Overall
Professionalism

The propietor of this shop is extremely rude. I would not return if you paid me. I believe this store has come under new ownership and I warn you to stay away. There are so many other unique antique stores in Chestnut Hill that respect their customers.

An Amazing Shop

Bird In Hand is a very well run shop staffed with knowledgeable and helpful volunteers. It's an adventure and a blast to see what comes in each week and the prices are very good.

Very Nice Little Shop

Bird in hand is a small shop but has a good selection of antiques, artwork and other vintage items. They seem to only take in quality items and the inventory was is good condition. They turn the inventory over so it is a good idea to stop in from time to time. They seem to be a good source for vintage paintings and high quality prints. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Attitude is Everything.

My last visit to this shop will probably be just that - my last. I chose a number of wonderful items only to find that the price tags had been punched through the of the upper sleeves of garments leaving a ruinous, and visible, pin hole. Perhaps she was having a bad day or thought I didn't deserve better, but when I brought it to the attention of the resident manager, she blew me off with cavalier 'so what' attitude. The deliberate destruction of beautiful clothes is tragic; the condescending attitude is inexcusable. Hmmmm, aren't these clothes sold for a charity?
