I'll keep this short. We had a large group with reservations, the bread was stale, the appetizers were cold, the wine, coffee, tea, and water only came out after badgering the staff incessantly, and to add, half the appetizers and wines on the menu were not available. Now come the main courses, these were served 3hours and 15 minutes after ordering, although presentation was nice, every other dish was cold, overcooked or secretly microwaved. Upon leaving some of the embarrassed staff were in tears because they told us that this was the end of Frederick's and were deeply sorry, and because of their honesty I am giving this review one star. Frederick's is in a nice neighborhood with ample space, too bad it's the final finale.

This restaurant is random. I understand that some people may think the holiday decorations are charming. To me, it looked like Christmas threw up all over the place. We were greeted by 3 different busboys, a man we came to know as ""The Specials Guy"" who was above doing anything for our table except telling us the two specials of the day, and a waitress who appeared to be on Quaaludes.
We ordered the proscuitto platter to start and I'm still not sure what actually made it out to the table....three small plates of deli meat, a mound of what the waitress referred to as ""some vegetable thing"", and a spoonful of pulled pork that tasted like what I imagine dog food tastes like. Forty five minutes later we were notified that our second course was no longer part of the menu and that we should order something else. All while a one-man band played 50 Cent on his electronic keyboard in the room next door.
The ambiance is strange (does a popcorn machine belong in an Italian restaurant?), the service is slow and the food leaves something to be desired. The only thing that made the experience tolerable was the fact that we could laugh at how bad it was.

Well...all I can say is, that Frederick's may have had their glory days once, but they certainly are not in that phase anymore. After hearing some good things about this restaurant a year back, I was eager to try it out. sadly, it was quite a let down. Let me tell you, I love Italian food, but this was just not up to my standards of fine dining. The service was very slow, the staff was not overly friendly. I got the Chicken Saltimbocca, and it was overly seasoned, as well a rubbery The wilted spinach seemed like it was old. I could only stomach half of it before I left it there. After this disappointing entree, I tried coffee and dessert. The coffee was good, but I hated the square mug; it was nearly impossible to drink out of unless you drank out of the corner( or else coffee spilled on you.) The dessert was decent. The tiramisu was lacking an authentic rum flavor, but it wasn't awful. Maybe it is better on a weeknight?

This place has a great ambiance, and some of the food is good, depending on the day of the week and the entree, although the veal parm left a lot to be desired. but the service is terrible. I would say that the service is so bad that it takes away from the entire experience. expect to be sitting there for hours and have about 5 different servers/busers. you might need to wait for a table forever as well. waiting for the check also takes an additional half hour. also, the bathroom was a little gross. my suggestion-maybe go for cocktails on a weeknight only, but avoid the kitchen and avoid the restaurant at all cost on weekends.

I've been driving by this restaurant for years; it looks beautiful from the outside so finally I decided to give it a try. You have no idea how much I regret that decision. Let me be clear?THE SERVICE AT THIS RESTAURANT IS HORRIBLE. Here?s just a few examples of the trouble we ran into that night: 1) From the time we were seated, our waiter did not appear for 30 minutes, and when he did, he seemed disinterested, and not in the least bit apologetic when we informed him of the long wait. 2) Our first appetizer arrived 56 minutes after we first sat down?almost one hour sitting without any food at all. 3) We were seated at the table closest to the door, and the hostess of the restaurant was oblivious to our discomfort and frustration, even though she sat there and did nothing but look in our general direction as we waited patiently for service. And it wasn?t because she was busy, in fact the phone was ringing so incessantly and annoyingly that another patron had to complain about it. 4) The server filled my $12 glass of Pinot ? of the way at most (she emptied the bottle, and I assumed she was going to return with another bottle? She never did.) I could continue a play by play for the entire evening, and it would probably have some comedic value for the reader, but suffice it to say the service was unbelievably slow and unfriendly. The food was mediocre at best. The Venetian spring rolls appetizer was unremarkable, the salmon entree was bland and severely overcooked (I would have sent it back if we didn?t want to just get out of there by then), and the lobster dish was just plain bad. I eat Italian dinners out in the city all the time, and this was definitely the worst one I?ve had in a long time. I would not eat another meal there if it were free.
