Very professional and helpful! My husband and I booked Broad Street Movers a few weeks before we were planning to move, but we ended up having to change our plans at the last minute. Broad Street worked to help us as much as they could, even recommending other movers when they weren't available at the last minute. I'm sure we would have loved working with them if we could!

We recently had a very local move in Philadelphia (20 blocks) from one 2-br apartment to another. I picked Broad Street Movers after reading reviews and calling a few companies. They were the most responsive in terms of returning my phone calls quickly and answering my questions. I was just a little disappointed that when I first called, the move date I asked about was free, but when I called to confirm it a day later, it had been booked. Luckily, I was able to schedule for the next day.
The move itself went without a hitch. Three movers arrived on time, if not a little early (they called ahead). All three were friendly and courteous. And I really appreciated that they asked questions when they weren't sure of something. I can say that I felt confident throughout that the movers were taking good care of our things, and were very trustworthy. Most importantly, our belongings arrived without any damage, and the move was finished within four hours.
All in all, I would highly recommend Broad Street Movers for a very efficient, professional and lo-stress moving experience!

I'm not one who usually writes reviews, but this company deserves a very positive one.
I've moved from the UK to the US, and the US to Canada and back again. 15 moves in all I think. None of them pleasant.
This latest jaunt, however, was easy, efficient, friendly, clean & tidy, and (dare I say it?) FUN!
Broad Street Movers are brilliant to work with and you cannot beat their prices. Please check them out before making a decision on another mover.

It was very easy!
I had a long distance move from Philadelphia to Columbia, SC and I was stressed out about finding the right movers and the logistics of it all (my things weren't all in one place and I needed a company who would be willing to make two stops in Philadelphia before the long drive to Columbia). What was even more difficult was that I was overseas when I was trying to orchestrate my move. Thankfully, I stumbled on to Broad Street Movers when I was looking online for a Philly-based moving company. I went ahead and emailed them. The fact that my email was answered in a timely manner was a good sign. They offered me a reasonable flat rate (compared to what another highly-rated Philly-based moving company quoted) and we agreed on a move date. Suffice it to say that I am now all settled in Columbia. My move to Columbia seemed easier and even cheaper than my move to Philadelphia from New York a few years back (and Columbia is a good 13 hours away).
This company should go national so the next time I move, I can call them again.

This praise is LONG overdue! I moved almost a year ago and wanted to let everyone know how impressed I was with Broad St. Movers. I chose them for my move after reading their wonderful reviews on Citysearch and thought it was too good to be true....I was totally wrong. The owner and 2 other movers came the day of my move and apologized for being 15 minutes early. They had my apartment emptied so quickly you would have thought I was being evicted. All of my things were handled with care and placed neatly in my new place within a few hours. Moving can be a nightmare but these guys made it an enjoyable, affordable experience. I would use their services again and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for movers!

I've recently had a great experience with Broad Street Movers. Everyone from the moving company was great. I sent an e-mail and got a response back within 24 hours.
When I got a quote the company tried to give me a best guess which was great for me, because it gave me an idea of how much I was going to spend. The only complaint that I have is the fee for travel time, because I was considered to live outside of the city.
On the day of the move 3 movers showed up and was very quick in loading my items while still being friendly to me even though I am sure I was in the way. The movers made sure to treat my items with respect instead of just throwing them all over the place.
I would recommend Broad Street Movers to anyone looking for a good moving company. They stayed within the 2 hour minimum and keep my cost low.

I've recently had a great first-time experience with Broad Street Movers. From the folks on the phones (who happened to be the owners!) to the movers themselves, 100% friendly professionalism.
The only tiny complaint I can register is the fact that I didn't need the much- recommended 3 movers for my small one-bedroom apartment (the workload could have easily been handled by 2 workers in 2 hours).
Regardless, I appreciated the cheerfulness of the movers themselves, plus their willingness to take direction and offer helpful suggestions. I would absolutely hire Broad Street Movers again and have been recommending them to everyone!

I had used Broad Street Movers to move my daughter's stuff. I came all the way from CA to help her but after having such a great help from these guys I thought my daughter alone would have managed it all. They were excellent and meticulous. They were right on time and finished work exactly as stated even to a minute. Their communication was so commendable, I did not have to worry about holiday in between. Owner was very prompt on e-mailing and on phone. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Great job Broad Street Movers! Way to go!

