I've had my hair done here a couple of times. Both times I've had color with Rebecca and cut with Nick Jr. My first time there was absolutely amazing... great color treatment, great hair cut. 4 hrs later I got out of the salon with fantastic looking hair.
I went back and I have to admit, I was slightly dissapointed (which is why I rated 3 stars only). The color wasn't as good as the first time, and while my time with Nick during the cut was enjoyable, the cut itself wasn't as good as the one he gave me the first time. Rebecca didn't do as well as the first time on the color, as evidenced by the fact that my highlights were wayyy lighter than I wanted them.
Both times service was impeccable, the staff was nice and friendly. I guess it's just me fussing over my hair. I probably should have gone back and told them, (as I've read other people did and the salon was gracefull enough to correct their mistakes), I just felt uncomfortable about it.
Only 3 stars today, but will go back and see how they'll do next time.

I've been getting Keratin treatments since they came out and have since switched to getting them at Richard Nicholas. They have the most reasonable price of a lot of salons in the city. Rebecca has done my last 2 treatments and is meticulous and good company for the 2 plus hours the service takes. If you have curly frizzy hair and haven't done this yet your life is waiting to change...

I have been coming to Richard Nicholas Hair Studio for more than 10 years. The only person I have seen in all that time is Maria. That says something! I am quite pleased with her work! I have recommended several friends and they have also been happy with the results. The people working here are very nice and professional. I definately recommend Maria and the Salon. Try it - you won't be sorry.

I've been in Philly for about 10 years now and have tried just about every salon in town. This by far the best place I've been to. The staff is super cool (not overly cool to the point you want to choke them), knowledgeable, and super friendly. Can't go wrong here! Ask for Jess - she'll hook it up!
Cheers to good hair!

I found Joe M. several years ago when I first moved to Philadelphia from CA. I've been going to him for 5 years now and am never disappointed. Joe takes the time to listen to what I want. On the occasion when I want to try something new, he makes suggestions and I always leave there looking amazing. We have done both long and short cuts as well as color treatments. He's a pro. Be prepared to call at least a few weeks in advance to schedule. It’s worth the wait!

I have lived in Philadelphia forever and have to tried every saloon in town. I was never fully satisfied with my hair until I met Joe M. at Richard Nicholas. In my opinion he is the best stylist/colorist in this city. He is great to talk to and has kept my hair cut and color updated over the years. Richard Nicholas has great service and always accommodates my busy schedule.

I was referred to Maria by a colleague. I have extremely wavy hair and my stylist didnt seem to be able to give me a good look. I went to Maria a few days ago. My hair never looked better. I am going back to her for color next week. Thanks, Maria. Great Meeting you.

I have nothing but great things to say about this salon! I discovered this salon when I relocated from the NYC Metro area 2 years ago and have never been disapointed.
I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair! Joey has worked with me to create a great style (that I can care for easily) and Rebecca is wonderful with my color--which is no easy task with LOTS of gray and my love of highlighted blonde hair.
The staff is great---and they also have the best shampoos in town.
I can't imagine going anywhere else!

I have been trying to find a colorist to meet my expectations since I moved to Philly 4 years ago and it has been an ongoing battle! I am incredibly particular with my hair, which I believe most women are. However, I ventured to Richard Nicholas Friday and received the most amazing color! I can't help looking at my hair with a feeling of satisfaction. FINALLY I have someone I can trust to do my color for my wedding!!! Thank you Rebecca, you were so sweet and listened to what I really wanted! I promise to send all of my friends in.

I moved to Philadelphia from NYC 8months ago. Since moving I have had several mediocre haircuts and 1 bad one, I finally decided to go back to NY to get my hair done by my amazing stylist that I've been going to for years. Then, by some twist of fate I meet a woman in our offices, her hair is beautiful, really sharp, creative, but still professional. I ask her and she sends me to Liz at Richard Nicholas, now, I am a little skeptical after all the terrible cut's I've had, plus I have curly hair, this woman had straight. Maybe this Liz didn't do curly hair? Did i really want to risk another bad experience? Could my hair handle it? I already had the appointment at my old salon in NY. But I couldn't get over how great this woman's hair was.
So I did it. I made the appointment with Liz ( I still kept the one in NY just in case, don't judge me!)
I don't even have the words to describe how great i feel, this was by far the best cut/style i have ever gotten. Especially with my curls, it's perfect!
Liz was great, she made me feel right at home, and listened to everything i told her about what I was looking for, how much time i wanted to put into styling, we even booked some color in 2 weeks to really show off the cut. I can't wait! After the hr I spent with Liz, I left feeling like i not only found a really great stylist that ""gets it"", but also like I made a friend, how great is that? She was fantastic and I look forward to my next appointment with her. Plus, on my way home I had 3 different women and 1 man at the coffee shop tell me they liked my hair. That has never happened to me in my 30 years, I already loved the cut, now I felt even better!
Oh, and P.S. I canceled the appointment in my NY salon, I don't think I'll be going back there again.
Maria cut my hair 2 weeks ago. I am a 43 Yo, busy mom who like to looks current but hates to fuss too much with my hair. I drove ALL the way from NEW HOPE to have her cut my hair because she is so talented! I have not stopped getting compliments and hardly have to do much after washing it..I towel dry... and I'm on my way..AND it looks awesome!!! I also appreciated that she listened to my needs and didn't just do what SHE wanted...she gave suggestions and worked with me. I HIGHLY recommend this stylist!
As goofy as this may sound, it is so hard to get a decent men's haircut here in the city. I have been to numerous salons here in town, my hair looks great for the first couple of days and then.. A good friend recommended Maria Finizio and I cannot tell you how great this haircut is. It has been over 5 weeks and I wash, towel dry and go. My hair still looks great.
