I bought my first house 3 years ago and for the first year I didn't have home warranty protecting me through the struggles of homely mishaps. I had to pay out of pocket for things around my house that needed repairing. It occurred to me that in the long run american home guard would be a great choice, and it has shown to be true.
At 34 years old my wife and I bought our first house. My parents sat down with me to discuss home warranty. They had suggested I look into american home guard. After researching this company I took interest in calling them and getting a quote. For a few months it didn't feel like it was so important, but after the air conditioner stopped working in the middle of summer I regretted not having american home guard. I called american home guard next day and told them about my issue however since I didn’t have their coverage they didn’t cover me. However as a courtesy they got me a licensed technician to fix the problem. I had to pay over $500 to fix the issue. After that I decided to get american home guard.
Needed a plumber to come to my condo and needed it quick! Couldn't have been easier! Made the request for service online. The plumbing service called me in less than a day to schedule an appointment that was good for the both of us. On the appointment date, the plumber was on time, and did not try to sell me anything I did not need. Everything was upfront. No hidden surprises! Nothing out of the ordinary for AHG
We had a problem with the fuze box so I decided to submitted my claim over the phone with American Home Guard. They handled it very well and so did the electrician that came out. The technician figured out what the problem was and got it fixed promptly and professionally.
Fraud alert! I paid for their warranty service and received a contract. My heater went out in the coldest part of the winter in my area of Texas. American Home Guard sent technicians to my home. The technicians (two from the same company) recommended replacement of my unit because it could not be repaired. American Home Guard tried to avoid payment by trying to cancel my policy. They gave the reason that they no longer serviced the state of Texas. They serviced Texas when I bought the contract and at the time my heater went out. They are in breach of contract and will not do anything about it. They do not return phone calls or emails. These people are all criminals - Cheryl, Christina, Laura, Jessica, Vincent Hamilton.
I was a little hesitant signing up with American Home Guard at first. I noticed a few repairmen come by my neighbors house with there logo on the truck. Turns out most of the neighborhood has had there services for a number of years. I recently had my first claim and I can definitely say I am glad I tried it.
