Disappointing. My wife and I both come from Italian families, just moved to the Moon Valley area right down the street, and have been quite eager to dine here. Atmosphere is nice & cozy as expected, but after we were seated, no one ever came to our table to greet us or take orders. It was not busy. After 20 minutes - no exaggeration - I had to leave my table to go up front to get the hostess to get our family table service. My meal was very good, but my wife's Veal Michelangelo was very, very dry & hard to chew. The waitress said to us, "Anything else?" when bringing us dessert. Really? She should have offered espresso, cappuccino, coffee or something. "Anything else?" was not a nice way for a good wait staff to greet guests at a place touted to be fine Italian.Update: Spoke w/ Jennifer who claimed to be the manager there of 3 years, told her of our family's experience. She did not have much to say except for a fumbling, "sorry, we'll make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else", blamed the problems on the recent change of ownership. With the good reviews from what appeared to be seasoned patrons and/or regulars, we were willing to come back for another try, but Jennifer offered absolutely no incentive for us to come back, and didn't even try. Places like this intended to be the old school dining style are hard to find, and seems like this place may be going the way of the dinosaur, too, when staff doesn't try anymore. That's really too bad. Best of luck to the new owners.
My friends and I stopped in after finding this place online. This place is boxing theme which I think is cool. They should show a boxing movie once a Week. Wednesday and call it like Winner Wednesday or Thumpin' Thursday or Fightin' Fridays. The drinks are a good price. The food is great! I recommend the knockout if you are in the mood for a burger. I bought this like family size Corona. The quality is great for the price. The owner was nice enough to chat with us off and on. She is funny, lovely and she cooks too! Marry me! *Cough* I mean have a merry ol' time here. She is putting together great events. Please list all your events so I can check it out. Oh and do you do Taco Tuesday? I live right down the street and is only slightly out of my route home. I forgot to mention this on the Facebook review but you could totally do boxing video games too! The ringside gals are in bikini's. If you have anything against nice ladies in bikini's this place might not be for you.
went to the Macaroni Grill Yesterday at 3pm by the Agua Fria freeway. We wont be going back. Service is slow, the waitress has no help from the other staff who is supposed to be keeping you in bread and drinks. One of our appetizers was not served until the entrees came , even though we kept asking where it was.my second coctail was not served for a good 25 minutes after I ordered it. The entrees were cheap, mostly a portion of pasta in a huge bowl and not alot of meat or sausage like it said on the menu. The appetizers were good but chincy for the price. All in All not good tasty authentic Italian food.I know it was Mothers Day but they should have had more people working and not worrying about just making a profit.I wont be wasting my money again.
We just paid our first visit to this hip local establishment new to Phoenix Uptown. True and honest food from scratch, with bright, fresh, flavors likemint, lime, and cilantro. Hand made tortillas and wood grilled meatmake the tacos exceptionally good. Drinks are creative and delicious;go for a prickly pear margarita ! We had a short wait for a table, sincethe word must be out ! Pay a visit soon and expect to be impressedby the food, original artwork, ambiance, decor, friendly service and open kitchen.Breakfast menu served all day and Happy Hour with food and drink specials from 2-6 PM daily.
I LOVE THIS PLACE ! the dining area inside has got the largest collection of phoenix memorabilia I've ever seen in fact soo much so that the owner opened a gift store just to handle the volume of colorful handmade items both new and vintage from elvis to jaws yah the shark to gumball machines 5 ft tall to hand blown glass trinkets of love for the special person . its a treat for the eye as well as the pallet and remember this is long wong #1 he started the long wong wing revolution where all the others are judged by . long live the ron at my favorite long wongs.
This is the most wonderful Italian restaurant you can find in the area. We have been coming here for six or seven years when we are in town, and if you haven't tried it you should. Do make a reservation. Everything we have ever ordered has been delicious - we always start with the stuffed mushrooms, and my husband generally orders one of the veal dishes. If osobucco (spelling?) veal shank is on the menu the night you go, it is incredible.Another favorite of mine is the chicken parmigiana. Did I mention the place is charming and the service impeccable?
I've gotten take out from them for years and while they're always incredibly busy, they're always nice, the food is always just what I ordered, they frequently give a little extra of the sourdough bread cause they know we love it and we're regulars now and with Marie Callenders gone, they are the ONLY great pie place around town to grab a pie anytime. And theirs are so so good. Thanks guys, please never close! Oh, also grew up with the one at Metrocenter and it was where I discovered they made bar-none chocolate milkshakes...thick and delicious. Nom!
I ordered the nine iron panini & it was amazing! If I could eat here everyday I would. My husband also order a panini which was almost as delicious as mine! Their prices are very reasonable prices. Our paninis were $9.75 each. Our friends order 8 types of bruschetta. Their bruschetta is $14 for 4 types. Every single bruschetta was really good! My favorite was the Tomato jam & the one that had bacon on it lol. Service was a little slow but they kept our drinks coming and our water filled. water
I have seen this place plenty of times so I finally went in, first thing I noticed was it was fairly busy which is a good sign. I was then welcomed in and told to sit where I please! I sit down and am greeted nicely. Then when I look at the menu i notice how cheap things are! When my food comes out it has plenty on it and it is absolutely delicious! I will most definitely be coming backcontinue to go restaurant
Was a little nervous when driving to tjis restaurant as the neighborhood isn't that great. However once inside it has yhe old time Italian atmosphere. The waiter couldn't be more helpful and tje food was cooked perfectly. As we were from out of town and meeting friends who were also from out of town. We sat for over 3 hrs and they could not jave been more gracious. I would go back here again.
