It was my first visit to Sushi Planet and it was such a great experience! We went at 4pm on Sunday so we were the only patrons eating in, although there were several customers for take-out. The waiter was so attentive and pleasant. He immediately gave a us waters and fresh homemade pickles. I asked if they have pots of jasmine tea or just cups. He said they serve by the cup but he can make us a pot! After ordering 4 pretty basic rolls the waiter brought us out a complimentary appetizer. I'm unsure of what it technically is called but it was 4 pieces of fresh salmon dressed with some oil, soy, scallion, and capers. VERY good! When we got our entree it looked beautiful and tasted the same! Like I said, we got basic stuff - spicy tuna/avacado, yellowfin/scallion, spider roll, and shrimp tempura. ALL DELICIOUS. After finishing the chef and/or waiter brought us out a complimentary "dessert" which was a piece of watermelon with a piece of fish - sorry unsure what kind! - and dressed with a lemon-y onion-y light sauce or foam. It was also very good. Also, the price was very reasonable. It was under $30 total for all we got. My boyfriend said he doesn't ever remember feeling so appreciated as a customer! The atmosphere was relaxed, cozy and clean. The music was cool and playing off one of the guys itunes. It might be difficult to bring a large party here unless arrangements are made. I noticed one large table for 8 in the back of the restaurant (could def squeeze 10) but the rest of the tables are 2 tops mostly. There is also a sushi bar with a few seats. I usually go to Wasabi house because it is so close to my apt - but they are closed on Sundays so decided to give this a whirl. It was definitely worth the walk! I'll def go back. They are also BYOB if you're having dinner.
I work at Jefferson Medical and a Bumblefish franchise just opened up two blocks from me. We've been waiting months for them to open, and the wait was worth it. They have dumplings with various dipping sauces, fried shrimp rolls, healthy snacks, and of course, sushi. Really, really great sushi for the price. Everything is made a few minutes ahead of time, so it's great if you're in a hurry. Sure beats the sandwiches I eat at our cafeteria!
Took my girlfriend here recently. The food itself was phenomenal...I love sushi and sashimi, and this joint ranks somewhere in my top 3. I strongly recommend the Kimono roll. The service was also wonderful, with all of the staff in a positive mood and personable. Add in the music and slightly dim lighting to create the perfect ambience, Yanako is without question my favorite sushi joint in the Philadelphia area.
This place has great food, and great service. You can choose the all you can eat menu, which has many great items such as sashimi, maki rolls, tempura, and other Japanese staples, or they have a regular menu with everything that they make. the all you can eat price is 20.50 per person for lunch, 22.50 for dinner. Overall, a great place for Japanese cuisine at a great price.
Five stars is not enough when it comes to Sakura. What a relaxing dining experience. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is awesome. Don't bother going if you want to eat and run because this is a restaurant that gets in touch with the Zen in you. I would recommend this place to everyone. The prices are great too. LOVE IT!!!!!
This is one of the best sushi places in the northeast. I eat here at least once a week, and have had them deliver on occasion. Everything has been great, my only complaint was that when you opt for delivery, it can take a while to get your order and to think of rolls in a truck for 30 minutes can be a bit unsettling.
An eatery where you can enjoy great food & have fun with the staff. The sushi & sashimi at Gaja Gaja are very fresh & incredibly mouth watering. I recommend the Terri roll and the Hungry roll ( has eel on the top). The chef's presentations are very creative. There are also several cute & friendly waitresses.
Although, Philly is full of lots of sushi places, but either too pricey, or the quality not up to the expectation. Well, whatelse can be better than the all-u-can-eat menu Ajia offered....And not to mention, the lunch menu is very well priced...Love it ....Gotta go to ajia for more sushi..........
Sakura is a bit small and cozy. I like the atmosphere and the food is unique and delicious! I go with my friends for a special birthday dinner a couple times a year! The prices remind me up restaurant week delicious food at a quality restaurant for a good deal!
The Miso Ramon was delicious!!!! What do I recommend? Everything! The atmosphere was great and the best part of going to a restaurant when you're starving is quick seating. Overall it was a fantastic evening at Tarakawa!
