usual 'Call my answering service if you are having any problems', he took the time on both Saturday and Sunday and called me from his house to make sure that everything was going well, that my pain was under control and no excessive swelling or bleeding. When was the last time ANY provider called you at home to check up on you?!? He listens, he makes time to see you, and when I show up for my appointments, the MOST that I have ever waited is 5 minutes past my scheduled time. In other words he respects your time as being valuable. He is an awesome doctor, and I trust him to not only provide me with care, but also my wife and kids if needed.
Ok so here I am in my mid 40's and have gained some weight that just won't budge despite working out and trying different diets. I was told by my sister in law about this HCG diet and she lost 50 lbs in 8 1/2 weeks ...... so the beginning of November actually on the 1st I decide to start this amazing diet!!! Omg Omg Omg I'm blown away in 1 month I lost 28 lbs ! I look and feel amazing again!!! I will say one of the best parts of this diet is Jo....my angel JoJo. I felt like she was by my side every step of the way. She never let my questions or concerns go unanswered. She cheered me on every day. I love her so much I am literally JoJo's biggest fan and I call her my best friend. Even now I still contact her everyday to let her know how much she means to me ❤️❤️❤️ I highly recommend this diet to anyone that needs to lose weight ....it's a miracle diet!!!!!! I love you HCGBUYDIRECT.COM AND MY ANGEL AND SOUL SISTER JOJO❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm sure all you girls out there just love seeing the gyno-right? Ya, I love it too. But I had to write this to let you know not all gynos are scary! I totally put off going because I'm a curvy girl and I really didn't want meet someone new and then get naked! I finally worked up the courage to see Dr. Morton-Pradhan because I've been having crazy-heavy periods since I had my last baby. She made me feel totally at ease and listened to my whole crazy list of medical issues. She was totally professional, but at the same time not up -tight or judgemental. If you have to go get your pap visit and stuff just do it! Go to Dr. MP and she'll make you comfortable. By the way, I ended up doing that uterus ablation that they do in the office and I haven't had a period since! I can't believe how much better it is to not have a period; not to mention saving a milliion dollars a month on pads and stuff! The office people were really nice, too.
This place is the best. When another vet told me my cat had 3 to 7 dies to live, i was distraught. 5 days later, my cat was a little slow, but didnt seem she was about to die. So i called here and they had me bring my cat in right away. They confirmed my cat had kiidney problems, but they were positive about her future. They have had her on an iv for the past 3 days and her blood levels are returning to normal. And my 7 year old best freind should be home in a few days with a healthy future. I know cats live short lives, but with the help of this vet, i may have several months, if not years with the best kitty i have ever known. The whole staff is very caring and concerned. I will never go anywhere else. If you are new in town or looking for an animal clinic, please try here first. I never write reviews, but i don't know how i can ever repay all of the wonderful people at this clinic.
Choosing the right vet for your pet can be tough. After all, your furry friend can't tell you how he or she feels about the doctor. Even though you're not the one treated by the vet, whoever your animal sees is obviously your decision. Since many veterinary diseases and injuries can turn into emergencies very quickly, it's important to have a go-to vet. This way, you can ensure you'll know whom to see when your animal needs care.
Speak to your friends and family about vets who've treated their pets. You can even talk to your groomer or an animal shelter worker for referrals. When you visit the clinics you've been referred to, check that the facility is clean, animals are separated and the staff is calm and courteous. Not all clinics are American Animal Hospital Association accredited. This accreditation isn't a legal necessity, though a clinic that's AAHA-accredited is guaranteed to offer high-quality medical care. To receive accreditation, the clinic has to meet the AAHA's standards in the areas of facility, equipment and quality care.
If you're looking for a specialist, you want to make sure he or she is board-certified to practice in that specific area of animal medicine. You'll want to make sure your vet is also convenient to visit, so there are factors to take into account.
The type of animal you own should play a part in which vet you choose as well. While your options are vast if you have a dog or cat, you may have to visit an avian clinic for your bird or an exotics clinic for your snake.
Just as there are many types of doctors, there are many types of vets. Some focus on livestock or house pets, while others may specialize in dentistry or surgery. They may work in a veterinary clinic or zoo, working specifically with the animals housed there, or travel to farms to work with livestock. Since horse racing and other equestrian activities are so popular, some vets are trained to work just with horses.
Diseases, like malaria and yellow fever are also transmitted through animals. Some vets have insight to diseases that affect both humans and animals. Vets have contributed to the treatment and cure of many diseases that plagued both humans and their furry friends.
Government agencies employ veterinarians as well. When an animal comes from a foreign land, these vets quarantine them and check for any diseases that may be present in an effort to control new diseases that can be brought into the country. Other Specific types of vets include:
A vet assistant works alongside the veterinarian and helps out around the clinic. In some cases, they may assist vets in surgery or restrain struggling animals during tests or lab work. The everyday duties of a veterinary assistant include; monitoring and caring for animals after surgery, keeping medical records, cleaning animals' teeth, feeding and bathing them, cleaning cages, sterilizing surgical equipment, giving animals medication, collecting samples for testing and performing laboratory tests, and offering grief counseling to pet owners.
It's a good idea to bring your pet to the vet regularly. This way, he or she becomes familiar and comfortable with the care providers, and you can stay on top of your pet's preventative care. If the animal is small enough, bring it to the office in a carrier. Just as you visit the doctor for a yearly check up, you should bring in your pet for regular check ups as well. During a routine veterinary visit, the vet will probably begin by asking you if there have been any changes in your pet's behavior or habits.
The vet will then take your pet's vitals, like weight, temperature, pulse and respiration rate, and perform a physical examination of the pet. During a physical exam, the vet checks the abdomen for swollen organs, and the legs, feet and joints for any potential problems. Depending on the age, breed or condition of your pet, your veterinarian may also check the eyes, ears and mouth.
When your vet conducts a full body examination, he or she will check out your pet's coat and skin, noting any hair loss, itchy spots or lumps. Keep note of your animal's shedding habits so you can let the vet know if anything seems abnormal. The vet will check for parasites, fleas, ticks, mites and heartworms as well.
Vaccinations are also important to your pet, especially if you have a cat or a dog, and your vet will suggest that you make sure they're current. Keeping up to date with vaccinations can prevent your furry friend from getting distemper, rabies, hepatitis and lyme disease. Some vaccinations last longer than others, so speak to your doctor about staying caught up with your animal's shots.
Just like your own health insurance, you want to make sure your animal is covered before he or she needs veterinary services. Some common animal surgeries can cost thousands of dollars, and you don't want to end up having to foot a surprise bill that costs more than your paycheck.
There's no set price for pet health insurance. Costs can depend on factors such as where you live, the age and breed of your pet, and how much coverage you want. Before you take out a pet insurance policy, you'll want to meet with your vet to go over what he or she thinks your animal should be covered for. Many vets believe that you should make sure cancer, chronic disease, hereditary and congenital disease, and common breed-related medical conditions are all addressed in your policy.
Some pet owners can't afford insurance for their pet, so there are other options to make paying for surprise pet visits as easy as possible. Some pet stores have wellness plans - which tend to be much cheaper than an insurance policy - that offer shots, check ups, screenings and discounts on various procedures your pet may need. A lot of veterinary offices offer payment plans for pricey procedures as well, as long as you have decent credit history. For a last-ditch option, there are even privately funded organizations that offer pet owners financial aid for their pet's treatments.
