My fiance and I stop in here for Sunday Brunch quite often, it's a great people watching perch. The eggs benedict, escargot, steak tartare and moules frites are my favorite! I also highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee, although not authentic, the flavor comes pretty close.
If you can snag a spot outside, you will get the true sidewalk cafe feel, albeit the tables are tight. The place is always jammed packed with people and their furry companions.
The only complaint I have thus far, is that the service is slow. Now I don't know if they are mimicking true French fashion in terms of service. (The French try not to interrupt patrons with frequent visits to the table, but rather allow them enjoy a good meal and conversation) so it could be a toss up, I can't figure out which category they full under. Otherwise, the food has yet to disappoint. (knock on wood)

I've been to Parc on several occasions. The food has always been great. However, this last visit a waiter spilled my beer all over my jeans. While the manager came over to make sure I was OK, I was still charged for this beer, which is absurd. To make things worse, the bathroom was in serious need of cleaning.

Just finished a meal at Parc Brasserie and while the food is usually quite good, the service ruins the customer experience. In fact, it was so poor, that it provoked this review that I feel more than just a little compelled to write. Aside from the everyday Phila. rudeness, you never quite know who your server is. My wife and I simply ordered the split pea soup and charcutterie to start and we wanted to share the burger as a final course. My wife made the mistake of asking for bread, obviously a sacrilege, as the server rolled her eyes and pointed out that she needed to clear the menu's first. I was so glad she had a flair for the obvious. The soup arrived 20 min. later, without bread mind you, that we had to remind our server. The soup is tasty and very rich. The smoked ham is nice addition and each spoonful is very flavorful. The charcutterie arrived 20 min. later. Did I mention we asked the server to bring it together with the soup? So much for timing. My wife again made the mistake of asking for mustard. If you thought the bread was a sacrilege, you should have seen this response. I haven't seen eyes roll like that since the Exorcist. Ironically, the mustard never came, but the burger arrived 30 min. later. While usually, this is the highlight of the meal, the meat was charred and dry. The burger was barely luke warm and the fries were cold. We had more than a nagging suspicion that the dish had been waiting under those awful heat lamps. After 2 hrs. of mediocre food and exceptional rudeness with a side of incompetence, we waited another 15 min. to pay the check. Ironically, the manager approached me at the end of the meal and asked to pick up tab. Absolutely not! I might feel obligated to return which is definitely not in my future. If Steven Starr wants to know how to fix this problem, he should speak with Jose Garces whose Chifa is a delight.

Get the escargots- they do it very well. You'll close your eyes during the first bite, it's that good.
The service (both times I've been there) has been inconsistent. For the first half of the meal they're all over you (but in a good way) and for the second half, you would have to light yourself on fire to get noticed by your waiter. Neither time were they exceptionally busy as I went on week nights.
My main comment is about the Rabbit special. It was basically inedible. At first I thought there had been a mistake and they had given me some dried out old piece of chicken breast. Nope, it was rabbit. It was tough and so dry and the sauce was nothing special at all. The noodles were soooo oversalted (and my friends make fun of me for loving salt so much) and there was some kind of root vegetable lurking underneath it all that tasted vaguely of mildew. Honestly, it had no flavor until the aftertaste which was basically essence of an old person's closet. After three bites of this thing I was done so I signaled with my knife and fork placement that I was finished. After 10 minutes of waiting for someone -anyone?- to come take this thing away from me, I decided to go to the restroom, hoping they would clear while I was gone. Nope, upon my arrival I discovered that someone had been to the table but they had only refolded my napkin and placed it on the table. I pity that person since the napkin was half full of their geriatric rabbit. Maybe it was Jack Rabbit? Either way it was shockingly bad and I am not a food snob.

I'm delighted an authentic french brasserie has finely opened in Philly. I feel like French restaurants in the US are often too fancy and pretentious and this one is not. The food was great and reminded me of the one i would have in a local restaurant in Lyon. The atmostphere was very pleasant and i really felt like i was in France for a couple hours. I did not have any problem with the service. Yes the portions are small to american standards but they are normal for the rest of the world. French people usually eat 3+ course meals so each portion is smaller. I had the salad Lyonnaise which was top notch, the coquilles st jacques were amazing and the desert was perfect. The waitress was very friendly and never interrupted us in the middle of a conversation (a specialty of american waiters usually). The only reason that i did not give it 5 star is because it's overpriced.

My beef bourgionne was served absolutely burnt and overcooked. I sent it back and got a burger, which I ordered medium rare, and it was served well done (in fact, cooked more than my friend's burger, which was supposed to be well done and was undercooked). I gave my friend half the burger for him to take home since his was undercooked. When the check arrived, they didn't comp my meal, and since our tab was over $200, we thought that it would be standard customer service of them to comp the burger, being that it was only $15. When we mentioned it to the manager, they said they would take care of it, and dropped a second check, still charging us for the meal. Then, we mentioned it a third time, and they said they would take off the $15, as long as they could take the half of the burger from us so my friend couldn't take it home! Long story short, having worked in the restaurant business, I am appalled at the horrible customer service from the management staff. There are too many good French restaurants in Philadephia to waste my money on a return trip to Parc.

I recently went here to celebrate my anniversary. We sat right down on time to our reservations. We order drinks and appetizers which came out on time. Then our dinner didn't come out until 2 hours after sitting down. Our waiter said sorry, after that he completely ingorned us as he could tell we were angry waiting for so long. Then after our food came out the waiter FINALLY came back over. Apparently he was shocked that I complained about waiting 2 hours for dinner to be served. Don't go here to hungry, the portions were small and the wait time for food was again 2 hours.
