My sister was in town so I made an appointment for us to get massages. The appointment was for a 4:30 on a Saturday evening. We get there a little early and filled out the necessary paperwork. We went upstairs... and waited. By 5:10 the receptionist came up and told us it would be 5 more minutes because they were running late. After that we never saw anyone else. They had an opera DVD on repeat. By 5:45 my sister and I decided we had to leave because we had other plans at night. We walked downstairs and there was another receptionist. She said that a massage therapist had called off sick that day so they were shorthanded and running late. That was all. She offered no apologies for the inconvenience or offered to reschedule (not that I would have). I always assumed this is why they took your phone number when you make an appointment. It would have been very easy to call and say they were running late and understaffed and offer to reschedule.

I was referred to the Body Sanctuary by a local friend. I was very pleased with the deep tissue massage and the facial was quite invigorating. The decor and ambience was great, and I was rather impressed by the cleanliness. The staff was friendly and very professional. I'd highly recommend this spa for a totally relaxing experience. I'll be returning on my next visit to Philly!

The facial was magnificent. The woman who did my facial was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her conversation during the facial was enlightening, and really added happiness to the entire spa experience. The sheets and linen used during the massage were clean and refreshing. The massage room smelled great, and the music was wonderful.
Thank you Body Sanctuary..

I originally went to the Body Sanctuary Day Spa to have a facial. Well you know how it is once you get into that robe... spa mode kicks in. Before I knew it I heard myself inquiring about other services... let's just say that a facial turned into a massage, and the massage turned into having my TEETH WHITENED! I was a little nervous to try this new method, but for $130 I decided to try it. I am so glad that I did. Not only did my teeth get considerably whiter, but the technician who whitened my teeth was very professional, and she had a dental background. She was very informative about the process and explained the pros and cons, and made sure that I was comfortable throughout my whitening session. She used a desensitizing product before she handed me the tray to place in my mouth and I felt no pain, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has always wanted to get their teeth whitened, but doesn't have the $500 to do it. I have seen these types of set ups in the mall. The price was right, but I was always afraid to try it. So glad I waited. I will be going back for more services! I found the staff to be warm and friendly, the environment peaceful and clean. I read the review previous to mine and was shocked however, I am an african american women and I can honestly say that I was treated with the utmost courtesy and I would like to also say that my sheets were not only clean, they looked as though they had been ironed!

Where do I start...
I'm pretty sure they don't clean their linens. I used to work at a hotel changing beds so I feel as though I am a credible source in the identification of soiled sheets. I was massaged on USED sheets. I overheard some employees talking so... I'm pretty sure the managers steal their employee's tips. The prices are way too high. The experience the customer receives is clearly based on social class and race (my White BFF was treated like royalty, imagine their surprise when I paid). And you know what else... they didn't turn on my foot bath. Apparently they don't like the noise it makes. My first thought... ""Exactly how loud is my comfort?"" Needless to say, my lukewarm, bubble free, silent foot rub was nothing short of amazing. THE INCLUDED LUNCH IS UNACCEPTABLE. I literally left feeling more tense than before I came. Simply put, this place rubbed me the wrong way (that was a pun).

I really like this place. I recently moved here from another state and needed to find a good place to get waxed. The place is very clean, nice aesthetics, and the woman who waxes has tons of experience and knowledge about skin. I have never had a problem with my waxes there and the woman has also helped me with an ingrown hair problem I have! Her tips have helped make my ingrowns all but cease to exist! The price is fine, not too high, and what I really like is the flexible hours. I work until later in the evening every day, but they always fit me in - once even when I called just a couple hours before I wanted to come in! They had me come in for an appointment after they were closed and didn't seem to mind at all! Very flexible and relaxed.

A friend and I went there for bikini and full leg waxings. We got there almost an hour before our appointment, which was at two. We had to sit in the lobby because the waiting room was being used by a spa party. The spa party recieved all the attention while my friend and I waited in the VERY cold front room. Our waxing service didnt even start until 2:35. The salon closes at four which didnt leave much time to get both of our services done. When we finally, finally, finally got started she went so fast, applying wax to the entire leg before taking any hair off. She was going so fast that she missed huge patches of hair. The next day both my friend and I had to shave our legs and bikini area to cover the spots that were missed. It was a total waste of money, could have done better with a razor or a at home kit. this was my 1st time waxing but this experience didnt seem right, my friend goes regularly and agreed that this was a bad service. I won't go back if you paid me to.

I had the best experience that you could ever have in a day spa. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff who are very professional, It feels like your in a diffrent world you are relaxed, clam and refreshed before you even get your treatment. I would recommend Body Sanctuary over and over again.

I came for a second massage appointment since I enjoyed the first massage (which I had a gift certificate for). The massage therapist was over 45 minutes late to come back from break. The massage was only supposed to be 30 minutes. I had to reschedule because I had plans. I asked if I would get some kind of discount for the inconvenience. One of the managers said yes.
When I returned the following week, the massage person was late again about 45mins. I tried to tell them that I should get a significant discount. However, they only gave me 10% off. This is very unfortunate because the massages were great. This rude experience left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I refuse to return there again.
The visual atmosphere was great but the lack of professionalis brought the mood to disgurst.
