If I could rate this hole below a zero then I would. I only went there once to visit my friend who got a job there and never went back. Welcoming to crackheads and alcoholics alike, this bar is uncomfortable for anyone who doesn't want to be bothered by raging lunatics asking for drugs, money, or just spitting in your face as they talk because they are so drunk. It's loud, dirty, and last time I walked by there was a giant RAT running around being chased by a bouncer with a broom. This menace of South Street is avoided more than visited. If you pride your self on being a rebel, ignore my advice and learn for yourself.

Wheather your a reg. or newby, this place IS AWESOMENESS!! Bartenders are sweethearts, everyone is just trying to have a good time, and the $5 mako special, you cant beat pbr+shot :) Good enviroment, and wild things to be seen, i say no more GO SEE YOUR SELF :) Its ok...go now!
i am known about town as Capt Fun. if i say something is cool than it just plain is and i am telling you that i like to make makos my ""party port"". from the first time i went in there, i knew the bar could be some wild times! hot babes workin everywhere and ill just sit, sip on a pabst and enjoy the scenery. every now and then i shoot a game of pool there but always still checkin out the babes always coming and goin from this joint. you know it! they got a pretty sweet lounge-style 3rd floor and any smooth capt worth his britches knows ya need that too if you re gonna have some good times. i might go there to watch a game on tv, still of corse keeping an eye on the babes. you know it! perfect place for a playa like me

this is by far the best bar in philadelphia. ive been going there for two years now and i love it. all the bartenders already know my drink before i even order, its already on the bar. there are three floors and incredible drink specials. there are not only pool tables and stripper poles with dancers on sunday nights, but 3 itunes jukeboxes that have an infinite library! this is the only place in philly that you can play what music you want to hear get a pbr and a shot of either jack, jose, jaeger, or jim beam for 5 bucks.

Okay so I have been here a handfull of times on Sunday night and usually the service is okay. The music is always awesome on Sunday night but this past Sunday I went and the bartender on the third floor basically ignored me and texted on her cell phone and would be busy talking in long conversations with other patrons who where obviously her friends. She also literally measured out every drop of my Bailys and Jamison and charged me ten dollars. When I went to the first floor and ordered the same thing I was charged only 6.00. I love Makos but some of the bartenders on the third floor really need to step it up.

This was the first stop for my birthday back in the summer and i had a blast with my friends. The owner was nice enough to comp us some drinks as well which I haven't seen happen too much. I went back recently and they have new jukeboxes and HUGE tvs down stairs. The place is looking good. And you can pick music from the game systems at the bar which is convenient.... no more waiting in line. Best place for cheap drinks and a good game of pool. The third floor is definatly somewhere to check out too. They open it on the weekends. 2 spinning strip poles, pool table, bar, 2 private bathrooms and comfy seating. They sometimes have DJs up there which is definatly fun as well.
