In addition to being overly expensive, the store systematically scams customers. They put price stickers of other products on pizza slices to earn more. It happened to me on two different occasions with two different pizzas. That's not coincidence, that's just CRIMINAL.
Another problem that I have is that the sales people are NOT FRIENDLY. If you ask the name of a pizza slice, they don't know it. If you point out a pizza slice, they will complain that it is unclear because you did not refer to it by name. That is completely unreasonable, especially since they don't even know the names themselves. Moreover, they are also totally NOT MOTIVATED to sell anything. They take a minute before they help you. If you complain about anything, they blame you. If you threaten to go to the manager, they LAUGH at you.
If these people were my employees, I would definitely fire them. This is the total opposite of customer friendliness.

I went in to frogro with tight fitting clothing and a tiny louis vuitton purse which can only fit credit cards. I picked out a bag of nuts to take to the movie theater across the street. The lines were long so I went to self-checkout. I showed the receipt to the store rep who was standing close by and asked if I was ok to go, she waived me through and said I was fine. I was walking out of the store then chased and assaulted by a male store employee who grabbed my arm forcibly (and left marks/bruises). He accused me of shoplifting the nuts. I showed my receipt and he was very rude to me and said I matched the profile of a white woman who was recently stealing. I asked what the profile was, and he said she was a white woman. To me, it sounds like discrimination and I didn't like the treatment. He further berated me and felt so violated and left the store crying. Although I had my receipt he still continued to detain me and harass me. He asked if I went to Penn and when I said yes, he replied ""you think you're so privileged, we'll see how you feel now"". It was seriously some weird issue on his end and I was blatantly being harassed. I left the store crying and extremely scared that he would follow me home and beat me up. This guy was so scary; I will never shop at frogro again.

I love The Fresh Grocer! Although the prices can be high, this is the city... prices are high everywhere. Plus, your sales far out do any other grocery store. I compare circulars and prices and The Fresh Grocer is always the best.
The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. I appreciate the fact if a staff member does not understand what I am asking for they find some to ask rather than brush me off. It shows they care about the customer.
Overall The Fresh Grocer has been such a great improvement to the city. Keep up the good work!

the new store manager jeff beaky of the fresh grocer located on 40th and walnut has plans to bring a change to this store. he has outwardly stated that he plans to intimidate most if not all of his black and minority emploees by cutting their days and hours hopefully forcing them to quit so that he can change the face of the store and save a buck by not having to pay unemployement. Jeff beaky 40th streets store manager has already put his plain in motion removing all black and minority employees from management positions.

They always have extremely rude cashiers who get mad when you make them work i.e. do their job. While cashing out, I asked the cashier to validate my parking pass. She said she couldn't because her thing wasn't working and I should ask the cashier next to her. So I did and she told me to go back to my original cashier and have her do it because it's not her job. I told my original cashier this and she said she couldn't do it, go find someone else to. Mind you, I hadn't actually left the line and never moved besides turning from one cashier to the next, both ignoring me, never once glancing in my direction while speaking to me. I finally had to raise my voice above everyone to get a manager to come and validate my parking. He took me to the customer service line and had me wait in line to have my parking validated. They have AWFUL customer service period.

On Wednesday June 25, I bought a meal. I went to the dining area and sat when I was told I had to pay first. I asked politely if I could eat first, concerned my meal would get cold. The associate said no and immediately called security, after I gave consent to purchasing my meal. The supervisor immediately approached me screaming and yelling saying he was going to have me arrested, even though I complied about buying my meal. I told him that is not how you approach a customer and that his style of speaking is completely unacceptable. I told him I did not want to purchase the meal because it was now cold. He then told me I had to leave the store, and if I didn't pay he would have me arrested. Being frustrated that he was the highest official there and there was no one else to talk to, I left, purchasing my meal. I asked a store associate his name, which is Chris Gilliam(don't know how it is spelled). The associate offered to buy my meal and told me Chris does not know how to approach people and said this has happened before. This was the worst I have ever been treated, and it was a supervisor doing so. I am very upset with the service, and I would like to know this won't happen again. Thank you.