There is no possible way I can explain how much I loved working with these guys. Even though I moved out of the Philly area, I would consider paying for them to come to move me again from another state if I had to. Moving is stressful, it sucks, who doesn't know it. Mark and his crew make it easy. They care about you, big move or small move, they treat you with the same level of compassion. They'll call you the day before and the day of to tell you where they are. If they make a wrong turn, they let you know. The crew is friendly and easy to talk to (I worked with Victor and Joe) and they really take the time to get to know you, but also get the job done. They move fast but don't compromise quality. In all honesty, don't go anywhere else. Stop looking for other reviews. You've found the place. Call them. Book it. No more worries.

I just moved to the Mt. Airy area from the Midwest, and had a relocation container shipped to the transport company's Philadelphia terminal on the east side of the city. Today I had guys from Broad Street Movers help me move my stuff from the container at the terminal to my new apartment— it took them less than 30 minutes to unload the container and secure my stuff in their truck, and when the last item in the truck was brought to my room, it hadn't even been 2.5 hours since we met up at the terminal! The guys were friendly, quick and very helpful— and the price was great. I'm certain I'll be calling them again the next time around! I was right to trust those positive reviews they're getting here and elsewhere, and thought I'd also leave a positive review hoping they'll keep up the great work...!

These guys are awesome.
My husband wan't convinced paying movers was the way to go- Broad Street won him over.
Our entire apartment was moved in an hour in pouring down rain and we even enjoyed their company!
By far the best moving experience I've had.
I'll be calling them again for our August move.

We contacted Broad Street Movers very last minute after the other company we had lined up to move us from CC to Mt Airy realized they ""forgot"" to officially put us on their calendars. Broad Street Movers ""came to our rescue"" even at the late notice and their prices were fantastic. The guys they sent were very polite, professional and efficient. I was very pregnant when moving day arrived and had failed to finish packing a few items - they told me not to worry about it at all and took care of the last couple of items for me. Overall, we had a great experience with them and I've recommended them to several people (my sister is about to contact them for her own upcoming move). Don't hesitate to contact them!

I just moved last week and decided I have bribed my friends one too many times into helping me move (yes, I've moved 8 times in 11 years) ... so I figured it was best to hire movers this time around. In 8 moves, I've used movers 4 times and this was by far my best experience.
My sister recommended Broad Street Movers and they did not disappoint. I called several other places and Broad Street Movers were the most reasonably priced and did not charge extra for things like a fuel surcharge, blankets, moving mirrors, etc.
Mark was efficient and easy to work with. I literally sent him an e-mail, we went back and forth a few times, and then I booked it. No muss, no fuss. Piece of cake. And I booked a week before the actual move, with no problem.
The morning of, the three movers showed up on time and got right to work. The guys were friendly, professional, and personable. Additionally, they moved all my stuff (and there was A LOT of stuff) quickly and efficiently. I know it was not a fun job – especially considering I moved to a third-floor walkup – but they maintained a sense of humor and were terrific for the whole 4 ½ hours. I have no complaints!
I was thoroughly pleased with Broad Street Movers and the group of guys who moved me. There is an excellent team there and all in all was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend!

The owner came out to have a look at the small street his van would have to drive down on moving day. He showed up on time, and was very professional. The moving guys called when they were only 5 minutes late on moving day, then showed up five minutes later. The four-man crew then proceeded to move all our stuff out in under 4 hours (way too many boxes of books) and then into our new place just as quickly. As it turned out, we had so much stuff that we had to take the TV in a cab. The crew manager actually credited my cab fare. Incredible. This is the best moving company anywhere.

I found these guys through Google and just phoned them, they were very helpful and said they would be there. Well 8am on Saturday morning just as they said the truck pulled up with three great guys. They worked hard until 4:40 pm and I did not have to do a thing they put every thing in the new house just where we asked, not a thing was marked or broken and the cost was right as they said. I would use these guys again any time. Very Good Job.

This was my first experience with professional movers and they were wonderful! My move was a long distance move—from Raleigh to Philly—and Mark was great in discussing my furniture and the details beforehand. He always responded to me quickly and was easy to reach any time I had questions.
On the day of the move, Mark and his team arrived in Raleigh at our arranged time and were very quick and methodical about moving and packing my things. Once we were in Philly, they were great about working out issues with parking the truck (I moved in on a very busy street near Rittenhouse), and they quickly moved my whole apartment across two lanes of traffic and up four flights of stairs. Everything arrived in tact, not a thing broken.
All in all, it was a great experience! They were friendly and helpful, but also very professional. I will most definitely use Broad Street Movers on any future moves!

I used Broad St because of all the good reviews. However, my experience was TERRIBLE, and I would not recommend this company to anyone that I actually liked.
I had everything set up in advance with the company. At 6am, the company calls me to tell me that they don't have movers for me. They wanted to know if I could wait until much later in the afternoon, or the next day. I told them that I flew into Philly to move apartments. (I was working outside of Philly at the time). I couldn't do a time outside of the one that Broad St Movers had promised.
The person on the phone hangs up abruptly. Then calls at 6:15AM and says, okay we got a crew together for you. This new crew called me 4 times before 7 AM to confirm and reconfirm items that I had gone over with the company several times before. Rather than feel reassured that the crew was conscientious, I started to feel really nervous. A business who's sole purpose is to move people, should have its act together and 1) have a crew ready and if not 2) not have to call the client 4 times right before a move.
When the crew got to my house it was worse. I told them they couldn't park in the back because it would be too narrow for their van, so they'd have to park on the side street up against my apartment. The crew ignored my suggestion, backed into the house and HIT THE SIDE OF A PILLAR WITH THE TRUCK.
At that point, they drove forward, looked embarrassed and guilty, and used the side street like I told them to use.
Then when they were moving my things into their truck, they said they'd have to charge me extra for boxes. I told them that I discussed this with their head office and that boxes should've been included with my service. They VEHEMENTLY disagreed, and told me I'd have to pay them 20 extra dollars per box.
I then called the head office and asked them how much a box would cost. The head office told me 10 dollars per box. These guys were totally trying to rip me off. I then asked the head guy why I was even being charged for boxes when it shouldve been included. The head office guy on the phone said fine, boxes are included.
At one point, the crew decides that they can't move my bed without charging me an extra 50 bucks because they have to take it up the stairs. I asked them why because they knew ahead a time about the stairs. This was discussed before hand. Then they wanted extra money for a mirror because they didn't want to break it. This was already discussed before too. They then wanted me to put in writing that I wasn't going to hold them liable for damages to the building! They refused to do work until I wrote this in writing.
They would mess up the property, and yet weren't going to be held responsible even though I had nothing to do with it!
When they finished putting in the last chair, one of the guys like ""we're off the clock!! we're off the clock!! i'm not doing a single thing more!! we're off the clock""
These people were suppose to help me unpack since a lot of my items were large furniture pieces that I couldn't move on my own. This was prearranged when I called to set up my appointment.
My apartment was a mess because they didn't ask me where to put anything, and at that point I just wanted them to leave.
They reached their hand out for a tip, and I looked at them with shock. They were so bad. I couldn't believe they wanted a tip. The crew was a team of 3. One of the guys seemed to be as dumbfounded by the other two's behavior that he shook his head and walked out.
So yeah. I would pass on this company.
I've had other movers before, and this one was so so terrible. It was such a bad day. :(

i moved from manhattan to philadelphia on august 4, and i hired broad st movers to do the job. these guys were fantastic- they showed up right on time and called me to tell me they were on their way, as requested. once they arrived, we had some problems parking the van on third ave but they were extremely easy-going and were not phased. i lived in a very small 1BR and these guys were done moving the stuff within 1.5hrs. their method of loading the items onto the van is much faster than that of other moving companies- who wrap each piece of furniture individually in cloth. broad st takes everything to the truck and wraps it all when its loaded- which is much faster. none of my furniture was damaged. when these guys get paid by the hour, its nice that they work so quickly. moving everything into my apartment in philly went extremely smoothly. we started moving at 10 30am and i was fully loaded in philly by 3pm. i was charged very fairly, and the guys (whose names i forget) were generous when billing my hours (they could have charged me for more hours without me objecting). mark and his team is extremely professional and i highly recommend them for any move!
